   A. O'Neil Meyer, 78 of Beardstown, died Friday, July 6th, 2012 in his home. He was born December 22, 1933 in Hammond, IN the son of Wilbur and Margaret "Nell" O'Neil Meyer. He married Eleanor Ready in 1957 in Arlington, VA. Surviving is his wife Eleanor "Ellie" Meyer of Beardstown; his children Dr. Gregory Meyer of Phoenix, AZ, Shelly (deceased husband Todd) Harmeyer of Beardstown, and Lisa (husband Robb) Swanson of Marengo; six grandchildren Sarah and Matthew Lesiecki, Christopher Yost, Amelia Harmeyer, and O'Neil and Savannah Swanson; and one brother Terrill "TJ" (wife Penny) Meyer of Springfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Stephanie Lesiecki, and one brother Milton Meyer. O'Neil graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1951 and later from Culver Stockton College in 1955. After a semester of graduate school at the University of Missouri in Columbia, he accepted a position with the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C. At that time, the Space Age was in its infancy, and the government conducted many experiments with rockets and rocket fuels. Mr. Meyer worked for Grand Central Rocket Company in Redlands, California and later for Aerojet General in Azusa, California. He returned to his hometown of Beardstown in 1964. In Beardstown, Mr. Meyer developed a large base of customers who appreciated his skill at refinishing furniture. He was a perfectionist who was known for his meticulous attention to detail. He was a member of Beardstown Elks BPO Lodge #1007, Ducks Unlimited and Beardstown Lions Club where he was well known for managing the Lions Food Trailer and keeping track of the Lions history albums. He loved gardening and also educating his children and grandchildren about gardening. A memorial mass will be held at 11 AM Saturday, July 14, 2012 at St. Alexius Catholic Church in Beardstown. Dinner will be served at the Beardstown Elks Club immediately following. All who wish to attend are welcome. Memorials have been suggested to Houston Memorial Library, Beardstown Lion's Club, Cass/Schuyler Area Hospice, or St. Alexius Catholic Church. Allison Meyer, 1985 - 2000 ARENZVILLE
   Allison Meyer, 15, of rural Arenzville, died Thursday morning, July 27, 2000, at her residence.
   She was born Feb. 12, 1985, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Bernard "Bernie" and Helen Bryant Meyer.
   She is survived by her father and stepmother, Joy Kathryn "Kate" of rural Arenzville; three brothers, Neal, Chris and Cory, all of rural Arenzville; her paternal grandmother, Eileen Meyer of Arenzville; her step-grandparents, John and Olive Jurgens of Jacksonville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother; her paternal grandfather, Lawrence Meyer, and her maternal grandparents, Allie and Elizabeth Bryant.
   Miss Meyer, a high honor roll student, graduated from Trinity Lutheran School in Arenzville and was a member of the Class of 2003 at Triopia High School. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville and the Indian Creek 4-H Club in Cass County, where she participated in the baking and livestock competition. Prior to her illness, she loved to participate in sports, especially volleyball and basketball. In addition. she loved shopping, baking and using her computer to e-mail friends.
   Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville, with burial at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Arenzville. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Saturday at the Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home in Jacksonville where the family will meet friends from 5-8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Triopia School Foundation for the Allison Meyer Memorial Scholarship Fund or to the Trinty Lutheran Church

