Kaye Newingham Smedley, 1938-2008, Beardstown
   Kaye Newingham Smedley, 69, of Beardstown, died Sunday morning, March 23, 2008, at her residence.
   She was born Aug. 29, 1938, in Beardstown, the daughter of W.L. and Margaret Foster Newingham. She married Larry Smedley on Oct. 29, 1959, and he preceded her in death.
   She is survived by one son, Jeff (wife, Stephanie) of Frederick; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Barbara Newingham of Beardstown and Kathy (husband, Richard) Crum of Rushville. She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Newingham.
   Mrs. Smedley was a 1957 graduate of Beardstown High School. She worked for the State of Illinois as a clerk and also as a tour guide for many years. She had also worked for a time as an agent with Frontier Airlines in Denver. After her retirement she worked for the Beardstown Public Library and the Beardstown Museum. She was a member of St. Alexius Catholic Church in Beardstown and Red Hat Ladies.
   A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Alexius Catholic Church in Beardstown, with burial at St. Alexius Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Cass-Schuyler Hospice or to an Educational Fund for her grandchildren.

   Velma Lou Smedly, 75, of Brookfield, MO and formerly of Beardstown, IL, died Sunday, February 23, 2014 at University Hospital in Columbia, MO.
   She was born September 7, 1938 in Beardstown, the daughter of Orville Myron White and Ruth E. Newbern White Hahn. She married Donald Browning in 1956 in Schuyler County and he preceded her in death in 1959, then married Roger Lee Mallicoat in 1963 in Beardstown and he preceded her in death and later married Jake Smedly on November 17, 1972 in Beardstown and he preceded in death on September 8, 1991
   .She is survived by two sons, Steve (Tammy) Browning of Bucklin, MO and Roger Lee Mallicoat, II of Springfield, IL; two daughters, Debbie (Wesley) Young of Beardstown and Leah (Don) Malone of Rushville, IL; fifteen grandchildren, Bridgett, Felicia, Samuel, Joshua, Hannah, Ashley, Tyler, Noah, Justin, Nicholas, Rachel, Dillon, Caleb, Missy and Amanda; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Susan Browning; one granddaughter, Sarah Malone Waters; two great-granddaughters, Holli and Jessica Harker; and one brother, Rudie Myron White (surviving wife, Marianne of Bartonville, IL.)
   Velma was employed as a cook on the ACBL Barge Line and at various restaurants. She enjoyed flower gardening, watching Food Network and craftwork, especially sewing and crocheting.
   Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown with burial at Beardstown City Cemetery. Family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Brookfield Senior Center or Rushville Help Center.    Winifred J. "Winnie Jo" Smedley, 90, of Ashland, died Thursday, December 21, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
   She was born June 13, 1926 in Virginia; the daughter of Harold and Leota Acres Wankel. She married Gordon L. Smedley on April 19, 1947 in Philadelphia and he survives.
   She is also survived by two daughters, Lyn Dietz (husband, Roger), Jacksonville and Sandra Davis (husband, Greg), Springfield; four grandchildren, Beth Hopkins (husband, Jeff), Jacksonville, Becky Mahoney (husband, Michael), rural Alexander, Brett Leach, Alexander, and Andy Davis, Springfield; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack Wankel (wife, Helen), Literberry; and several nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Harold "Sonny" Wankel and three nephews.
   Mrs. Snedley was a 1944 graduate of Virginia High School. She was employed several years by the State of Illinois and was a long time homemaker. She was a member of the Ashland Church of Christ and was active in the Ashland Women's Club.
   Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Massie-Buchanan Funeral Home in Ashland with burial in Ashland Cemetery. The family met with friends Tuesday at the funeral home. Bessie Lou Smith - 1924-2003 - Virginia
   Bessie Lou Smith, 79, of Jacksonville, and formerly of Virginia, died Saturday afternoon, June 21, 2003 at the Golden Moments Senior Care Center in Jacksonville.
   She was born Jan. 17, 1924, in Virginia, the daughter of Lee and Bessie Revis Sherrill. She married Allen E. Smith Aug. 12, 1941, in Bowling Green, Mo., and he preceded in death Oct. 1, 2002.
   She is survived by one son, Rick E. Smith (wife, Sara) of Incline Village, Nev.; two grandchildren; one sister, Bettie Lee Settles of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Ruby Harris, Lee Edda Hartman, June White, Alberta Zillion, and Mary Ellen Briggs.
