Daisy Ann Nokes, 83, of Palestine, IL, died at 9:25 a.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at Crawford County Convalescent Center, Robinson. She was born August 9, 1920 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Fred Olson and Anna Axelson Olson.
She was a homemaker.
She married Elwood Nokes, Lansing, IL and he survives. She is also survived by her 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Judith and Frank Pactwa, Lansing, IL, Marge and Wayne Miller, Palestine; her son, Dick Nokes, Nicholasville, KY; 4 grandchildren and spouses, John and Diana Freeman, Decatur, Leonard Freeman, Henry, IL, Deanna and Mark Vanston, Dallas, TX, Jerry Nokes, Nicholasville, KY; 4 step grandchildren, Rita and Mike Adams, Olney, Penny and Greg Gaddis, Flat Rock, Rhonda and Jim Webster, Palestine, Wayne Miller, Jr, Fairfax, VA; 6 great grandchildren, Paul and Richard Freeman, Decatur, Hailie and Ian Freeman, Decatur, Emily and Anada Nokes, Nicholasville, KY; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Loraine Olson, St. Lucy, FL; sister, Elaine Stabough, Pinellas Park, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Dorothy Stevens and Maxine Craig; and 3 brothers, Wally, Elmer, and Eric Olson.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2004 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine. Cremation will follow.
