Joyce M. Murphy, 60, Palestine, IL, died at 4:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005 at the home of her mother-in-law, Vivian Murphy after an extended illness. She was born May 4, 1945 in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Henry Bailey and Betty Hanson Bailey.
She was a bookkeeper for the Robinson-Palestine Water Commission for 31 years.
She married Mike Murphy August 6, 1965 and he survives. She is also survived by her mother, Betty Bailey, Palestine; her daughter, Susann Murphy, Avon, IN; her sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Rick Richardson, Palestine; and 4 nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine with Brother John Brand officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to the Lincolnland Hospice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