   BEARDSTOWN - Bertha Meyer, 83, of rural Beardstown, died Saturday morning, May 9, 1992, at the home of her daughter, Roseanne Ommen in Chapin.
   She was born June 3, 1908, in Cass County, the daughter of Perry Elmer and Julia Ann Powers Buck. She married Oliver Meyer on June 5, 1927, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church near Arenzville. He died April 1, 1983.
   She is survived by three sons, Wilbur Meyer of rural Beardstown, Robert Meyer of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., and Richard Ruppel of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Roseanne) Ommen of Chapin, Mrs. Dr. Richard (Kathleen) Hoffmann and. Mrs. Michael (Marilyn) Paul. both of Peoria; two brothers, Ralph Buck of Portland, Ore. and George Buck of Beardstown; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was: preceded in death by one son, Marshall; one sister, Beatrice Buck Ruppel; and one brother, John Buck.
   Mrs. Meyer attended Arenzville schools. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church near Arenzville, where she belonged to the Ladies Aid and Ruth Circle. She was a member of the Cass County Home Extension and the Beardstown Garden Club.
   Mrs. Meyer had a great love for flowers and she shared them frequently with others. Her family, was her first love and she and her husband farmed as a team for many years in Cass County.
   Following Mr. Meyer's death, Mrs. Meyer spent several years as a volunteer at St. Luke's Longterm Health Care Facility in Beardstown.
   Funeral services will be 11 a.m, Wednesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church near Arenzville with burial at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown with family meeting friends 6-9 p.m. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church, Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

Charles F. Meyer Of Arenzville Dies Here Wednesday December 1, 1955
   Charles F. Meyer, an 82-year-old lifetime resident of the Arenzville-Concord community, died suddenly early Wednesday evening in Passavant Hospital.
   Meyer was born at Hegener Station near Arenzville July 21, 1873, the son of Chris and Elizabeth Weiss Meyer. He was united in marriage with Minnie Sanders, who preceded him in death in 1934.
   A farmer and cattle feeder throughout his active life, Meyer had resided with his daughter, Mrs. Barbara Abernathy of Concord, for the past 12 years.
   Known for his judgment, Meyer was often called upon to buy cattle for farmers in the Arenzville vicinity.
   He was president of the First National Bank of Arenzville and a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in that city.
   He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Sleboda of St. Louis, Mrs. Abernathy of Concord, Mrs. Katherine Ormiston of Springfield, Mrs. Mignon Cornick of Normal, and Mrs Dorothy Monypenny of Glencoe, Ill., one son, Joe Meyer of Greenfield: two brothers � of a family of eight. Elmer Meyer of Beardstown and Paul Meyer of Monmouth; and 12 grandchildren.
   The body was brought to the Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Funeral arrangements remain incomplete.

Arenzville Resident Dies Suddenly
   C. J. Meyer, 50, well known resident of the Arenzville community, died suddenly of a heart attack, Tuesday at his home four miles north of that city. Mr. Meyer had returned the day before from a Jacksonville hospital where he underwent an operation for appendicitis a few weeks ago.
   Mr. Meyer's death was a shock to his family and friends who had believed him to be'" on the road to recovery,
   He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rose Meyer; five sons, Kenneth, Lawrenee, Chris, Milton and Donald his mother, Mrs. Amelia Meyer; two brothers, Albert and Edwin; four sisters Mrs. Lyman Peck and Mrs. E. T. Peck all residing in the Arenzville community; Mrs. Ben Redshaw, Pleasant Plains and Mrs. Wm. Ring of the Oak Dale neighborhood,
   Funeral services will be held at St. Peters Lutheran church at Arenzville this (Friday) afternoon at two o'clock in charge of Rev. K. B. Neumann. Burial will be in' St. Peters cemetery,

   Dorothy J. Meyer, 94, formerly of Beardstown died Sunday, July 24, 2011, at Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois in Barrington. She was born January 8, 1917 in Beardstown the daughter of Harold and Nell Eads Meyer. She married Kenneth C. Meyer on August 14, 1937 in Chicago and he preceded her in death in 1984. Surviving are her children Jill Meyer Heimbuch of Arlington Heights, Gay Meyer (husband Chip) Long of Newport Beach, CA, and Jack (wife Janet) Meyer of Cary, IL; four grandchildren Mark Heimbuch, Jeffrey Meyer, Sarah Phillips, and Dawn Meyer Keeney; and four great-grandchildren Hayden Phillips, Ty and Ella Heimbuch, and Jack Meyer. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, and two sisters. Dorothy graduated from Beardstown High School in 1934 and was formerly a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown. After their marriage, she and her husband resided in the Chicago suburbs. Following the death of her husband she moved to Sun City, AZ and two years ago returned to the Chicago area in order to live near two of her children. Dorothy enjoyed playing bridge, attending to her rose garden, and reading. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Beardstown City Cemetery. Memorials have been suggested to First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown. Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.

