Nicci D. Thompson, 27 of Palestine, IL, died at 1:31 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2006 in an auto accident south of Gordon Junction that also claimed the life of her grandmother and son. She was born November 11, 1979 in Olney, IL, the daughter of Tricia Woosley and George Wachter.

Nicci was an honor student and graduated from Lawrenceville High School, and then attended Olney Central College. She was a First Degree Black Belt, Tae Kwon Do and attended the Calvary Church in Lawrenceville. She worked for 5 years as a teller in the Palestine Union Planter's Bank, the Regions Bank in Palestine, and more recently with the Flat Rock Branch of the Casey State Bank.

She married Ronald Lee Thompson on October 21, 1998 and he survives. She is also survived by her mother, Tricia Miles, Lawrenceville; her brother, Dustin Isaiah Miles, Lawrenceville; her sister-in-law and husband, Kera Rene and Frank Trout, Sullivan, IN; and her nephew, Gabriel Trout, Sullivan, IN; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services are Thursday, November 30th at 10:30 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Rev. Dan Szombathy and Rev. Paul Gray are in charge of the services. Burial is in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 29th. Memorials may be made to the Palestine Pilgrim Holiness Church, the Robinson Wesleyan Church, or to the American Cancer Society with envelopes at the funeral home.
