Robert E. Kelly, 62 of Robinson, IL, died Friday, July 22, 2005 at Carle Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born September 27, 1942 in Robinson, the son of Donald N. and Betty Wood Kelly. Bob served in the U. S. Marines in Japan, was a member of the Robinson American Legion Post #69 for 34 years, had been a member of the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549 and the Robinson Moose Lodge. He had been employed as a carpet layer for Goodwine Home Furnishings, was employed at Connor and Connor, Inc., worked in the decoker at Marathon, and had been a commercial fisherman for several years.

He married Janice Wood on October 5, 1963 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Ka Su Kelly, Martinsville, IN; his son, D. J. Kelly, Robinson; his sister and brother-in-law, Janice and John Cox, Martinsville, IL; 2 nieces; 1 great niece; and 2 great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 25th at 7:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Rev. Max Borah is in charge of the service. Visitation is from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, preceding the service. Memorials may be made to the Robinson United Methodist Church or to the Food Pantry with envelopes at the funeral home.
