Lester Gordon Briner, 50, of Robinson, IL, died Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at 3:15 p.m. at Monroe City, Missouri. He was born September 19, 1953 in Louisville, KY, the son of Harold Sharon Briner and Joyce Biddle Briner. He was a service technician for Yargus Manufacturing in Marshall and owned and operated his own truck. He was a member of the Prior Grove Baptist Church and the Eastern Illinois Sportsmen Club.

He married Julia Mae Flenner January 18, 1985 and she survives. He is also survived by his mother, Joyce Biddle Briner Ford, Irvington, KY; 4 sons, Anthony Briner, Robinson, Bryan Briner, Annapolis, Kevin Briner and Mathew Briner both at home; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Jo Beth Briner, Calhoon, GA; 2 half brothers, Dean Ford and Mike Ford of Irvington, KY; 6 half sisters, Sue Board, Irvington, KY, Cindy Smith, Irvington, KY, Sandy Coomer, Sharon Coomer, Charlene Darland, Paula Swink, all of Irvington, KY; 1 granddaughter, Bridgett Katlyn Briner, Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Briner; a brother, Tommy Briner; grandparents, Lester and Violet Mitchell.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2004 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Pastor Don Houdasheldt officiating. Burial will be in the Prior Grove Cemetery, rural Oblong. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 16th from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Prior Grove Cemetery Association.
