1. Owen Seaney was born in 1745 in Kent Co., DE.

General Notes: From 'Lawrence County, Illinois', 1996, p305:

"Owen Seaney was born in Kent County, DE in 1745. He served as a private in the Maryland Line in Revolutionary War. After the war he went to Rowan County, SC where in 1780 married Honor Estep, daughter of Thomas Estep and Susanna Holmes. They were parents of ten children, Samuel, John, Bryant, Isaac, Jacob Owen, Jr, Katie, Susan, Sarah and Nimrod.

Times were hard along the Atlantic Coast after the war, Owen having a pioneer spirit, he and sins Bryan, Owen, Samuel and John emigrated to Wayne County, IN in 1810. They were farmers. In 1818 Samuel and Bryan moved to Crawford County, IL and purchased farmland. Samuel had married Cathren (Catherine) Wishon Jan 2, 1805 while living in North Carolina. The Wishons were from Germany and were gun makers. They went to Missouri about the time Seaneys to Indiana. Samuel and Catherine were parents of 12 children: Elizabeth, Polly, Minta, Lucy, Susan, John, Clarissa, Matilda, Samuel, Jr, Nimond, Margaret and Honor."

Owen married Honor Estep, daughter of Thomas Estep and Susanna Holmes.

Children from this marriage were:

+ 2 M    i. Samuel Seaney was born on 2 Nov 1781 in Surry Co., North Carolina, died on 2 Nov 1866 in Crawford Co., IL at age 85, and was buried in Seaney Cemetery, Montgomery Twp., Crawford Co., IL.
