Grace Louise Mibb, 1930-2007, Chandlerville
   Grace Louise Mibb, 77, of Chandlerville, died Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 6, 2007, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.
   She was born March 22, 1930, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Mary Marie Henry. She married Herschel O. "Polly" Mibb on April 17, 1948, in Ashland, and he preceded her in death June 22, 1998.
   She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Richardson and Janice (husband, Bob) Whitehead, both of Chandlerville and Sharon (husband, Donnie) Williams of Carthage, Mo.; two sons, Harold and Samuel, both of Chandlerville; seven grandchildren, Kerry Kolves, Eric and Herschel Mibb, Matthew and Jennifer Richardson, Bobbi Jean Carlock and Holly Smith; and seven great-grandchildren.
   Mrs. Mibb worked in the title division of the Secretary of State, State of Illinois for over 20 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
   Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Olive Cemetery in rural Chandlerville. Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at www.hurleyfh.com.

Franklin E. Michael, 75, of Virginia, died Monday morning, December 10, 2007 at his residence.
   He was born March 22, 1932 in rural Chandlerville, the son of James and Goldie Hall Michael. He married Eva Louise Pierce on July 25, 1969 in Virginia, and she preceded in death on May 29, 1998.
   He is survived by two step sons, Ralph (wife, Diana) Clements of Houston and Larry (wife, Marilyn) Clements of Carrollton; two stepdaughters, Marilyn Jeanne Sharrow of Bluffs and Bonita "Bonnie" (husband, Larry) McSweagin of Dayton, Ohio; 17 step-grandchildren; 15 stepgreat-grandchildren; one sister, Marjorie Cowin of Petersburg; several nieces and nephews; and a companion, Viola Beddingfield of Virginia. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Michael; and one sister, Dorothy Bottens.
   Mr. Michael farmed for 12 years and later worked for Virginia Forest Products for 12 years. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a machine operator for Ideal Industries of Petersburg. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Virginia.
   Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Virginia, with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. Deborah L. Michaels, 1951-2008, Mason City
   Deborah L. Michaels, 56, of Mason City, died Tuesday evening, April 22, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
   She was born Oct. 28, 1951, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Robert and Luvena Curry Lane.
   She is survived by her father; companion, Dale Marlo; two daughters, Heather Michaels of Mason City and Rachel (husband, Michael) Tribbett of Springfield; five grandchildren, Dylian, Dalton, Dalanie Damm and Takoda and Eryk Tribbett; two stepgrandchildren, Destiny and Michael Tribbett; and one sister, Beverly Lane of Springfield. She was preceded in death by her mother.
   Ms. Michaels was a member of the Baptist Church in Chandlerville, a part of Mason County Crimestoppers and manager of Cenex Fuel Station in Mason City for many years.

Irvin Mickens - 1911-2006 Arenzville
   Irvin Mickens, 95, of Arenzville, died Friday morning, Aug. 18, 2006, at Heritage Manor East in Beardstown.
   He was born Aug. 17, 1911, in O'Fallen, Mo., the son of Elizabeth Mozee. He married Mae-Belle Lewis July 28, 1943, in Olympia, Wash., and she preceded him in death Aug. 29, 2003.
   He is survived by two daughters, Sallie Mickens of Bloomington and Madelene (husband, Anthony) Rhone of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Salina (husband, Evon) Shaw of Richmond, Va., Christina and Shanita Mickens, both of Bloomington, and Kashima, Jamale, Vernale and Michael (companion, Trista) Rhone, all of Springfield; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Aulgusta; five brothers, Fred, Henry, John and Mark Mozee and Clifford Mickens; and three sisters, Rosie Mozee, Emma and Erse.
   Mr. Mickens worked for R.D. Lawrence in Springfield retiring in 1977. He was a member of Jacksonville Laborer's Union 916 and he loved farming and gardening.
   Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cody & Son Memorial Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Jacksonville East Cemetery. John Perry Middaugh - 1938-2003 - Beardstown
   John Perry Middaugh, 64, of Beardstown, died Sunday morning, Aug. 24, 2003, at his residence.
   He was born Dec. 13, 1938, in Beardstown, the son of William and Irene Noonan Middaugh.
   He is survived by four brothers, Richard and Charles of Beardstown, Leonard of Joliet and Raymond of Sherman; one sister, Mary Birdsell of Algonquin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother in infancy; two brothers, Albert and Fred; and one sister Lois Worley.
   Mr. Middaugh loved to ride his bicycle around Beardstown and spend time with his good friend, Scott Surratt.
   Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Beardstown City Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.

