Following is one of the Biographies and Stories which where gathered by Charles Sumner McKamy in the 1950s for publication in a Crawford County History Book. Unfortunately he passed away before the book was published.

Boatright, Peggy McCoy, grandmother of Harold D. Truitt, who was daughter of Alexander and Sarah McCoy and early settlers of Hutsonville, Ill. She was a sister of William Squire and John McCoy; she was the mother of Mary (Boatright) Truitt, and Mary’s husband Robert Truitt came to Crawford County in 1834. Peggy was the grandmother of Luther, Margaret (Carpenter), Dora (Willard) Truitt; Luther and Ida Minnick Truitt had five children, Clyde, Harry, Robert and Mattie; Henry and Estella (Mills) Truitt had two boys, Harold Daniel and Ken; Harold D. Truitt and Mary Kibler Truitt have one son, Alan.
