Berdena F. Leggitt, age 82 of Palestine, IL, died October 24, 2005 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN. She was born June 7, 1923 in Rich Woods vicinity, Montgomery Township, IL, the daughter of Charles and Mabel (Fulling) Buntin. She was employed by the Village of Palestine from 1973-1989. She served as Village Clerk for 12 of those years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Palestine.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and David Winger, Palestine; 2 grandchildren and their spouses, David and Debbie Reinbold, Palestine and Cathy and Rick Horner, Navarre, OH; 1 step granddaughter, Christy Winger, Colorado Springs, CO; 5 great grandchildren, Kayla, Samantha, and Sarah Reinbold and Kurt and Wyatt Bramel; sister-in-law, Nora Lee Buntin; dear friend, Patty Bates; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers Lloyd, Harold, Leonard, Leo and Brooks Buntin.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 28, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine with Rev. John Brand officiating. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursdays, October 27th at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.
