Alberta Marie Ring, 1920-2007, Rushville
   Alberta Marie Ring, 87, of Rushville, died Tuesday evening, March 6, 2007, at Culbertson Long Term Care Facility in Rushville.
   She was born Feb. 10, 1920, in Cass County, the daughter of Louis and Leta Korte Sweatman. She married William Arthur Ring on July 20, 1941, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bluff Springs, and he survives.
   She is also survived by four sons, Charles (wife, Barbara) of Virginia and Merle, Dale (wife, Vickie) and Wayne (wife, Marilyn) all of Rushville; eight grandchildren, Kevin (wife, Mary), Collin (wife, Courtney) and Alexander Ring, Lisa (husband, Pete) Dupoy, Amy (husband, Jim) Becker, Anne Marie (husband, Rafe) Breedlove, Wendy (husband, Rob) Baker and Suzanne (husband, Rob) Smith; 11 great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; and one brother, Leland (wife, Norma) Sweatman of Virginia. She was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Jan Ring; and one sister.
   Mrs. Ring was a homemaker and a life long member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bluff Springs. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and cooking. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
   Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bluff Springs, with burial at Beardstown City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.    Arthur Ring, 90, of Rushville, passed away at 8:30 PM, Monday, June 8, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
   He was born on June 17, 1918 in Cass County, Illinois, the son of William Frederick and Elsie (Meyer) Ring. He married Alberta Marie Sweatman on July 20, 1941 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bluff Springs and she preceded him in death on March 6, 2007.
   Arthur began his career as a farmer in Cass County and in 1957 he purchased Cass Implement in Beardstown. In 1971, he began Arthur Ring and Son in Rushville and expanded to Lewistown in 1983. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bluff Springs where he served on the church council and building committee. A member of the Beardstown Elks, he enjoyed woodworking.
   Surviving are four sons Charles Ring and wife Barbara of Virginia, Illinois, Merle Ring, Dale Ring and wife Vickie, Wayne Ring and wife Marilyn all of Rushville, eight grandchildren Kevin Ring and wife Mary, Lisa Dupoy and husband Pete, Amy Becker and husband Jim, Anne Marie Breedlove and husband Rafe, Wendy Baker and husband Rob, Collin Ring and wife Courtenay, Suzanne Smith and husband Rob and Alexander Ring, twelve great grandchildren Nathan, Tyler, and Rebecca Ring, Cole Smith, Justin and Tristan Dupoy, Michala Swanger, Cameron Baker, Jesika and Brody Breedlove, Alyssa and Chelsea Ring, and five step great grandchildren, two sisters Louise Wildt and husband James of Erie and Leta Ann Webster and husband James of Virginia, one sister-in-law Doris Ring of Des Moines, Iowa, one brother-in-law Leland Sweatman and wife Norma of Virginia, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law Elizabeth Jan Ring, three brothers Melvin, George and Wilbur Ring and a sister Mary Ring.
   Services will be at 10:30 AM Friday, June 12, 2009 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bluff Springs with Rev. Jill Flynn officiating. Interment will follow in the Beardstown City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville.

Bernice Stocker Ring, 1922-2006, Beardstown
   Bernice Stocker Ring, 84, of Beardstown, died Monday Oct. 16, 2006, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
   She was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Winchester, the daughter of Lee and Meada Tankersley McCarty. She married Ted Stocker on Feb. 17, 1944, and he preceded her in death April 6, 1973. She later married Gary Ring Sr.
   She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Welbourne of Beardstown; one son, Aaron (wife, Donna) Stocker of Beardstown; five grandchildren, Keith and Todd Huston and Josh, Heath and Megan Stocker; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter; one brother, Floyd McCarty; and three sisters, Pauline Beckman, Thelma Denney and Edna Fitzpatrick.
   Mrs. Ring was employed as a telephone operator many years ago. With her husband, she owned and operated Zepher Tavern in Beardstown for many years. She and her husband also raised horses for competition.
   Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Beardstown City Cemetery. Friends may call from 10-10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be sent to [email protected].

