Donald L. "Don" Shields 49 Oblong, IL. died Thursday October 12, 2000 following an apparent heart attack in Jasper County, IL. Don was born February 16, 1951 in Crawford County, IL. He was the son of Chester W. "Chet" and Amy (Miller) Shields.
He married Judy Fancil on 12/24/1976. He married Ruth Neeley 7/21/1984. Don was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the Oblong Antique Tractor & Engine Club. He loved to work on old cars and with wood.
Don is survived by his mother Amy; 3 Sons - Donald Eugene "Donnie", Tyler James, and Jesse Lee; 4 Brothers and Sisters-in-Law Rex & Joyce, Bob, Ed, and Jack & Chris; 2 Sisters and Brother-in-law Sharon & Tom Haley, Rose Shields; 3 Uncles and Aunts - Art & Pearl Shields - Palestine, Jim & Edna Miller Hot Springs, AR, and Glen "Shorty" & Betty Price - Stoy; several nieces & nephews & cousins; 2 Step-Sons: Charles "Buddy" and Ryan Clough.
