Dorothea Louise "Dottie" Ferguson, 76, Robinson, Illinois passed away at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at her residence. Born on September 5, 1930, in Boston, Massachusetts she was the daughter of Augustinus L. Verboven and Marie M. (Van Steenberghe) Verboven. She was a homemaker and retired as Postmaster from the Stoy, Illinois Post Office in 1985. Dorothea graduated from Brighton High School, Brighton, Massachusetts Class of 1948. She was a lifelong Christian with a generous heart. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was an avid reader for many years.

On April 10, 1950, she married Philip Ryan who preceded her in death. On July 20, 1961, she married Billy Joe Ferguson, who preceded her in death on July 23, 1985. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two sons, Philip Wesley & Michael Dennis Ryan; one brother, Arthur Verboven; and one great-granddaughter, Theresa Knoff.

Survivors include one son, Daniel Ferguson; two daughters, Susan & Edward Knoff and Darnell & Daniel Schalasky; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-granddchildren and one sister, Esther Meegan.

Burial of cremated remains in Palestine Cemetery at a later date.