RING, Carl F. - Illinoian Star Beardstown Illinois April 21, 1933 - Submitted by Ernie Launer
   Carl F. Ring, farmer of Cass county, for many years, died at the home of his son-in-law R. W. Hendricker who resides on the William Morrow farm near Hagener. At 2:30 o'clock this morning April 21 following an illness of thirteen weeks.
   The deceased was born in Germany on July 18, 1855. He was united in marriage to Miss Marie Loser in Germany on May 28. 1880, later coming to this country where be followed farming. He resided near Monroe for thirty four years.
   He is survived by his wife and the following children:Mrs. Henry Nordsick Mrs. R. J. Meyer, C. J. Meyer, .Mrs R. W. Hendricker, Mrs. Frank Menge of near Beardstown, Mrs. Fred Schnitker of Arenzville, Mrs. Elmer Hendricker Henry, Chris, and Carl Ring of Ashland, Mrs Ralph Launer and W. F. Ring of Virginia and Mrs Helen M. Nelson of Meredosia. Two children passed way in infancy.
    He is also survived by one brother W. F. Ring Sr. Virginia and two sisters residing in Germany.
   The deceased was a member of the St. Peters.church at Arenzville and was always held in high esteem in the community in which he lived.
   Funeral services will be held from the St. Peter's Lutheran' church at Arenzville Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock following a short service from the home at 12:30.

Carl F. Ring December 30, 1920 - May 9, 2010
   Carl F. Ring, 89, of Virginia, IL and formerly of Ashland, IL died Sunday, May 9, 2010 at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
   He was born December 30, 1920 in Bluffs, IL; the son of Carl and Eula Ring. He married Betty Seely and they later divorced.
   He is survived by a daughter, Ann Hammack of Rushville; a son, Billy Ring of Petersburg; two grandchildren, Scott Anthony and Kevin Allen Schisler, both of Rushville; a brother, Harold Ring; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Ginnie Ann Ring; two grandchildren, Lisa Marie Ring and Nikki Ring; a brother, Jess; and a sister, Marge.
   Mr. Ring was employed over 20 years by Caterpillar in Peoria. He served with the US Army during WW II and was a member of the Greenview VFW Post.
   Following cremation, memorial military services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. There will be no visitation. CARL RING RITES HELD SATURDAY Died April 5.1967
Carl William Ring, 81, Ashland, died at 10:30 p.m. last Wednesday at Holy Cross hospital, where he had been a patient for one week.
   He was born in Germany October 8, 1885, the son of Karl and Marie Lozer Ring. He married Lula Jesse Dunham at New Salem December 23. 1913. She preceded him in death Sept. 23, 1945.
   Surviving are four children: Jesse S. Ring, Harold F. Ring and Mrs. Marjorie Lee Wooldridge, all of Ashland and Carl Franklin Ring of Greenview. There are four grandchildren.
   Also surviving are the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Helen Nelson of Tallula; Mrs. Martha Meyer of' Jacksonville; Mrs. Rose Meyer and Mrs. Lydia Menge, of Arenzville; Mrs. Elizabeth Henderson, Beardstown; Mrs. Amanda Launer and William Ring of Virginia; Chris Ring of Terry, Mo., and Henry Ring, Ashland.
   Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Gainer Funeral Home with Rev. James Cook officiating.
   Burial was in Ashland cemetery.
   Pallbearers were: Floyd Nordsiek, Gene Isenhower, Franklin Reed, Alvin Cave, Ray Isenhower and Gerald A. Christisen.

Chris H. Ring, 91 , of Virginia dies
   Virginia--Chris H. Ring, 91 of Virginia died Thursday evening, April 4, 1991, at the Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
   He was born Jan. 25, 1900, in Cass County, the son of the late Carl and Marie Loser Ring. He married Myrtle A. Hoblitt on June 25, 1924, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in rural Arenzville.
   Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Onita Parlier of Virginia and Ida Mai Tegeder of Jacksonville; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Henry, Carl, Bill, Herman and Ernest Ring; and nine sisters, Minnie Schnitker, Mary Nordsick, Helen Nelson, Martha Meyer, Anna Hendricker, Lydia Menge, Rose Meyer, Amanda Launer and Elizabeth Hendricker.
   Mr. Ring was a retired farmer and a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Virginia.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Massie-Buchanan Funeral Home in Virginia with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday. Memorials may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church memorial fund or the Walker Nursing Home activity fund.
   Funeral services for Chris H. Ring were held at 2 p.m. Sunday April 7, 1991, at the Massie-Buchanan Funeral Home in Virginia with the Rev. Thomas Wilson officiating. Organist William Huffman accompanied Gretchen Jokisch as she sang "How Great Thou Art" and "He Grew the Tree". Pallbearers were Don Tegeder, Milt Parlier, Bob Parlier, John Hembrough, Don Meyer and Jim Moore. Burial was at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.