   Mrs. Smith was employed for 30 years at Fiat-Allis in Springfield prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Virginia United Methodist Church.
   Private family funeral services will be held later with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. There will be no visitation.    Billie Dean Smith, 20, of Arenzville, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at his home.
   He was born Dec. 24, 1993, in Ft. Hood, TX. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Michelle and Kevin Dober; two stepsisters, Madeline and Victoria; his father, Earl Smith and his fiancé Brooke, and her children Bailey and Cooper; maternal grandparents, Wayne and Darlene Merkel; and paternal grandparents, Billie and Earlene Smith. Billie was preceded in death by his son, Sonny; and grandmother, Wanda Smith.
    Billie graduated from Triopia and was a student at Lincoln Land Community College. He was a kind and gentle soul who was always ready with a hug or a witty story, and was an avid lover of kitty cats. He never knew a stranger and was a talented musician and actor. You couldn’t help but smile when you were around him. Billie will be missed dearly.
   Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville.    Alan D. Smith, 62, of rural Tallula, IL died Monday, November 24, 2014, at his home.
   He was born July 26, 1952 in Jacksonville, the son of Donald E. and Elizabeth Jean Mathew Smith.
   He is survived by his mother, Jean of Virginia; two brothers, David Smith (wife, Joan) of Springfield and Gary Smith (companion, Lizabeth Lucas) of Pleasant Plains; an uncle and aunt, Darrell and Lavelda Smith of Virginia; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father.
   Alan graduated from Ashland High School and attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He farmed in the Cass and Menard County area. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and the beauty of nature.
   Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Virginia with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia.    Florence Corrine Smith, 94, of Virginia, IL died Saturday, December 24, 2011 at the Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
   She was born March 19, 1917 in Philadelphia, IL; the daughter of Edward and Catherine Thompson Logan. She married Virgil Revis and he preceded her in death in 1979 and she later married Fred Smith and he preceded her in death in 1998.
   She is survived by special family friends, Marilyn McLin and Greg Noe, both of Wilmington; several step children; several step grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Elmer, George, Ray, and William and nine sisters, Ida, Daisy, Iva, Rose, Lena, Mary Frances, Evelyn, Laura, and Kathryn.
   Mrs. Smith was employed as a waitress for 40 years at the Rossi’s Restaurant and Briggs Restaurant, both in Virginia. She was a member of Chandlerville Baptist Church.

Duane Smith - 1921-2003 - Virginia
   Duane Smith, 81, of Virginia, died Monday evening, May 5, 2003 at the Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
   He was born Dec. 14, 1921 in Ashland, the son of George Granville and Thelma Clemons Smith. He married Alberta L. Krieg June 2, 1946, at the Ashland United Methodist Church in Ashland, and she preceded in death on Aug. 25, 1995.
   He is survived by two sons, the Rev. Russell (wife, Karen) of Danville and Randy (wife, Arlene) of Virginia; one daughter, Nancy (husband, Ron) Knous of Petersburg; six grandchildren, Alisa Smith-Reetz of East Peoria, Robert Smith of Danville, Casey Smith and Bonnie Jean Smith of Virginia, Ericka Knous and Zachary Knous of Petersburg; two brothers, Donald (wife, Jean) of Virginia and Darrell (wife, Lavelda) of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
   Mr. Smith was retired from farming in 1984. Recently, he worked for the Philadelphia Township Road District and assisted his neighbors with mowing and farm maintenance. He was a member of the Virginia United Methodist Church and the Cass-Morgan Farm Bureau. He served with the 521st Signal Corps of the 12th US Army Air Force during WW II based in North Africa, Italy, and the Mediterranean Theater for which he was awarded four Battle Stars. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, rock collecting and reading everything related to aviation. He was a student of native American life and maintained a collection of Indian artifacts.
   Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Virginia United Methodist Church in Virginia with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia.    Donald E. Smith, 84, of Virginia, IL, and formerly of Ashland, IL, died Friday, June 18, 2010 at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
   He was born March 13, 1926 in Cass County, the son of Granville and Thelma Clemons Smith. He married Elizabeth Jean Mathew on Jan. 12, 1947 in Newmanville, IL, and she survives. He is also survived by three sons, David (wife, Joan) Smith, Alan Smith and Gary Smith (companion, Lizabeth Lucas); one brother, R. Darrell (wife, Lavelda) Smith; eight nephews and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and sister-in-law, Duane and Alberta Smith.
