Mark Steven "Steve" Murray, 53 of rural Palestine, IL died of an apparent heart condition at 2 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL. He was born August 21, 1951 in Robinson, the son of Byron Murray and Earlene Baker Murray.

He was the Chaplain at Robinson Correctional Center. He served in the U. S. Army as an assistant chaplain at Ft. Campbell, KY; was Pastor at the Faith Christian Fellowship in Robinson and at Zion and Oak Ridge United Methodist Churches. He graduated from Robinson High School in 1969, attended North Central College in Minneapolis, MN and received his Bachelor's Degree from Central Christian University, Blytheville, Arkansas. He worked with the "Lunch Buddy" program in Robinson and helped organize the Food Bank Program in 1985. He was a member of the Robinson Elks Lodge #1188 and was a member of the Crawford County Ministerial Association.

Steve married Debbie Harrison on June 24, 1972 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Jeff Wallace, Robinson; his sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Bob Hall, Robinson; his niece and nephew, Hayley and Brady Hall, Robinson; uncles and aunts, Bill Miesenhelder, Robinson, Philip and Carolyn Murray, Robinson, Paul Murray, Texas, Junior Murray, Robinson; George and Marsha Baker, Robinson. He was also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Doris Harrison, Robinson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harold Lee and Kay Harrison, Sullivan, MO, Sherry and Roger Malicoat, Hutsonville, Mindy and Buck Camden, Indianapolis, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his aunt, Caroline Miesenhelder; and 2 uncles, David and John Murray.

Funeral services are Wednesday, March 30th at 2:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson with Rev. Trent Cloin officiating. Burial is in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson, IL. Visitation is from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 29th at the funeral home.