   Henry Lee Miers, 76, of Virginia, IL died Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Heritage Health in Jacksonville, IL.
   He was born March 5, 1937 in Cass County, IL, the son of John R. and Verna M. Clement Miers. He married Alice Jean Coy on September 10, 1960 in Virginia, IL and she preceded him in death on March 27, 1981.
   He is survived by two daughters, Debbie Tillery (husband, Don) of Franklin and Pam Husman (husband, Mark) of Winona, MN; four grandchildren, Colin Tillery, Kacey Tillery, Travis Husman and Anna Husman; two sisters, Mary Fox (husband, Merle) of Jacksonville and Janie McGinnis (husband, Ralph) of Beardstown; several nieces and nephews; and an aunt, Frances Beavers of Jacksonville.
   He was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard E. Miers and George R. “Rusty” Miers, and two half brothers, Ray D. Miers and John LeRoy Miers.
   Mr. Miers was a graduate of Virginia High School and served with the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed as a salesman for Mills Auto Parts of Jacksonville for many years. He later retired from the Jacksonville Developmental Center in 1997. During his retirement, Henry enjoyed helping out part-time and visiting with friends at Dave Sinclair Auto Parts in Virginia. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.
   Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Virginia with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia.    Alice E. Miller, 80, of Beardstown died Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Heritage Manor in Mt. Sterling. She was born June 26, 1930 in Havana, the daughter of George L. and Harriet Cooper Watkins. She married Floyd E. Miller on April 29, 1949 in Petersburg and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1985. Surviving are two sons David E. (wife Sharon) Miller of Arenzville and Donald E. (wife Barbara) Miller of Mt. Sterling; four grandchildren Cheryl Lynn Nelson, Sondra Kay (husband Adam) Vahle, John Edward (wife Sarah) Miller, and James Donald Miller; three great grandchildren Rachel Lynn Nelson, Luke Edward Miller, and Aaron Enoch Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, and one sister. Mrs. Miller was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Beardstown. David Miller 63, of Sumava Resorts, IN and formerly of Virginia, IL, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 in a work accident. He is survived by his wife, Pamela, children; Brent (Lori) Long of Elkhart, Lisa Brinker of Virginia, IL, Kory (Carol) Long of Bellville, IL, grandchildren;, Alex, Haley, Jordan, Taylor, Kayla, David, Zach and Andrew, siblings; Vernon (Jolene), Charles and Gladys Rust both of Virginia, IL, Freda Miller of Springfield, IL, and Marilyn Miller of Alsey, IL. He was preceded in death by parents Glen and Dorothy Miller and infant sister Neva. David was raised on a farm in Virginia, IL and graduated in 1968 from VHS then studied surveying at University of Illinois while working for the state of Illinois. David was drafted into the Army in 1969 and served in the Vietnam War as a Door Gunner on helicopters. He married Pam on June 27, 1987. On July 15, 1991 he was hired on as a driver with ABF Freight Systems in Sauk Village where he received awards for over 2 million miles of safe driving. He also attended Lake Village Presbyterian Church. Visitation, Wednesday, January 1st from 4-8 at Sheets Funeral Home, 604 E.    BEARDSTOWN - Edwin Christy Miller Sr., 74, of 1017 Wall St. died Sunday, Oct. 5, 1997, at his home.
   Born Dec. 7, 1922, in Rushville to Clarence Christy and Edna Louise Crews Miller, he married Velma Schall on Sept. 11, 1946, in Beardstown. She survives.
   Also surviving are two sons, Edwin Jr. of Browning and Greg of Sullivan, Ind.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. One granddaughter also preceded him in death.
   He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving as a medic on the island of Antigua in the Caribbean.
   He was a farmer near Astoria and also worked for Moormon Feed. He also was a carpenter with his father.
   He was counselor with Cass County Mental Health Department, Brokaw Hospital in Bloomington and retired in 1987 from St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
   He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ.
   Graveside burial of cremains will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mud Valley Cemetery near Astoria. The Rev. Betty Hornback will officiate. Arrangements are by Sager Funeral Home.