CLARA RING
   Clara Ring, 86, of R.R. 1, Ashland died Monday, Aug. 30, 1982 at the Meline Nursing Home, Jacksonville.
   She was born in Cass County Jan. 12, 1896, the daughter of Henry and Minnie Davis Wildt. She married Henry Ring and he preceded in death in 1971.
   Surviving are one son, Darrell, of R.R. 1, Ashland; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
    Services were Sept. 1 at the Massie Memorial Home, Ashland, with the Rev. James Tinzmann officiating. Pallbearers were Harold Hoagland Sr., Clarence J. Nickel, Wendall Stephenson Jr., James Collins, Tom Lewis Sr. and Harold Farmer. Burial was in the Ashland City Cemetery.

Darrell E. Ring, 81, of Ashland, IL died Monday, November 21, 2011 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville, IL.
   He was born October 8, 1930 in Ashland; the son of Henry and Clara Wildt Ring. He married Betty Lou Clark on March 3, 1949 in Jacksonville and she survives.
   He is also survived by a son, John Ring (wife, Linda) of Ashland; four daughters, Betty Jo Benz (husband, Don) of Ashland and Wanda Dame (husband, Carlyle), Sally Long (husband, Wes), and Bobbi Charpentier (husband, Richard) all of Jacksonville; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Daryl Jean Becker.
   Mr. Ring was a 1948 graduate of Ashland High School and was retired following a long career in farming and trucking.
   Private family graveside services will be held later at Ashland Cemetery in Ashland. There will be no visitation. Elizabeth 'Jan' Ring, 1943-2006, Rushville
   Elizabeth "Jan" Ring, 63, of Rushville, died Wednesday morning, November 8, 2006, at her residence.
   She was born April 5, 1943, in Beardstown, the daughter of Ben and Margaret Bell Carnahan. She married Merle L. Ring on July 19, 1964, at the First United Methodist Church in Beardstown, and he survives.
   She is also survived by two daughters Lisa (husband, Pete) Dupoy of Rushville and Wendy (husband, Rob) Baker of Camden; three grandchildren, Justin and Tristan Dupoy of Rushville and Michala Swanger; and three brothers, Ben (wife, Carol) Carnahan of Oakwood, Bob Carnahan of Effingham and Tom (wife, Doris) Carnahan of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Margaret (surviving husband, Bob Rice of Beardstown).
   Mrs. Ring graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1961, from Lincoln Land Community College with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood, and then she attended Western Illinois University. In 1973, she opened, owned and operated Ring Daycare in Virginia. She later was employed as a "one-on-one" teacher's aide at Gard Elementary School in Beardstown, retiring after 12 years of service. She was doing substitute teaching. She enjoyed making crafts and gardening. Her family was her truest treasure in life and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
   Memorial graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet friends from noon until 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Memorials are suggested to Virginia Daycare or Gard School Elementary School Playground Fund.

   Elsie I. Ring, 100 died Friday afternoon July 25, 1997 at Walder nursing Home in Virginia. She was born April 24, 1897 in Arenzville, the daughter of William and Amelia Muhlert Meier. She married William Ring on November 4, 1914, and he preceded her in death on July 14, 1981. She is survived by four sons, Melvin (wife, Katherine) of rural Virginia, Arthur, (wife, Alberta) of rural Rushville, Rev. George (wife, Doris) of Des Moines, Iowa, Wilbur (wife, Patsy) of rural Jacksonville, two daughters, Mrs James (Louise) Wildt) of Erie, Mrs. Jim (Leta) Webster of Virginia, 23 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, six Great great grandchildren, and several neiedes and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Frances; one grandson; three great-granddaughters; three brothers, Albert, Edwin and Jacob Meier; and three sisters, Milda Renshaw, Jennie Peck and Julia Peck. Mrs. Ring was a founding member of Grace Lutheran Church in Virginia. She also enjoyed Quilting and sewing and making gifts of her handwork to many family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Virginia with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia.    Funeral services for Elsie i. Ring were held at 10:30 Tuesday, July 29, 1997, at Grace Lutheran Church in Virginia with the Rev. Thomas Wilson officiating. The Acolyte was Ryan Lee. The organist was Eileen Fiedler, who accompanied the congregation as they sang "Children of the Heavenly Father" and "I know That My Redeemer Lives". The ushers were Butch Davidsmeier, Bob Miller and Tony Zucksworth. The pallbearers were Mike Ring, Mark Ring, Charles Ring, Merle Ring, Steve Ring, Greg Ring, and Jeff Wildt, all grandsons of Mrs. Ring. Burial was at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. The Massie-Buchanan Funeral Home of Virginia was in charge of arrangements.

