Jan R. Drummond, 55 of Palestine, IL, died at 1:00 p.m. (C.S.T.) Friday, February 16, 2007 at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN after a brief illness. She was born October 4, 1951 in Sullivan, IN, the daughter of Charles Vaughn and Maxine McDaniel Vaughn Spence.

She worked for over 30 years at the Victor Products of the Dana Corporation in their accounting department. She attended the Palestine First United Methodist Church, graduated from the Palestine High School and Olney Central College, and was an avid Nascar and St. Louis Cardinal fan. She was a member and treasurer of the Palestine Grant-in-Aid scholarship fund.

Jan is survived by her mother and step father, Maxine and Lawrence Spence, Palestine; her sister Charleen Finch, Evansville, IN; her step brother and his wife, Keith and Cathy Spence, West Salem; 3 step sisters and their spouses, Barbara and Frank Norberto, Crawfordsville, FL, Kay and B. J. Marcum, Jonesboro, GA, Janice and William Taylor, Jackson, MS; her nephew and his spouse, Gabriel and Cathy Finch, Marion, IA; her aunt and her husband, Doris and Don Crail, Kingsford Heights, IN , her uncle and his wife, John and Carol McDaniel, Walkerton, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 21st at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Brother John Brand and Rev. Ruth Waite are in charge of services. Burial is in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 20th at the funeral home, and prior to the service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Palestine Grant-in-Aid Scholarship Fund with envelopes at the funeral home.
