Chuck Ballard, 77 of Robinson, IL, died at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, January 09, 2007 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born June 14, 1929 in Sullivan, IN, the son of James Coleman Ballard and Mary Ann Sluder Ballard.

He had been employed by the Kroger Co., A. & P. Grocery, and I. G. A. He then worked in sales for Prudential Insurance Co. for 27 years and was the Sales Manager for Prudential in Linton, IN and Robinson. After his retirement, he worked as a salesman for J. D. Mullins Co. in Palestine for 7 years. He was a member and Elder Emeritus at the Robinson First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. He had been a member of the Lincoln Trail Campers Club; the Robinson Elks Lodge # 1188; and the Robinson Jaycees.

He married Doris Jean Knotts on June 19, 1949 and she survives. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Vicki Ballard, Robinson; his daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Steve Eitel, Robinson; 3 grandchildren and their spouses, Robb and Jennifer Kirchoff, Robinson, Michelle and Brian Lockhart, Linton, IN, Michael Ballard and his girlfriend, Tonya Schernekau, Robinson; 4 great grandchildren, Brittanie Kirchoff, Ryan Kirchoff, Preston Lockhart, and Sydney Lockhart; his sister Virginia Scully, Sullivan, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Ed Scully.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 13th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Rev. Robert Rixman is in charge of services. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Visitation is from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 12th. Memorials may be made to the Robinson First Christian Church Disciples of Christ with envelopes available at the funeral home.