The Rev. George C. Ring, 84, of Des Moines, Iowa, died Sunday. June 20, 2004, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
   He was born Apri121, 1920, near Beardstown, the son of William and Elsie Meyer Ring. He married Doris Carls on June 9, 1946, and she survives in Des Moines.
   He is also survived by two sons, Michael (wife, Sue) of Des Moines, Iowa and Mark (wife, Lizz) of Pleasant Hill; four daughters, Rachel (husband, Ken) Schwalbe of. Waconia, Minn.; Rhonda (husband, Joseph) Kraig of Woodbridge, Va., Rebekah (husband, David) Shoeman of Des Moines, Iowa and Deborah (husband, David) Knock of Williamsburg, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Arthur (wife, Alberta) of Rushville and Wilbur of Virginia; two sisters, Louise (husband, Jim) Wildt of Erie and Leta Ann (husband, Jimmy) Webster of Virginia. He was preceded in death by two' granddaughters; one brother Melvin C. (surviving wife Katherine Ring of Virginia) and one sister, Mary Ring.
   The Rev. Ring graduated from Concordia Seminary in Springfield in 1946, and was I ordained as pastor in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. He pastored in Hanford, Calif., Portland Ore., Sioux City, Iowa

Harold Ring, August 8, 1936-Septmeber 14, 2015
   Harold F. Ring, 79, of Ashland, IL died Monday, September 14, 2015, at his residence.
   He was born August 8, 1936 in Ashland, the son of Carl and Lula Jessie Dunham Ring. He married Helen Holmes on August 8, 1960 and she preceded him in death in 1968. He later married Dorothy E. Maddox Cave on January 31, 1970 and she preceded him in death on November 6, 1992.
   He is survived by two children, Angie Ratliff (Ronald) of Ashland and Harold Ring II of Mason City; eight step children, Ronald Cave (Melodee), Larry Cave (Lisa), George Cave (Mindy), and Judy Subu (John), all of Ashland, Helen “Bernie” Robinson of Springfield Rodger Hudgins (Lynn) of Springfield, Alice Willis (Ron) of Ashland, and Kevin Holmes of Lincoln; 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by three step children, Mary “Mickey” Anderson, Harry Dean Cave, and Susie Alexander and three siblings, Marjorie Wooldridge, Jesse Ring, and Carl Frank Ring.
   Harold served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was employed as a truck driver for many firms, most recently driving 37 years with Ashland Farmers Elevator prior to his retirement. He enjoyed camping at Crazy Horse Campground, listening to bluegrass music, and sharing time with his faithful dog, Jake.
   Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Ashland Cemetery with Rev. Ed Moretto officiating. The family will meet friends at the cemetery from 10:30 am Thursday until the time of services. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Ashland Volunteer Fire Department. Henry E. Ring Dies Services Thursday
   Henry E, Ring, 73 of Ashland died at 12:05 P. M. Monday at Norris Hospital in Jacksonville Illinois. He was born at Virginia December 31, 1897, son of Carl and Marie Loser Ring. He married Clara Wildt March 3, 1920. She survives with one son Darrell. There are six grandchildren.
   Also surviving are two brothers, William F. or Virginia and Chris of Paris Missouri; six sisters, Helena Nelson of Tullula; Martha Meyer of Jacksonville; Rosa Meyer and Lydia Menge of Arenzville; Elizabeth Hendricker of Beardstown and Amanda Launer of Virginia. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist church at Ashland with Reverend Audy Burklow officiating. Burial will be in the Ashland Cemetery.
   The family suggests that friends consider memorials to either the Baptist Memorial fund or the American Cancer Society.

