Pioneers of Henry County Illinois

Direct descendants of Henry County pioneers will be awarded "Pioneers of Henry County, Illinois Certificates" by the Henry County Genealogical Society upon completion of the requirements set forth.

The purpose of this project is to gather, preserve and publish genealogical facts gleaned from the submitted information. Through this endeavor the history of the Henry County pioneers, which might otherwise go unrecorded, will be preserved.

It is not necessary for the applicant to be or to have ever been a resident of Henry County, Illinois. To qualify for a certificate one must be a direct descendant of an ancestor settling in Henry County as follows:

Before 1837*......Certificate with gold seal and ribbon

1837 - 1865........Certificate with gold seal

1866 - 1885........Certificate with seal

* Date Henry County was organized

Upon receipt of proof of direct descent and after eligibility has been determined, a certificate will be issued and mailed. The cost of each certificate is $ 10.00.


TO RECEIVE YOUR PIONEER CERTIFICATE:

Mail 1. Copies of proof of Direct Descent

Acceptable sources of proof Birth, Death, Marriage Records, Census Records, Tax Lists, Bible, Church and School Records, Military Records, Estate and Land Records, Obituaries and Tombstone Inscriptions (include cemetery and location), and County Histories. 

DO NOT SEND ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS, we cannot return the documents, please send copies of your documents.

2 Signed Permission Release.

3. Completed application accompanied by a check for $10.00, made payable to the:
