Dorothy A. "Dot" Welsh, 68, died Saturday, May 28, 2005 at her residence from cancer. Dot was born on July 8, 1936 in Effingham, Illinois and was the daughter of Leonard & Pauline (Taphorn) Boos. On February 7, 1959 she married Roland "Ron" Welsh and he survives. Dot was a registered nurse, graduating from St. John's in Springfield, Illinois. She was employed as the plant nurse at Victor Dana, retiring in 2004 after 31 years. Dot was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Oblong where she served on the Pastoral Council. Dot was also a member of the Elks, Quail Creek Country Club, Bridge Club and Women's Golf Association.

Dot is survived by her husband, Ron; parents, Leonard & Pauline Boos; three sons and daughter-in-law, Michael L. Welsh, William & Susie Welsh & Tom Welsh; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet & Ron Mitchell and Deanne & Craig Weatherford; eleven grandchildren, Sydney & Sam Mitchell, Michelle Shaffer, Danielle, Whitney & Carleigh Welsh, Derek & David Hester, Gavin Weatherford, Ashley Schnizlein and Brady Welsh; three great-grandchildren, Blaze Shaffer, Christian & Leighanna Schnizlein; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim & Ruth Boos and Steve & Lottie Boos; two sisters and brother-in-law, Sister Jane Boos and Kathy & Bill Fearday.

Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery.
