Marie Chapman, 88, of Robinson, IL, died at 3:05 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2007 at the Burnside Nursing Home, Casey, IL. She was born June 28, 1919 in Crawford County, IL, the daughter of Joseph Clarence Rich and Vada Gladys Simons Rich.
She was a homemaker and cleaned houses for many local residents. She was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Robinson.
She married Arthur M. Chapman March 26, 1942 and he preceded her in death on March 27, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Elsie Sutphin, her son-in-law, Lawrence Kennelly; and 2 brothers-in-law, James Gilbert and Oakley Sutphin.
She is survived by 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Joyce Kennelly, University Park, IL, Judy and Michael Bowlsby, Lacy, WA, Lois and Sebastian Maurice, Valparaiso, FL; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; her sister, Evelyn Gilbert, Martinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2007 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson with Rev. Kevin Small officiating. Burial will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday and until the service time on Friday. Memorials may be made to the Burnsides Guild with envelopes available at the funeral home.
