Larry D. Myers Sr., 68, Olney, Illinois died Sunday March 17, 2002 at 5:20 a.m. at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois. He was born June 23, 1933 the son of Darrold L. Myers and Augusta L. (Bayne) Myers. On June 28, 1956 he married Gwendolyn E. "Gwen" (Bright) Metcalf. On June 30, 1998 Larry retired as a Tool & Diemaker from Cherry Electric in Waukegan, Illinois. He was a Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Oblong First Christian Church.
Larry is survived by his wife Gwendolyn E. "Gwen" Myers; 3 sons and daughters-in-laws Larry D. & Dianna Myers Jr, Garry D. & Sharon Myers and Danny L. & Shelly Myers; 1 daughter and son-in-law Debra L. & Tom Bogaert; 2 Step sons and Step daughter-in-law Richard & Deb Metcalf and Robert Metcalf; Step daughter and Step son-in-law Laura & Bill Longmire; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 1 sister and brother-in-law Betty Sue & Benny Bohannon; several nieces and nephews also survive. Larry is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Mr. Myers body will be cremated following the funeral service and his cremains will be buried in Oblong Cemetery. Military Rites by the Oblong American Legion Post #219.