   General W.W. Miller of Olympia, Washington Territory, died Jan. 24th at the age of 54. He was born Jan. 12, 1822 , in Greensburg, KY. He moved with his parents to Morgan Co., IL and in 1844 to Cass County, IL. He moved to Washington Territory in 1849. He leaves a wife and two sons in Washington Territory, a brother, E.P. Miller and sisters Mrs. J.A. Arenz and Mrs. S. Emmons of this county.

   SULLIVAN, Ind. - Gregory Alan Miller, 51, of Sullivan, formerly of rural Browning, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Sullivan.
   He was born Sept. 22, 1950, in Beardstown, the son of Edwin C. and Velma Schall Miller. He married Candy Ludwick in 1985 in Clay County, Ind.
   Mr. Miller graduated from Astoria High School in 1968 and worked at Black Beauty Coal Mine in Farmersburg, Ind. He also was the owner and operator of Miller Welding in Sullivan and a member of Astoria Church of the Brethren.
   Survivors: wife, Candy; two sons, William (wife, Lorili) Miller of Pekin and Jon (wife, Misty) Miller of Browning; a daughter, Carla Nero of Kansas; five grandchildren; mother, Velma Miller of Springfield; a brother, Edwin Jr. (wife, Linda) Miller of Browning; and several nieces and nephews.
   Cremation rites will be accorded.
   Graveside services: 1 p.m. Thursday, Mud Valley Cemetery, south of Astoria.

   Josephine Jolene Miller, 72, of Virginia, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
   She was born April 15, 1942, in Oakdale, NE, the daughter of Oscar and Agnes Kalloff Holcomb. She married Vernon Miller in June of 1987 in Virginia, and he survives.
   She is also survived by two sons, Lance Schroeder of Arkansas and Darin Schroeder of Virginia; two step-daughters, Tammy Miller of Arkansas and Tracey Wisdom of Virginia; three step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Kenneth Holcomb.
   Jolene was an LPN and worked for many years at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield. After her retirement, she worked at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.

Lloyd Miller, 1915-2007, Beardstown
   Lloyd Edwin Miller, 91, of Beardstown, died Friday morning, Oct. 19, 2007, at Heritage Manor South in Beardstown.
   He was born Dec. 31, 1915, in Vermont, Ill., the son of Linneaus and Ethel Cox Miller. He married LeIsle Lambert on May 1, 1939 in Cahokia, Mo., and she survives.
   He is also survived by two sons, David, (wife, Carol) and Dan (wife, Beth), both of Beardstown; four grandchildren Sara and Sean Miller both of St. Peters, Mo., Adam Miller of Beardstown and Brooke (husband, Shane) Beller of Springfield; two great-granddaughters; one brother, Lloyal of Bartonville; and one sister, Doris Crouse of Macomb.
   Mr. Miller graduated from Vermont High School in the class of 1933. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II in the western hemisphere. He was a member of the First Christian Church and Guthrie-Pierce VFW Post 1239 and formerly a member of Beardstown Rotary and Beardstown Boat Club. He was a lifelong Masters NRA member. He previously was employed at Krogers in Beardstown for 23 years, then owned and operated Beardstown Superway, and from 1970 until 1987 worked for Oscar Mayer in Beardstown. He enjoyed hunting, tinkering at his farm and collecting and repairing antique tools.
   Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in Beardstown, with burial at Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Memorials are suggested to Beardstown Christian Academy. Aged Resident Dies At Daughter's Home
   Funeral services for Mrs. Lucretia Greenwood Miller, who died Tuesday evening, were held Thursday afternoon at Assembly of God church, with Rev. Harold George, pastor officiating. Burial was in Walnut Ridge cemetery.
   Hymns were sung by Mrs. Louisa Montgomery, accompanied by Miss Iva Lancaster. Pallbearers were William and Carl Collins, James, Clarence and Eddie Boyd, and Louis Loving of Hull.
   Mrs. Miller, widow of J. W. Miller, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Boyd. Had she lived, she would have celebrated her eighty-third birthday on April 15. She had been bedfast for the last nine weeks.
   Decedent was born in Newsmanville, the daughter of Decatur and Eliza Duckwiler Greenwood. She was one of a family of sixteen.
   Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Robert Loving, Hull; Mrs. Gertrude Boyd and Mrs. Bessie Collins, Virginia; a son, Frank Buxton, Emporia, Kansas: two brothers, Frank Greenwood, Philadelphia, and Joe Greenwood, Decatur; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Carroll, Harvey, and Mrs. Rosetta, Capper, Chandlerville; one step-daughter, Mrs. Albert Stambaugh of Virginia; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