   Mr. Smith was a member of Virginia United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of Virginia Masonic Lodge #544 AF & AM. Upon retirement after 42 years of farming, Don and Jean spent many years camping, fishing, visiting with friends and relatives and staying active in community affairs. He was a prolific woodcarver.

   Margaret P. Smith, 93, of Virginia, IL died Friday, May 13, 2011 at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
   She was born July 23, 1917 in Atterberry, IL; the daughter of Tade and May Miller Atterberry. She married John Sallee and they were later divorced. She later married Raymond “Raymie” Smith on December 12, 1962 and he preceded her in death on March 1, 1984.
   She is survived by a daughter, Mary Stuhmer (husband, Darrel) of Waverly; a son, John W. Sallee (wife, Marine) of Anchorage, AK; a step son, Gayle “Booter” Smith of Texas; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, David Atterberry (wife, Audrey) of Buffalo; and several nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by a son, Herbert Sallee (surviving wife, Pat of Billings, MT); five brothers, Jesse, George, Junior, Carl and Ralph Atterberry; and two sisters, Geraldine McDole and Naomi Aden.
   Mrs. Smith was an accomplished seamstress who utilized her skill to assist many families for over 50 years. She also worked as a nurse aide in nursing homes in the Virginia area and provided home health care for several area residents.
   Graveside funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Monday, May 16, 2011 at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia.    Paul Wayne Smith, 82, of Virginia, IL died Sunday, October 24, 2010 at his residence.
   He was born February 1, 1928 in Sommerville, IN; the son of Clarence and Amy Jenkins Smith. He married Alberta Jaeger on April 17, 1949 in Harvel, IL and she survives.
   He is also survived by two daughters, Linda Finch (husband, Dwight) of Ft. Pierce, FL and Paula Smith of St. Louis, MO; two grandsons, Bryan Finch (wife, Jennifer) of Atlanta, GA and Aaron Finch of Rumson, NJ; two great granddaughters, Harper and Bailey Finch; two sisters, Phyllis Angelo (husband, Vince) of Orlando, FL and Carol Paulson of Madison, WI; four nieces; and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marian Keith.
   Mr. Smith was a 1946 graduate of Morrisonville High School and served with the US Navy during the end of WW II. He was employed at Peabody Coal Mine in Langleyville from 1948-1950 and later at the Shell Oil Refinery in Woodriver from 1950-1963. He became a Western Auto dealer in 1963 relocating to Virginia where he operated a store for 25 years until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Beardstown.
   Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 29, 2010 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beardstown with the Rev. Douglas Evenson officiating. The family will meet friends at the church from 10:00 AM Friday until the time of services. Committal services will be held 3:30 PM Friday at the Morrisonville Cemetery in Morrisonville.    Roberta M. Smith, 88, of Springfield, formerly of Chandlerville, passed away at her home at 12:35 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2010. She was born September 13, 1921 in Saidora TWP, in Mason County, IL to Orville and Maize (Richards) Shoemaker. She married Milton L. Smith on July 30, 1938. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1995.
   Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Marsha (Bob) Brancecum and Veronica Falconburg, both of Springfield, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is one brother, Clyde Shoemaker, of Chandlerville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Myron Lee Smith, daughter, Mary Louise Nelson, brother Floyd Shoemaker and sister, Marjorie Helton.
   Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Bethel Cemetery near Bath. Rev. Terry Sims will officiate.

   Terry D. Smith, 74, of South Jacksonville, IL and formerly of Virginia, IL died Saturday, July 18, 2015, at his residence.
   He was born July 9, 1941 in rural Virginia, the son of Lloyd B and Irma Sweatman Smith. He married Shirley Dotzert on October 14, 1962 and later married Edith Winder Smith on April 20, 1996.
   Terry is survived by his children, Denoy (Lisa) Smith of Hastings, NE, and Sonya (Curt) Stowers of Naperville, IL; his step-children, Diane Monroe of Jacksonville, Brad (Mel) Smith of Bloomington, IL, and Julie (Scott) Marshall of Bloomington, IL; three grandchildren, Amanda Stowers of Stanford, CA, Alex Stowers and Casey Stowers both of Naperville, IL; seven step-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; his sister, Wanda Kay Smith of Virginia, IL; many nieces and nephews; his first wife, Shirley D. Arnold of Jacksonville, IL; and his special friend, Betty Means of Jacksonville, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Smith, and both his parents.
