Helen Louise Malcom, 80, of Ciboloa, TX formerly of Palestine, IL died at Boerne, TX on Wednesday, August 27, 2003. She was born Marh 8 1923 in Palestine, the daughter of Henry Russell and Goldie York Russell.

She was a resident of Cibolo, TX for over 20 years, retiring from J. C. Penny Co. with over 25 years of service. She loved flower gardening, tending to her toy poodle, "Belle", was a member of the Rolling Oaks Christian CHurch, and a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She married W. W. "Bill" Malcom and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by per parents; 3 sisters, Doris Russell, Kathryn Creek and Bernice Long; her brother, Glenn Russell; and her grandson, W.R. Malcom, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Walter R. Malcom, San Antonio, TX; her daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Douglas Mikus, Boerne, TX; 4 grandchildren, Cassandra Malcom, Linda Malcom, Bryan Mikus, Leslie Mikus; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, August 29, 2003 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Schertz Funeral Home, Schertz, TX. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at the Palestine Cemetery on Tuesday, Septemeber 2, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Paster James Delaney III is in charge of services. Goodwine Funeral Home is charge of local arrangements.