   Mary Elizabeth Miller, 78, of Beardstown, died Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born February 6, 1933 in Beardstown, the daughter of Russell and Doris Creamer Moeller. She married Glenn Miller on November 11, 1951 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown. Surviving is her husband Glenn Miller of Beardstown; her mother Doris Moeller; one son Bill (wife Phyllis) Miller of Beardstown; three daughters Melinda (husband Guy) Orrill of Frederick, Phyllis (husband Mike) Dour and Amy Catherine Rhoades both of Beardstown; 12 grandchildren Brett (wife Michelle), Chad, and Jeff Miller, Jared LaMaster (companion Melanie Crabtree), Rosemary (husband Jake) Swan, Russell Orrill, Christopher (wife Jessica) Dour, Stephanie (husband George) Brown, Jeremy Taylor (companion Katie Shaffer), and Aubree, Dustin, and Jacob Rhoades; eight great grandchildren Miley Miller, Alexis LaMaster, Brynna Swan, Jackson and Maryn Dour, Georgia and Kellen Brown, and Elli Taylor; two sisters Beverly (husband Bud) Carlock of Bluff Springs and Sally Summey of Theodore, AL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and her brother Bill Moeller (surviving wife Jean of Quincy). Mary graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1951. She was a faithful and active member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and WELCA in Beardstown where she formerly served as Sunday School teacher, children�s choir director, and Luther League sponsor. Mary was currently a member of various civic organizations including Beardstown Emblem Club #474, Cass County Home Extension, and Meals-on-Wheels, and was formerly a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Beardstown Jayshees, BHS Tiger Athletic Club and Band Boosters, and formerly served as a 4-H Leader. Mary, her husband Glenn, and her entire family owned and operated Miller Concessions for over 50 years serving cozy dogs and lemonade shakeups at a variety of area events. Mary�s unconditional love for her family was obviously apparent to everyone as she cared for her children and grandchildren whenever called upon and hosted a weekly Friday lunch in her home for whoever could stop by. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown. Patsy L. Miller, 60, of Virginia, IL died Wednesday evening, October 21, 2009 surrounded by her family at her home following a brief battle with kidney cancer.
   She was born July 12, 1949 in Beardstown, IL; the daughter of Alvin O. and Dolores Marie Lovekamp Reichert. She married Mike E. Miller on July 14, 1968 in Virginia, IL and he survives. She is also survived by her mother of Virginia; two daughters, Nancy Scott (husband, Kevin) of Virginia and Jody Kershaw (husband, Tony) of Murrayville; three grandchildren, Sage Kershaw, Cy Kershaw, and Brigadere Scott; three sisters, Judy Dillard (husband, Chuck) of Jacksonville, Vicki Robson (husband, David) of Woodson, and Sheila Knisley of Jacksonville; a brother, James Reichert (wife, Susie) of Virginia; and Several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
   Mrs. Miller was a 1967 graduate of Virginia High School and had served as the office manager and bookkeeper for the Cass County Health Department since 1983. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading, gardening, raising pumpkins, and spending time with her three grandchildren.
   Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held 6:00 PM Monday, October 26, 2009 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Virginia. The family will meet friends at the church from 4:30 PM Monday until the time of services.    Larry A. Million, 69, of Ashland, IL died Sunday, September 14, 2014 at his residence.
   He was born July 3, 1945 in Morgan County, the son of Harold and Helen Rockstad Million. He married Sharlie McGee on May 20, 1966 in Roodhouse and she survives.
   He is also survived by a son, Rick Million (wife, Regina) of Virginia; a daughter, Lisa Ratliff of Ashland; four grandchildren, Joseph Hayden, Marissa Johnson, Shaunn Ratliff, and Erica Million; four great grandchildren, Charlee, Hanna, Bentley, & Jaxstin; three brothers, Ernie Million (wife, Alvina) of White Hall, Lawrence Million of Roodhouse, and Andy Million (wife, Sandy) of Jacksonville; three sisters, Barbara Wallbaum of Murrayville, Betty Cardwell (husband, Sonny) of Roodhouse, and Joyce Coplea (husband, Bob) of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Charles, Roger and Duwayne Million.
   Mr. Million was a farm hand for the John Cosner Farms for 11 years prior to joining Philadelphia Farmers Elevator for several years. He was retired after several years with Excel in Beardstown. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.

