Robinson Argus, Jan. 6, 1892, pp. 1, col. 2.

Sunday a dispatch was received by the Postmaster of Robinson, from Henry M. Smith, of Terre Haute, stating that Daniel L. Smith had been killed the day before in a cold (sic) mine and requesting that word be sent to his wife, residing near Porterville, this county. No particulars were given, or mention of where the mine in which he was killed was located, Mr. Smith had been superintendent of a mine at Sale Creek, Tenn., near Chattanooga, for some time, and was there up to Christmas day, and it is probably it was there he was killed.
