Sylvia Mae Kimberlin, age 94 of Palestine, IL, died at 6:35 p.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center in Robinson. She was born April 20, 1911 in Claremont, IL the daughter of John Cummins and Bertha Thomas Cummins. She and was a member of the Palestine First Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Vera Buchanan, Palestine; 8 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Flossie Lackey, Lawrenceville.
Sylvia married Johnnie Kimberlin on September 13, 1929 and he preceded her in death on June 25, 1953. She was also preceded by her 3 sons, Bob Kimberlin, Jim Kimberlin, and Bill Kimberlin; 5 brothers, Lester Cummins, Cleo Cummins, Herman Cummins, and 2 brothers in infancy, Wilbur and Lyman Cummins; and her sister, Velma Hill.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17th at the Palestine Cemetery with Rev. John Brand officiating. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
