Location: Section 11, Township 7 North, Range 14 West, Oblong Township, Crawford County, Illinois (GPS: 39.0682746, -87.9375023) (Google Map). In past records this cemetery was known as the CURTIS Cemetery

Compiled and checked by Norman K. Miller, Crawford County Genealogical Society, Robinson, Illinois. First checked as of June 30, 1994. Rechecked and updated as of September 15, 2003. Reformatted by Burl Rich (1-20-2004) and again by Larry Jackson (January 2016). Previously, records were compiled by Imogene Bailey and Wilma Roseler on December 3, 1972. Some monuments were weathered by age and were difficult to read; in those cases they were checked by older records to verify the information.

A lot of data was taken from the White Oak Cemetery Plat Book, maintained by the Cemetery Sexton. As of September 15, 2003 were 509 known graves. The oldest death date known was for Nancy J. Miller, wife of Daniel Miller, July 28, 1852. That monument is still readable. Nancy Miller's remains were moved from the "Sears Cemetery" to White Oak, November 25, 1989. The most recent date of death was for Victor Brough, June 15, 2003. For entries that show no monument, if there are dates there, they were taken from the White Oak Cemetery Plat Book.

White Oak Cemetery was started about 1875; the oldest marker found being that of Mary J. Curtis, wife of L. B. Curtis, 1875. A two year old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Will Curtis was the first person buried there. One and one half acres of land was deeded to Crawford County for the use of the trustees of the Christian Church by L. B. and Anna F. Curtis on April 9, 1886. The church gained more ground behind the church for more burials in the early 1990s.

The most common surnames in the cemetery are: Curtis 35 graves, Miller 35 graves, and Baker 31 graves, and Musgrave 20 graves.
