Fred M. "Toad" McGee, 87, Oblong, passed away Tuesday June 24, 2003 at his residence in Oblong. Toad was born January 27, 1916 in Oblong and was the son of Seth W. & Grace (Mann) McGee Sr. On April 29, 1936 he married Neva J. Holmes and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage together. Toad was a bartender in Oblong for 49 years. He was a member of the Oblong Central United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the Robinson Moose Lodge, Robinson, Illinois. His hobbies included yard work and his garden. Toad is survived by his wife Neva; one brother Seth McGee Jr.; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers George, Richard and Randall McGee; one sister Sarah Bachelor. Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery.