   She was born October 4, 1934 in Havana, IL, the daughter of John Porter and Opal Frances Ash Richardson. She married Richard S. Dick Millner on June 6, 1952 in Louisvile, KY and he preceded her in death on December 8, 2004.
   She is survived by a daughter, Debra DeGroot (fianc, Bill Collis) of Osco; five grandchildren, Tony Millner (wife, Leigh) of Virginia, Andrea Millner of Virginia, Darci McLaughlin (husband, Doug) of New Windsor, Stormi Moriarity (husband, Tom) of Cambridge, and Holli DeGroot (companion, Kevin Dancses) of Venice, FL; two step grandchildren, Michelle VanOpdorp and Matt VanOpdorp, both of Geneseo; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sharon VanOpdorp; a grandson, Joel Massey; and a sister, Dora Lea Petty.
   Sue was a 1952 graduate of Virginia High School and retired in 1995 from the Illinois State Police following a 36 year career. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ashland and had been attending the Virginia United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and with her husband, travelling and camping in their trailer.
   Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, May 30, 2015, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Virginia with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. The family will meet friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am Saturday until the time of services.    Richard Milner was born in 1818, in Preston, England, son of Mr. and Mrs.Thomas Milner. He died 28 April 1899, and is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Beardstown. He moved to Canada in 1842, then to Morgan County, Illinois, for fifteen months before settling in Beardstown, Cass County, in 1849. He married Hannah Woods in England, and they were parents of Mrs. Rebecca Wroe, Mrs.Nancy Roehl, Mrs. Rose Baujan, Mrs. Margaret Dixon, Mary and Thomas. His working years included wagon making, blacksmithing, employee of the C.B. & Q. Railroad and as a bridge tender. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Vivian D. Millner, 90, of Virginia, IL died Saturday, April 23, 2016, at the Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
   She was born February 28, 1926 in Virginia, the daughter of Floyd and Mary Warner Armstrong. She married Dale M. Millner on January 15, 1950 and he preceded her in death on June 5, 1989.
   She is survived by three daughters, Janet Evers (husband, Carl) of Virginia, Marcia Williams (husband, Ken) of Chatham, and Arlene Smith (husband, Randy) of Virginia; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Evers (wife, Sarah) of Heyworth, Christina Evers of Urbana, Jeffrey Evers (wife, Laura) of Springfield, Matthew Williams (wife, Kristin) of Sherman, Jacob Williams (wife, Jessi) of Chatham, Casey Smith (wife, Charlene) of Sumter, SC, and Bonnie Smith of Bloomington; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Millner of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Kenneth Gene Armstrong (surviving wife, Shirley of Virginia) and G. Irene Stephen.
    Vivian was a 1943 graduate of Virginia High School and attended Hardin-Brown Business College in Jacksonville. She was employed several years in the Cass County Treasurers Office before becoming a full-time farm wife and mother. She was a member of the Virginia Church of Christ where she formerly served as a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Mt. Pleasant Home Extension Unit for over 50 years. She enjoyed sewing and creating crafts which she loved to share with her grandchildren. She valued time spent with her entire family.
    Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, April 29, 2016, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Virginia with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia.    Wilma L. Miner, 76, of Virginia, and formerly of Galesburg, passed thru Heaven's Gate Tuesday, Dec. 21, at her daughter's residence in Virginia.
   She was born May 8, 1934, in new Cambria, Mo., the daughter of Ora and Hattie Prather Howard. Her family moved to Illinois when she was a small child. She married Leo Nolan Miner on June 14, 1952 in Macomb and he preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1992.
   She is survived by three daughters, Bonnie (husband, Charles) Crawford of Bloomington, Rebecca (husband, Garrett) Miller of Bentonville, Va., and Tamara (husband, Tom) Osmer of Virginia, 12 grandchildren, Chris (Jill) Crawford, Mandi (Kevin) Smith, Corey (Jaime) Miner, Brent Miner, Tyler (codie) Miller, Garrett Nolan (Angie) Miller, Bryce (Jessica) Miller, Elise (Brandon) Hendricker, Breanna and Luke Osmer, and Jacob and Jarod Robeson; 15 great-grandchildren, Joslyn, Olivia, Joanna, Mark, Anna, Reese, Chloe, Layla, Nicholas, Ryan, Layla, Nolan, Hannah, Emily and Aubrey; two brothers, Kenny (Marie) Howard of Avon and James (Judith) Howard of Elmwood; three sisters, Rita Nicholas of Knoxville, Lettie Sloan of Avon and Patsy Fox of Sacramento, Calif.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Mark Nolan; three brothers, Ronnie (surviving wife, Kathy), Lloyd and Elmer (surviving wife, Marjorie) Howard; and four sisters, Lottie, Frances, Retha and Elizabeth.
   Mrs. Miner worked at Maytag for 30 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of Colonial Baptist Church in Galesburg and was currently attending First Presbyterian Church in Virginia where she was active in the Service Guild. She loved spending time with her family and friends and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She was anxiously awaiting the birth of her 12th great-granddaughter who will be arriving on December 28, 2010.
   Graveside services were held 11 a.m. Friday Dec. 24, at Avon Cemetery. There was no formal visitation. Memorials are suggested to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.