Helen Marie Meyer of Arenzville dies
Helen Marie Meyer, 32, of rural Arenzville, died early Friday morning, Nov. 24, at Passavant Hospital after a long illness.
   She was born Dec. 20, 1956, in Jacksonville, daughter of Allie and Elizabeth Haney Bryant. She married Bernie Meyer on June 26, 1982, in Arenzville. He survives, along with her father and stepmother, Ellen Bryant; four children, all at home, Neal Bryant, 6, Allison Eileen, 4, Christian Lawrence, 2, and Cory William, 1; and a sister, Mrs. Lee (Mildred) Roberts of Versailles.
   She was preceded in death by her mother and a sister.
   Mrs. Meyer was a 1975 graduate of Franklin High School. She graduated from Western Illinois University, where she was inducted into Alpha Zeta National Agricultural Honor Fraternity. She later received a master's degree from the University of Illinois. Active in 4-H work, Mrs. Meyer served as sheep assistant superintendent at the Morgan County Fair for several years and was assistant sheep superintendent in the sheep department at the Illinois State Fair for several years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville. Mrs. Meyer was known throughout the Midwest as a sheep breeder and promoter.
   Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville with burial in Arenzville Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call after noon on Saturday at the Cody and Son Memorial Home, where the family will meet friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Memorials are directed to Trinity Lutheran Church School or the Cancer Fund.

   Funeral services for Helen M. Meyer were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville with the Rev. Donald Hinkle and the Rev. Bernard Raabe officiating. The organist was Judy Roegge. Gerald Roegge sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Joy Come in .the Morning." The congregation sang "In Thee Lord, Have I Put My Trust" and "Lord, It Belongs Not To My Care." Active pallbearers were Ricky Bryant, Jerry DeOrnellas, Bob Gillis, Roger Hendricker, Steve Meyer and Bill Million. Honbrary pallbearers were Bruce Bryant, Gary Bryant, Mickey Clayton, Paul Hannold, Mark Hendrickson and Doug Russell. Ushers were Edward Dufelmeier and Dean Kleinschmidt. Burial was in Arenzville Lutheran Cemetery. Cody and Son Memorial Home was in charge of funeral services.

June Ula Meyer, 85, of Jacksonville, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at Prairie Village Health Care Center in Jacksonville.
   She was born June 17, 1916, in Arenzville, the daughter of Luther and Ruth Kennedy Brasell. She married Kenneth W. Meyer April 4, 1941, at St Peter's Lutheran Church near Arenzville, and he preceded her in death Feb. 17, 1994.
   She is survived by three grandchildren; one sister, Lois (husband, John) Clark of rural Arenzville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lois Elaine Lyons (surviving husband, Peter of Falls Church, Va.); one son, Kenneth Luther Meyer; and one brother, Robert Brasell.
    Mrs. Meyer was raised in the Arenzville area. She attended Carthage College in Carthage for two years and later taught at Buch School and Lovekamp School in Arenzville. She spent most of her adult life in Arizona and New Mexico. She earned her real estate license while in Arizona. In Los Alamos, New Mexico, she was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Women's Group and Altar Guild.
   Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church near Arenzville with burial at St. Peter's Cemetery. The family will meet friends following the service at the church. The Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Foundation or St Peter's Lutheran Church.

   Kenneth William Meyer, of Los Alamos, N.M., formerly of rural Beardstown, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 1994, in Santa Fe, N.M.
&nbs;  He was born March 3,1917, in Beardstown, the son of Jacob and Rosa Ring Meyer. He was married to June Brasell for 52 years. She survives.
   Mr. Meyer was the owner of Kenneth William Meyer Construction Company which served the Jacksonville area. The company moved from Jacksonville to Tucson, Ariz., and later in 1974 to Los Alamos, N.M. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
   A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Arenzville with burial at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. The family will meet friends after the service. Memorials are suggested to St.Peter's Lutheran Church or the St. Luke's Pediatric Unit. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