Jesse Syldan Ring
    Jesse Syldan Ring, 71 died at his residence in Ashland, IL, on Sunday, January 10. He was born March 7, 1916 in Arenzville, the son of Carl W. and and Lula Jessie Dunham Ring. He never married.
   He was a truck driver for Hanson Dairy in San Jose, IL; and was a veteran of World War II (U. S. Army) and joined Dnd Scv in 1977.
   He is survived by two brothers, Carl Franklin and Harold R. Ring, both of Ashland, and one sister, Mrs. Carl (Marjorie) Wooldridge of Philadelphia, IL. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
   Services were held Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Ashland City Cemetery with Gary Farthing officiating. Massie-Buchanan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

   Katherine R. "Katie"Ring, 87, of rural Virginia, died Sunday evening, May 27, 2007, at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
   She was born April 20, 1920 in Cass County, the daughter of Earl and Ethel Geuder Ross. She married Melvin C. Ring on Nov. 14, 1942 in St. Charles, Mo., and he preceded in death on Feb. 15, 2003.
   She is survived by one sister, Helene Irlam of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Earl (surviving wife, Betty of Redford, Mo.) Ross, Roy Charles (surviving wife, Betty Lou of Springfield) Ross and Kenneth E. Ross in infancy; and two sisters, Margaret Ross in infancy and Thelma Ann Cronk.
   Mrs. Ring was a 1938 graduate of Chandlerville High School and was employed for many years as a teller and bookkeeper for Petefish, Skiles & Co. Bank in Virginia, retiring in 1969. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Virginia.
   Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church in Virginia, with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. Dies Sunday
   Mrs. Lulu Jesse Ring, wife of Carl Ring, died Sunday morning at 3 :50 in Our Saviour's hospital, Jacksonville. She was born at Mayesville, February 18, 1894, daughter of Jesse S. and Minnie Abers Dunham.
   She is survived by her husband to whom she was married in 1913; three sons, Jesse S. and Harold F. Ring of Ashland, and PFC Carl Franklin Ring in the Philippine Islands; one daughter, Marjorie Ring of Ashland; one sister, Mrs. ?Essi. Jester, New Salem.
   Funeral services took place at Ashland Christian church Tueday at 2 o'clock. Rev. Thomas C. Keys in charge. Burial was in Ashland cemetery.

   Mrs. Margaret Ring, wife of William Ring, died at her home in Monroe community at 8:40 o'clock yesterday morning after a long illness which terminated in pneumonia. Mrs. Ring was born February 13, 1856. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Bluner of Springfield, Illinois. She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs Elizabeth Briggs and Mrs. Amelia Briggs and several grandchildren all of Virginia.
   Funeral services will be held at the M. E. Church Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Rev. Wayne Tolson, of Bluff Springs will officiatge. Interment will be made in Monroe cemetery.

Mrs Wm. Ring dies Sunday at her home.
   Margarete Ring, daughter of Mr. ad Mrs. Chris Bloomer passed away at her home Sunday morning at 8:40 after a long illness. Mrs Ring was born in Springfield on February 13, 1856 and later only a few weeks her mother passed away and she then made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Troll the uncle of Mr. Ring. She was married on May 20, 1876 to Wm. Ring and they made their home in the Monroe vicinity ever since. To this union were born one son, who died in infancy and two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Briggs and Mrs. Amelia Briggs, of Virginia. She also leaves to mourn her loss, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of friends. She first became a member of Union church and later moving her membership to Monroe where she has faithfully served the cause. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Monroe church.