   Debra K. Minor, 46, of Virginia died Thursday evening, January 10, 2002 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. She was born on November 4, 1955 in White Hall the daughter of David F. and Myrtle Mercer Horney. She married Jerry Minor on January 28, 1976 in White Hall and he survives in Virginia.
   She is also survived by two daughters, Rebecca (fiance, Brian Harris) Minor and Rachel Minor, both of Virginia; one son, J.T. Minor, Jr. of Virginia; one step-son, James T. Minor of Glasgow, Kentucky; her parents, David F. and Myrtle Horney of Jacksonville; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three sisters, Carol (husband, Steve) McNealy of Jacksonville, Becky Jones of San Jose, California, and Janet (husband, Warren) Smith of Jacksonville; three brothers, David F. "Fred" (wife, Susie) Horney, III of Hollywood, Florida, Dan Horney of Springfield, and Mike (wife, Lisa) Horney of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
   This upcoming May would have marked 24 years of employment for Mrs. Minor at Pactiv in Jacksonville. She also worked part-time at Hucks in Jacksonville, and had earlier been a waitress at Sambo's in Jacksonville. She was a member of the Virginia Jaycees and enjoyed the sun, water, and boating. She attended Harvest Temple United Pentecostal Church in Jacksonville.
   Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2002 at the Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville with burial at Virginia Cemetery in Virginia. Friends may call after 12 Noon on Saturday at the funeral home where the family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to her grandchildren's education fund.

Alberta "Bertie" Webster Mitchell, 85, of Beardstown died Sunday, August 12, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia. She was born October 31, 1926 in Beardstown, the daughter of Harold and Cora H. Fiedler Webster. She married Eldon "Mitch" Mitchell on December 16, 1950 in Joliet and he preceded her in death March 7, 1997. Surviving are three sons Rickey Dee (wife Tammy) Mitchell of Centralia, Michael L. Mitchell of Texas, and Terry Zane (wife Marilyn) Mitchell of Rohnert Park, CA; and six grandchildren Brian, Amanda, Michael, Tyler, Nickolas, and Zane. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister Helen Florey, and two brothers Floyd and Russell Webster. Bertie graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1944 and prior to her marriage was employed as parts manager for Beardstown Farm Supply. She spent most of her life in Beardstown except for a few months when she lived in Germany while her husband was in the military and upon their return to Beardstown Bertie and Mitch owned and operated Main Street Tap for over 30 years. She was a member of the Beardstown Lion's Club and also previously served on the Board of Directors. Bertie was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed playing Euchre.
