Delbert LeRoy Kirk, Sr., 76 of Robinson, IL, died t 4:00 a.m. Sunday, July 01, 2007 at the Danville V. A. Illiana Health Care System in Danville, IL. He was born April 3, 1931 in Robinson, IL, the son of Donald Kirk Sr. and Leatha Sara Lamb Kirk.

Delbert was a construction worker and a roofer. He served in the U. S. Army from 1948 to 1950, serving in Japan. He was a Lifetime member of the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549 and was a member of the Robinson Chaplin Street Church of Christ.

He married Shirley Newcomb on July 11, 1981 and she survives. He is also survived by his step-daughter Vickie Lachenmayr Roeser and her husband, Kevin Roeser of Olney; his three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Beverly Kirk, Robinson, Delbert Lynn Kirk, Robinson, and Ricky Kirk, Las Vegas, NV; his daughter, Beverly Ruth Goff, Robinson; a sister and brother-in-law, Velma and Wayne Couch, Woodstock, GA; 5 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Donald Kirk, Gerold Dean Kirk, and Jack Kirk; and an infant sister, Irma Jean Kirk.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 4th at 10:30 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Brother Raymond Warfel is in charge of services with burial in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation is from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday preceding the service until service time at 10:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549 Transportation Fund with envelopes at the funeral home.