   Marie Anna Loser Ring, Wife of Carl Ring, deceased, passed away Tuesday, June 27, at 6:15 a.m. at the age of 71, at the home of R. J. Meyer near Beardstown, where she has been visiting the past two weeks. She was born April 12, 1862 in Johanngeorgenstadt, Germany.
   She married Carl F. Ring sr., May 28. 1880 who preceded her in death April 21. 1938.
   She is survived by Mrs. Henry, Nordsick, Mrs. C. J. Meyer, Mrs. R. J. Meyer. Mrs. R. W. Hendricker, Mrs. Frank Menge, all of hear Beardstown, Mrs. Fred Schnitker of Arenzville, Mrs. Helen M. Melvin C. Ring - 1916-2003 - Virginia
   Melvin C. Ring, 86 years, of rural Virginia, IL died Saturday morning, Feb. 15, 2003, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville, IL.
   He was born April 26, 1916 in Cass County, the son of William F. and Elsie I. Meier Ring. He married Katherine R. Ross on Nov. 14, 1942, in St. Charles, Mo., and she survives.
   He is also survived by two sisters, Leta (husband, Jim) Webster of Virginia and Louise (husband, Jim) Wildt of Erie; three brothers, Arthur (wife, Alberta) of Rushville, Wilbur of Virginia, and Rev. George (wife, Doris) Ring of Des Moines, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Ring.
   Mr. Ring served with the U.S. Navy during WW II. He farmed in Cass County from 1954 until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Virginia, Cass-Morgan Farm Bureau, and the American Legion. He enjoyed sporting events and rooted for the St. Louis Cardinals and the University of Illinois Fighting Illini.
   Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Virginia, with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. Myrtle A. Ring - 1902-2003 - Virginia
   Myrtle A. Ring, 100, of Virginia, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 12, 2003, at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
   She was born Nov. 15, 1902, north of Virginia in Cass County, the daughter of Hiram and Ida Ernst Noblitt. She married Chris H. Ring, June 25, 1924, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in rural Arenzville, and he preceded her in death April 4, 1991.
   She is survived by two daughters, Onita Parlier of Virginia and Ida Mai Tegeder of Jacksonville; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Vernon E. Noblitt; and two sisters, Viola J. Hughes and Della E. Carls.
   Mrs. Ring assisted her husband with their farming operation for many years and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Virginia. She maintained an outgoing, caring personality and a wonderful sense of humor.

Wilbur E. Ring 1933-2006 - Virginia
   Wilbur E. Ring, 72, of Virginia, died Monday morning, May 22, 2006 at the home of his sister in Virginia.
He was born July 24, 1933 in rural Virginia, the son of William F. and Elsie Meier Ring. He married Patsy L. Stidman on March 7, 1954, in Virginia, and she preceded in death on Dec. 19, 2000.
   He is survived by four sons, Steve (wife, Betty) of Springfield, Greg (wife, Susie) of Baylis, Gail (wife, Pat) of Bloomington, and Alan of Virginia; one daughter, Cyndee (husband, Bob) Blakeman of Petersburg; eight grandchildren; two step grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Arthur (wife, Alberta) of Rushville; two sisters, Louise (husband, Jim) Wildt of Erie and Leta (husband, Jim) Webster of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death one sister, Mary Ring; and two brothers, Melvin (surviving wife, Katie of Virginia) and George (surviving wife, Doris of Des Moines, Iowa).
   Mr. Ring was a 1951 graduate of Virginia High School and attended the University of Illinois in Champaign. He served with the US Navy Seabees in the Philippines during the Korean War. He was employed several years with Fiat-Allis and later with Bunn-O-Matic Corporation, both in Springfield, prior to his retirement. He enjoyed assisting his brother, Melvin, with his farming operation. He was a member of the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jacksonville and an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
   Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jacksonville with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. William C. Ring, Cass Farmer, Dies at Monroe Home
   William C. Ring, 82, prominent farmer of Monroe Township, died at his home yesterday morning after an illness of several weeks.
   Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Monroe Methodist Episcopal church. Interment will be in the Monroe cemetery.
   Mr. Ring had been ill a few weeks, but was unable to recover. He was born May 5. 1851 in Germany, and came to this country when 20 years of age. He resided in Monroe neighborhood the greater part of his life. Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs martin Briggs of Monroe and Mrs. Frank Briggs of Virginia, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

William F. Ring of Virginia dies; Services Friday
   Virginia - William Frederick Ring, 88 of Virginia died Tuesday at Beardstown Hospital. He was born in Morgan County March 28, 1893, son of Carl and Anna Ring. He married Elsie Meier in 1914 and she survives. Also surviving are these children; Melvin of Virginia, Arthur of Rushville, the Rev. George of Des Moines, Iowa, Wilbur of Virginia, Louise Wildt of Erie and Leta Ann Webster of Tacoma, Washington. There are 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchilcren. One Brother, Chris of Paris, Missouri, and two sisters, Martha Meyer of Jacksonville and Rosa Meyer of Virginia also survive. He was prededed in death by one daughter, two brothers and nine sisters. Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Virginia. Internment will be in Walnyt Ridge cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church.
