Delmar L. "Dick" Lewis, 86, died Monday January 21, 2005 at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois. Dick was born December 11, 1918 in the son of Joseph W. Lewis and Myrl C. (Berryhill) Lewis. On December 23, 1942 he married Juanita P. Jones, who survives. Dick was a farmer from 1947 until his retirement in 1983. He was a Marine veteran of WWII who was stationed at Pearl Harbor when it was attack. Dick was an Air Mechanic and also served in the Asiatic & Pacific area. He was a member of Oblong Wesleyan Church, Oblong Antique Engine & Tractor Club, Oblong American Legion Post #219 and the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. Dick enjoyed watching motorcycle and auto racing, walking in the woods and mushroom hunting.

Dick is survived by his wife Juanita; two sons and daughters-in-laws Donald & Martha Lewis and John & Sue Ellen Lewis; two daughters Janet Hoult-Newton and Carolyn Walls; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one cousin Ilene Kirt; nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law Beth Woozley.

His parents, four brothers Delphin, Darrell and two infant brothers; three sisters Betty Ross, Bertha Crouse and Florence Moody all preceded Dick in death.

Burial will be in Hardinville Cemetery, Hardinville, Illinois.