   Lawrence E. Meyer, 79, of Arenzville, died Friday morning, Dec. 10, 1999, at his residence.
   He was born Jan. 24, 1920, in Beardstown, the son of Jacob and Rose Ring Meyer. He married Eileen Louise Witte on June 18, 1944, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville, and she survives.
   He is also survived by one son, Bernard (wife, Kate) of Arenzville; two daughters, Sharon (husband, Merle) Dufelmeier of rural Jacksonville and Betty (husband, John) Six of rural Chapin; 13 grandchildren; three brothers, Pastor Chris of Davenport, Iowa, Milton of Cissna Park and Don of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth.
   Mr. Meyer farmed his entire life and was a member of the Cass-Morgan Farm Bureau. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville and was an avid supporter of his grandchildren's activities.
   Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville with burial at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Arenzville. Marie Elizabeth Burlage Meyer, 81, of Cissna Park, died early Friday morning, Feb. 3, 2006, at her residence.
   She was born Feb. 28,1924, near Arenzville, the daughter of Henry and Anna Louise Elnora Fricke Burlage. She married Milton Meyer on Feb. 24, 1946, in Arenzville, and he survives.
   She is also survived by three sons, Ronald of Milford, Roger (wife, Rita) of Clarence and Robert of Santa Fe, N.M.; three daughters, Carolyn (husband, Harvey) Mink of Alpharetta, Ga., Sheryl (husband, John) of Glen Ellyn and Pamela (husband, Dean) of Sacramento, Calif.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louise (husband, Melvin) Van Buren of Wheat Ridge, Colo. She was preceded in death by four brothers.
   Mrs. Meyer was an employee of the State of Illinois. After moving to Rankin, she became a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and was Sunday school superintendent. While living in Vermillion County, she was a 4-H leader and served on the 4-H county board. She was also a member of the Vermillion Home Extension Association. After moving to Cissna Park, she became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she served as treasurer for the women's missionary league. She en-joyed reading, sewing, crafts, crocheting, bowling and visiting friends and family.
    Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Thinty Lutheran Church in Cissna Park, with burial at Cissna Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Knapp Funeral Home in Cissna Park and one hour prior to services at the church Tuesday. Memorials are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cissna Park, Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth or Carle Hospice.

Marshall Meyer dies Sunday 3/13/77
   BEARDSTOWN - Marshall Duane Meyer, 39, Livermore, California, died Sunday evening at the home of his parents near Arenzville. He was a metallurgical engineer.
   Mr. Meyer was born June 23, 1937, at Beardstown, son of Oliver and Bertha Buck Meyer; they survive. He married Janette Kay Aerni at Glendale, California, December 26, 1968, and she survives.
   Also surviving are a step-son, Craig Richards; three brothers: Wilbur Lee, Beardstown; Robert H., Jacksonville Beach, Florida; and Richard Ruppell, Scottsdale, Arizona; and three sisters: Mrs. Robert (Rose Ann) Ommen, Beardstown and Mrs. Richard (Cathleen) Hoffman and Mrs. Michael (Marilyn) Paul, both of Peoria.
   Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Lutheran church near Arenzville, Reverend Robert Wegehoft officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery.
   Visitation will be at Northcutt Funeral home in Beardstown after 2 p.m. today; the family will meet friends 7 to 9 tonight.

Martha Meyer, 97, dies here Monday
   Mrs. Martha A. Meyer, 97, 803 S. West St., died early Monday morning, Nov. 12, 1984 at the Modern Care Convalescent Nursing Facility.
   She was born Nov. 16, 1886, in Germany, a daughter of Karl and Marie Loser Ring. She married Rudolph J. Meyer Nov. 16, 1907, in Arenzville, and he died April 3, 1942.
   She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Marvin (Bernice) Launer, Modesto, and Mrs. John (Alberta) Thompson, Jacksonville; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother: Chris Ring, Paris, Mo.
   She was preceded in death by one son, Rev. Opal M. Meyer, eight sisters, and five brothers.
   She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Jacksonville, and the Ladies Aid of St. Peter's Church, Arenzville.
   Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church, with burial in St. Peter's Cemetery, northwest of Arenzville. Visitation will be after noon Wednesday with the family to meet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Cody and Son Memorial Home.
   Memorials are suggested to Faith Lutheran Church.