   A 1960 graduate of Virginia High School, Terry was employed at J. Capps & Sons in Jacksonville where he also served as president of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Local 199. He later worked at Anderson-Clayton Foods, farmed in Cass County, and was a salesman for Brown’s Shoe Fit Co. and Famous Barr/Macy’s.
   He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Jacksonville and previously attended Grace Lutheran, Faith Lutheran, and Lincoln Ave. Baptist Churches. He enjoyed volunteering at Passavant Hospital, sports, hunting, fishing, and time spent with his family and friends. His fondest memories from his youth included playing third base for the Virginia Boys Baseball Team which captured the first ever IESA Championship in 1955 and winning the prize for Grand Champion Steer at the 1956 Cass County Fair.
   Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, July 25, 2015, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville with Rev. Ronald Heard officiating. The family will meet friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday. Cremation will be accorded following the services. Virgil Fred Smith, 1915-2008, Beardstown
   Virgil Fred Smith, 93, of Beardstown, passed away Friday afternoon, May 23, 2008, at Heritage Manor East in Beardstown.
   He was bon on May 15, 1915, in Cooperstown. He was the son of Harrison David and Grace Bunfill Smith. He married Emma Gene Quinn on May 17, 1936, in Cass County. She preceded him in death in 1980.
   He is survived by Doris Tritsch of Beardstown, his companion of 28 years; one son, David (wife, Ellen) Smith of Beardstown; one daughter, Ruth Ann (husband, Eddie) Martin of Chandlerville; two sisters, Norma Spencer of Beardstown and Nelda Smith of Panama City, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Virgil (wife, Carolyn) Smith of Jacksonville, Dr. Douglas (wife, Lori) Smith of Columbia, Mo., Marcia (husband, Charles) Rayot of Chatham, Dawn (husband, Bert) Rawlings of Tolono, Lisa Lee of Houston and Bridget Wilcox and Andy Wilcox of North Zulch, Texas; 12 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren as well as Doris' daughter, Lyn (husband, George) Belville, and son Butch (wife, Sandy) Tritsch, both of Beardstown. He was preceded in death by one son, Virgil F. Smith; one brother, Emil Smith; one sister, Elsie Crews; and one grandson, David Smith.
   Mr. Smith's career extended from working on the river at the age of 14, to carpenter, to becoming a wrecker operator for Burlington Northern Railroad. He retired in 1979 after working 13 years as a road construction superintendent for Atwater Construction Co. in Springfield.
   Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. with services scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Burial will be at Beardstown City Cemetery.    Wanda Ruth Smith, 70, of Arenzville died Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born December 13, 1940 in Oliver Springs, TN, the daughter of Roy Lester and Georgia Goans Purdy. She married Billie W. Smith on August 8, 1991 in Clinton, KY. Surviving is her husband Billie Smith of Arenzville; four children Mike (wife Kim) Griffith and Steve Griffith both of Tennessee, Billie Jo (husband Ed) Miller and Earl Smith (companion Brooke Braner) both of Murrayville; four grandchildren Jordan Smith, Billie Smith, Mike Griffith, and Cody Griffith; one greatgrandson Corbin Griffith; and one sister Doris (husband Richard) Kraps of Mesquite, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother James Pat Purdy. Wanda was a homemaker and enjoyed making crafts and going camping. Her favorite pastime was spoiling her grandchildren.    Wayne E. Smith Sr., 79, of Golden, and formerly of Beardstown, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 7, 2007, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
   He was born Aug. 3, 1928, in Bluffs, the son of James and Emma Beahr Smith. He married Betty McGill on July 6, 1948, in Virginia, and she survives.
   He is also survived by three sons, Thomas, (wife, Marsha) of Round Lake Beach, Donald (wife, Betty) of Golden and Wayne "Eddie" Jr. (wife, Margaret) of Terrill, Texas; two daughters, Linda Jones of Dallas and Peggy (husband, Michael) Kile of Caddo Mills, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Beulah Warden of Beardstown; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald; four brothers, Edward "Buck," Dempsey, Galen and Junior; and two sisters, Geneva Reichert and Lily Rose Summey.
