Raulin Shryock, 84, died Monday October 4, 2004 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center, Robinson, Illinois. Raulin was born on April 9, 1920 in Richland County near Dundas, Illinois. He was the son of Noris Ray Shryock and Gladys (Harding) Shryock.

On April 2, 1948, he married Imogene Russell, who survives. Raulin was a self employed carpenter, U. S. Army veteran of WW II and a member of First Baptist Church of . Raulin served in the U. S. Army in WW II from January 1942 until December 1945 as a tank Commander participating in three major battles in France and Germany. Raulin was a member of the Oblong Antique Tractor & Engine Club until his health started failing.

Raulin is survived by his wife, a daughter and son-in-law Linda Kaye & Robert W. Miller; three grandchildren Libby & Dimitri Christopoulos, Chris Miller and Amanda Miller; one great granddaughter Elena E. Christopoulos; two brothers and three sister-in-laws Ray & Margaret Shryock, Kenneth & Nancy Shryock and Dawn Shryock; three sisters and two brothers-in-laws Martha Mae & Roger Peterson, Opal & Ordean Kabrick and Wanda Finnestad; one aunt Edna Gangloff; brother-in-law & sister-in-law Jim & Connie Russell; four sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws Charlotte Shryock, Janet & Frank Dart, Sue Russell and Pat & Lee Rogers; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Raulins parents, one brother Robert and two sisters Helen Walker and Virginia Tonderum preceded him in death.

Burial will be in Berlin Cemetery, rural Oblong.
