Bettye E. Lindsey, 77, Wheaton, Illinois formerly of Oblong, Illinois and The Villages, Florida passed away Thursday, November 29, 2007, at 12:45 p.m. at Brighton Gardens of Wheaton, Wheaton, Illinois. Born on February 8, 1930, in Crawford County, she was the daughter of Delphin J. Lewis and Lucy Pearl (Murray) Lewis.
Bettye was a graduate of Oblong High School Class of 1948. She was a homemaker and interior designer. She was a previous member of the First Christian Church, Oblong. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening and home decorating.
On April 17, 1949, she married Max E. Lindsey, who preceded her in death on October 5, 2003. Also preceding her in death were her parents and one sister, Donna.
She is survived by two daughers and sons-in-law, Susan & Steven Early and Cathy & Robert Broman; three grandchildren and spouses, Jami & Greg Lason, Lori & Paul Bode and Scott & Angela Broman; two great-grandchildren, Madeline and Kyle Lason; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Imogene Lindsey, Neva & Harold Otey, Blodwyn Price, Mary Lou Lindsey and Ruby & Jess Newbold; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial is in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, IL.
