Frank Dart, 73, passed away Sunday June 11, 2006 at 7:58 p.m. at his home. Born February 19, 1933 in rural Oblong, IL he was the son of Oakley T. Dart and Susie (Baker) Dart / Wilson. On August 26, 1955 Frank married Janet (Russell). Frank was a retired farmer, he began his employment with Oblong Twp. in 1966 and became Road Commissioner in June of 1970. He served as Road Commissioner until June of 2001. He continued to serve Oblong Twp. until his death. In his earlier years he worked as a driller for Beckner Drilling Company. Frank was converted and baptized on April 22, 1946 and was a member at the First Christian Church of Oblong. In recent years, he attended the First Baptist Church of Oblong. Frank was an avid mushroom hunter.
Frank is survived by his wife, Janet; one son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Sarah Dart; one daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Rusty McMahon; grandchildren, Michelle and Keith McCully, Jesse Dart, Talia Dart & fiance Justin Dean, Blake Highsmith and Krystle Garman, Eric French, Lisa French and Abbie Dart; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Betty Dart; two sisters and brother-in-law, Norma Yates, Karen and Mackie Woods; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Imogene Shryock, Charlotte Shryock, Jim and Connie Russell, Sue Russell, Pat and Lee Rogers. Frank is preceded by his parents, step-father, Fay Wilson and son, Jeff.