   Mr. Smith farmed for Dana Lewis in Hersman for 15 years before moving to Dallas. There he was a printer for Vince Hagan for 15 years retiring in 1989. In 1995, he and his wife moved to Golden where he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, yard work and fishing. He was a good hard-working man and loving dad.
   Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hersman Cemetery in Hersman. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Hunter Funeral Home in Golden.    Willis ďż˝Leoďż˝ Smith, 59 of Browning, died Thursday, August 18, 2011 in his home. He was born March 5, 1952 in Canton, IL, the son of Milbern Leroy Smith and Beverly Ruth Hamm Bechard. He married Janet Morris of Rushville in 1973 and later Christina Hageman of Beardstown. Surviving are his children April Smith Turner, Jamie Lyn Smith (fiancďż˝ Roger Osborn), and Jessica Nicole Smith; four grandchildren; three brothers Jackie Wayne (wife Rosemary), Gerald Allen (wife Verna) and David Glen (wife Joni) Smith; two sisters Nancy Jo (husband Joe) Goff and Kara Renee Bechard; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Janet Kay Smith. Leo attended Rushville High School. He worked for Logsdon Tug Service in Beardstown for 12 years starting out as a deck hand and later he received his pilotďż˝s license. He also owned and operated the Virginia Inn Restaurant. Leo enjoyed playing dice, cards, and fishing, as well as drinking coffee with his friends. Private family services will be held. Memorials have been suggested to Seven County Kidney Fund.    Robert C. Smock, 86, of Ashland, IL died Monday, October 28, 2014 at Capitol Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Springfield, IL.
   He was born May 21, 1928 in Murrayville, IL, the son of Troy and Lena Harney Smock. He married Ruby Newingham on September 21, 1956 and she survives.
   He is also survived by four children, Robert L. Smock (wife, Tina) of Springfield, MO, Twila Hawkins (husband, Mark) of Jacksonville, Kenneth Smock of Ashland, and Barbara Embree (husband, Donald) of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Robert “RJ” Smock, Candis Smock, Johnny Smock, James “JD” Scott, Trista Scott, Mark A. Hawkins, Steven Douglas Six (wife, Kaylee), and Adam Lee Six (wife, Amanda); seven great grandchildren, Bailey, Brennen, Hayden, Mikayla, Trenton, Brooklyn, and Franklin; a brother, Troy Smock of Patterson, MO; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
   Robert served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954 and worked in farming throughout central Illinois for several years. He then began a 30 year career in manufacturing concrete burial vaults for Herman Vault Company in Edinburg and later the Perfection Vault Company in Woodson.
   Graveside military rites will be conducted 12 noon Monday, November 3, 2014 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. The family will meet friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am Monday at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Ashland. Memorial gifts are suggested to the family.    Shirley A. Smock, 68, of Ashland, died Tuesday afternoon, May 22, 2007, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
   She was born Jan. 21, 1939, in Greene County, the daughter of Eugene and Dee Dee Hazelwood Newingham. She married Richard A. Smock Sr. on Sept. 21, 1957, in Jacksonville, and he preceded her in death March 5, 2000.
   She is survived by three sons, David (wife, Dottie) and Richie Jr. (wife, Janet), both of Ashland, and Dennis (wife, Kathy) of Pleasant Plains; two daughters, Brenda (husband, Charley) Kennedy and Louann Judd, both of Ashland; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Larry, Bobbie, Weston and James Newingham; three sisters, Margie Cook, Patsy Osborne and Mary Dewitt; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Dana Hobbs; five grandchildren; and one sister.
   Mrs. Smock was employed by the Secretary of State in Springfield.

Mollie Sommers, 1911-2007, Ashland
   Mollie Summers, 96, of Ashland, died Saturday, May 19, 2007 at the Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
   She was born April 8, 1911 in Menard County, near Tallula, the daughter of William Louis and Isabelle Belton Chaffin. She married Arza V. Summers on Feb. 19, 1944, in Petersburg, and he preceded in death on Jan. 1, 1981.
   She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Ella Chaffin in infancy, her twin Ollie Chaffin, Loudella Brown and Stella McDaniel.
   Mrs. Summers was a homemaker and a member of the Ashland Church of Christ.
   Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ashland Church of Christ, with burial at Ashland Cemetery. A visitation will be from noon Wednesday until the time of services at the church.
