Stanley Joseph "Sarge" Novakoski 73 Robinson, Illinois died Saturday February 9, 2002 at Crawford Memorial Hospital Robinson, Illinois.He was born in Lincoln, Rhode Island on February 5, 1929 and was the son of Alexander William Novakoski and Mary Catherine (Gresh) Novakoski.

On July 22, 1949 he married Norma J. Becktell who died March 28, 1995. Sarge retired from the United States Army in October 1967, then for several years worked as a radio operator and dispatcher for the Crawford County Sheriff's Department and for many years was a professional mover. He served in the United States Army during WWII, the Korean Conflict and VietNam. Sarge was a member of the AMVETS, Oblong American Legion Post #219 and was a Life Member of Crawford County V.F.W. Post #4549 - Robinson. His hobbies included moving people and attending Crawford County High School sporting events.

Sarge is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-laws Stanley & Becky Novakoski,William & Nancy Novakoski and Anthony W. Novakoski; three daughters and son-in-laws Stanetta J. Novakoski, Normella & Bill Moore and Dorena & Don Beckerman; 16 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers and sisters-in-laws Bernard Novakoski and William & Ann Novakoski; 3 sisters and sons-in-laws Betty & John Schimmelbusch, Bernadine & Jack Davis and Theresa Gentile; brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws Mary Becktell, Lawrence & Betty Jo Becktell and Bill & Mary Miller; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Stanley is preceded in death by his parents, wife and 2 sons Larry Dean & Edward Eugene Novakoski.

Military Rites will be conducted at the graveside by Oblong American Legion Post #219. Burial will be in Kirk Cemetery rural Robinson.
