David Lee Swaner, 72 of Robinson, IL, died at 5:52 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at the Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. He was born August 14, 1934 in Hutsonville, IL, the son of Maurice W. Swaner and Frances Weger Swaner.

He was a retired Pipefitter and a member of the Local #157 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union in Terre Haute, IN. David served in the U. S. Marines during the Korean War. He was a member of the Robinson American Legion Post #69, the New Port Richey Florida V. F. W. and Marine Corps League. He was a member of the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250, the Danville Scottish Rite, and the Ainad Shrine. He was a member of the Robinson Elks Lodge #1188 and the New Port Richey Moose Lodge.

He married Evelyn Montgomery July 9, 1982 and she survives. He is also survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Leslie Swaner, Robinson, Mark and Suzanne Swaner, Terre Haute, IN; his daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Kenny Catt, Springfield; 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 step children; his sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Ron Simmons, Lawrenceville; 2 aunts and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 7th at 10:00 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Rev. Burl Shinkle is in charge of services. Burial is in the Jones Cemetery, rural Flat Rock, IL. Visitation is from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 6th with Masonic services conducted at 7:00 p.m. by the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250. Military graveside services will be conducted by the combined units of the Robinson American Legion Post #69, the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549, the Amvets Post #33, and the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132.
