Don L. Stewart, 78 of Robinson, IL, died at his home Wednesday, March 7th at 5:15 p.m. after an extended illness. He was born April 29, 1928 in Robinson, the son of Harry H. Stewart and Minnie L. Coulter Stewart.

He was retired from Marathon in the Boiler House as Chief Operator in 1986 after 34 years of service. He served in the U. S. Army in Japan during WWII. He was a member of the Robinson Elks Lodge #1188; the Robinson American Legion Post #69; the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250; and the United Brethren Church. He was a founding and lifetime member of Oak Glen Golf Course.

Don married Roberta F. Stivers on January 16, 1949 and she survives.

He is also survived by 3 children and their spouses; his son Mike Stewart, Robinson; his daughter and son-in-law, Jody and Doug Mendenhall, Trimble; his son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Terri Stewart, Marshall; 9 grandchildren; his sister, Kathy Mann, Robinson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Paul Stewart; and his granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 11th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson with Pastor David Ducommon in charge of services. Burial will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Lincolnland Hospice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
