Sandra Sue Eveland, 63, of Palestine, IL, died at 4:15 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2004 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Palestine, IL. She was born June 18, 1940 in Lawrence County, IL, the daughter of Porter Collins and Mary Bennett Collins. She was a member of the Palestine Jr. Women's Club and the Ladies Auxiliary Fraternal Order of Eagles, Palestine.

She married Everett Eugene Eveland in Princeton, IN on October 23, 1957. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and 2 sisters, Margie Collins and Lou Shoulders.

She is survived by 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry and Vickie Eveland, Palestine and James Eveland, Porterville; her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Thomas Herlocher, Sr, Palestine; 1 grandson and his spouse, Thomas and Candy Herlocher, Jr, Palestine; 3 granddaughters, Amanda Herlocher, Palestine, Danielle Eveland, Vincennes, IN, Ashley Eveland, Hutsonville; 1 great granddaughter, Heaven Herlocher, Palestine; 4 step grandsons, Luke Cooley, Indiana, Levi Recheck, Palestine, Lance and Justin Traxler, Robinson; 2 step great grandsons, Konner Traxler, Casey, Landon Traxler, Robinson; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Ann Collins, Lawrenceville, Paul and Mary Collins, Flat Rock; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and Earl Umfleet, Sumner, Patricia and John Kasinger, Lynda and Mark Wilson and Susan and Tom Franklin, all of Palestine; her mother-in-law, Lucy Carver, Robinson; 2 brothers-in-law and spouses, Charles and Judy Eveland, Robinson, Darrell and Bertha Eveland, Atwood; 4 sisters-in-law and their spouses, Joyce and Jerry Rigg, Florida, Patsy and Wayne Kirk, Fairborn, OH, Sandy and Mitch Mitchell, Attica, IN, and Melody Ramsey, Robinson; 1 step brother-in-law, Danny Eveland, Robinson, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine with Pastor Rollie Saver in charge of services. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 16th and until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
