Jane Elizabeth Adams, 80, of Palestine, IL, died at 2:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center in Robinson. She was born September 3, 1923 in rural Palestine, the daughter of John N. Maddox and Mattie Cook Maddox. She was a homemaker and a member of the Palestine First Christian Church.

Jane married Fay Adams on September 19, 1940 and he survives. She is also survived by 3 children and their spouses, Barbara and Robert Weaver, Zion, IL, Dr. James L. and Kathy Adams, Ann Arbor, MI, Joyce Adams, Champaign; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; her brother, John Maddox, Palestine, and her sister, Ruth Lankston, Palestine.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers, Leo "Jack" Maddox, Lloyd Maddox, Roy Maddox, and Mildford Maddox; and her sister, Irene Maddox.

Funeral services are Friday, June 18, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Rev. James Delaney III is in charge of services. Burial is in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 17th. Memorials may be made to the Palestine First Christian Church, with envelopes at the funeral home
