Floyd A. Hinterscher 77 Oblong, IL. Died Thursday September 21, 2000 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. Floyd was born January 29, 1923 in Olney, IL. He was the son of Adam & Claire (Fehrenbacher) Hinterscher.
On September 9, 1947, he married Mildred Buerster. Floyd owned and operated Floyd's Place in Oblong for over 40 years. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. Floyd was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Oblong American Legion Post #219, Crawford County V.F.W. Post #4549, Knights of Columbus of Newton and Robinson Moose Lodge #1369. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Fan and enjoyed his garden and mowing his yard.
Floyd is survived by his wife Mildred; 4 Sons - Tom, Ron, Tim and Kevin Hinterscher; 3 Daughters and Sons-In-Law - Jan & Doug Long, Rita & Keith Wirey and Tammy & Dave Jaben; 14 Grandchildren; 1 Great Granddaughter; 1 Sister - Theresa Stark; Several Nieces & Nephews.
Floyd was preceded in death By his Parents, 1 Daughter (Diane Hinterscher) & 1 Brother (George Hinterscher).
Burial in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong IL. Military Rites conducted by Oblong American Legion Post #219.