   Services for Martha Ann Meyer were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at FaithLutheran Church with Rev. Ernst L. Rex officiating. Mrs. Gary Braner was the organist and the congregation sang. Ushers were Maurice Driver and Chuck Heacox. Pallbearers were Rev. Michael Thompson, David Thompson, Robert Taylor, William Launer, James Launer and Richard Shipp. Interment was in St. Peters Cemetery northwest of Arenzville. Cody and Son Memorial Home was in charge of arrangements.

   VIRGINIA - Mary E. Meyer, 92, of rural Virginia, died Saturday morning, July 26, 1997, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
   She was born Dec. 9, 1904, in the Monroe community near Arenzville, the daughter of Alex and Myrtie Davis Huffman. She married Harry Niestradt on June 13, 1926, and he preceded her in death in 1935. She later married Rudolph Meyer on Jan. 9, 1937, and he preceded her in death in 1956.
   She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Conley (Elizabeth) Thomas of rural Virginia; one sister, Mrs. Edwin (Nadine) Lounsberry of Jacksonville; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Gerald Niestradt; one sister, Lena Ruth Huffman; three nephews and one niece.
   Mrs. Meyer graduated from Virginia High School and attended Gem City Business College. She later taught in the Springer School District #47 in the Monroe community. She taught piano for 37 years, traveling between homes and later teaching in her own home northeast of Virginia. In addition to her teaching, she was involved as a 4-H leader, a member of the Cass County Home Extension, Cass-Morgan Farm Bureau and the National Federation of Music. Long active in church activities, she directed the choir and taught Sunday School at Grace Lutheran Church in Virginia where she was a charter member. She later joined the Virginia United Methodist Church.
   Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Virginia United Methodist Church where the family will meet friends following services. Memorials are suggested to the Virginia United Methodist Church Music Fund or Passavant Area Hospital Lifeline Fund. The Massie-Buchanan Funeral Home of Virginia is in charge of the arrangements.

