Mary E. English, 92, Robinson, IL, died at 11:06 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at her home. She was born December 21, 1911 in Oblong, IL the daughter of Stephen Daron and Annie Mae King Daron. She retired in 1983 as a social worker for the state of Illinois after 27 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Robinson, the Robinson Women's Club, the D.A.R., the ladies of the Moose, the Robinson Elks and the Quail Creek Country Club.
She married Loren G. English in 1929 and he preceded her November 7, 1952. She was also preceded by her parents and 3 brothers; William Daron, Jack Daron and Chester A. Daron, 5 sisters: Maxine Anglin, Edna Daron, Eleanor Daron, Ann Meierhoff and Mildred Kelly.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law; Margaret and Arden Sackrider, Robinson, her brother; Paul C. Daron, Robinson, 5 nieces and 2 nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson with Clinton Batcheller officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