   Mary L. Meyer, 81, of Springfield, IL and formerly of Ashland, IL died Wednesday evening, December 7, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
   She was born November 15, 1930 in Jacksonville, IL; the daughter of Charles Frederick and Mary Lucille Ryan Wallbaum. She married Lloyd W. Meyer on June 27, 1953 in Alexander, IL and he preceded her in death on September 26, 2000.
   She is survived by two sons, Charles A. Meyer (wife, Marcia) of Indianapolis, IN and Dale E. Meyer (wife, Elaine) of Ashland; Six daughters, Elizabeth Evans (husband, Tom) of Tulsa, OK, Dorothy Greer (husband, Rick) of Divernon, Martha Hannel (husband, Robert) of Pleasant Plains, Kathleen George (husband, Michael) of Springfield, Sharon Hindt (husband, Terry) of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Teresa Williams (husband, Fred) of Dublin, GA; 16 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Wallbaum of Franklin and Frederick Wallbaum (wife, Phyllis) of Franklin; two sisters, Catherine Ryan of Jacksonville and Helen Bergschneider (husband, Tom) of Franklin; a sister-in-law, Nellie Meyer Rector of Springfield; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter; and a nephew.
   Mrs. Meyer was the salutatorian of the Class of 1948 at Routt High School in Jacksonville and attended Joliet College. She was employed 4 years at the Illinois Department of Revenue, 17 years with Franklin Life Insurance Company, and 7 years with Brandt Chemical prior to her retirement. She was a former member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and more recently a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Springfield. She was a member of the Red Hat Club, the Craft Club at Christ the King Parish, and the Altar & Rosary Society at St. Augustine Parish.
   A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 10, 2011 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Ashland with burial at St. Augustine Cemetery in Ashland. The family will meet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at the church in Ashland where prayer services will be conducted at 4:45 PM Friday. Memorial gifts are suggested to the St. Augustine Altar & Rosary Society or Memorial Medical Center Foundation to benefit the 4G Nursing Unit. Oliver George Meyer, 82, dies; services held yesterday April 1, 1983
   Oliver George Meyer age 82 of rural Beardstown, died Friday at 1:50 p.m. in the Beardstown Hospital.
   He was born February 4, 1901 in the rural Beardstown area, the son of Henry W. and Lisetta Sielschott Meyer and married Bertha Buck, June 5, 1927 in the St. Peters Lutheran Church near Arenzville. She survives.
   Other survivors are, three sons, Wilbur Lee Meyer of rural Beardstown, Robert Henry Meyer of Jacksonville Beach, Fla. and Richard A. Ruppel of Scottsdale Ariz., three daughters Mrs. Robert (Roseanne) Ommen of Jacksonville, Ill. Mrs. Richard (Kathleen) Hoffmann of Peoria, Ill. and Mrs. Micheal (Marilyn) Paul of Peoria, Ill. Also surviving are 12 grand-children and one great grandchild.
   Meyer was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one son Marshall D. Meyer March 13, 1977.
   He was baptized in the St. Peters Lutheran Church Feb. 24, 1901 and confirmed March 28, 1915, and served on the Arenzville School Board, Arenzville Elevator Board and the Cass Co. Services Company Board. He was a retired farmer.
   Funeral services for Oliver Meyer were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in the St. Peters Lutheran Church near Arenzville with Pastor Ernie Rex, of the Faith Lutheran Church in Jacksonville, officiating.
   Waldron Paul, soloist, sang Amazing Grace, accompanied by Karen Winkleman, organist.
   Pallbearers were Charles Hendricker, Robert Brasell, George H. Musch, Bill Talkemeyer, Melvin Dufelmeier and Dean Nordsiek.
   Burial was in the St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery near Arenzville.

MEYER, Pauline M. - 1911-2005 Jacksonville
   Pauline M. Meyer. 94, of Jacksonville, died Thursday morning, June 2,2005, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born April 15, 1911, in Meredosia, the daughter of Harvey and Helene Ring Meyer.
    She was the last of her immediate family and is survived by several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, Eugene Nelson.
   A native of Meredosia, Ms. Meyer graduated from Tallula High School, Eureka College, where she was a classmate of the late President Ronald Reagan, and the Teachers College of Columbia University in New York City. She began teaching at age 18 in rural schools in Menard County prior to com-pleting college. She later taught at Wapella, Buffalo and Tallula high schools before working as a teacher with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Hartford, Conn.
   She returned to teach at Tallula, later serving as princi-pal and later as Menard County Superintendent of Schools. She later joined the Illinois State Board of Education, then known as the Office of Public lnstruction. She retired and moved to Jacksonville in 1972.
   A devoted community volunteer, she continued her dedication to education by serving for many years on the Jacksonville School District 117 Board of Education including 15 years as the board's president. During her tenure, the school district improved its financial stability, added kindergarten classes and counseling, expanded course offerings and constructed the new high school. She was also member of Illinois Education Association, Illinois Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, and Delta Kappa Gamma Society.
   Ms. Meyer was also active in the Jacksonville Pilot Club where she was a past Midwest district governor. She was also a member of the American Association of University Women and Menard County Beta Sigma Phi. She volunteered for Prairieland United Way, Morgan County Council On Aging, Senior Bus Program and Norris and Passavant Hospitals.
   She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in rural Arenzville where she formerly served as church secretary, Sunday school teacher, church council member and past president of the Conference of Women of the ELCA In recent years she attended Faith Lutheran Church in Jacksonville.
   Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in rural Arenzville, with burial at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, adjacent to the church. Friends may call at the church from 1 p.m. until time of services. Memorials are suggested to the Jacksonville Public Schools Foundation or St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Rosa Meyer of Arenzville dies Monday August 31, 1981
   Rosa M. Meyer, 91, Arenzville, died Monday morning at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
   Mrs. Meyer was born in Germany May 5, 1890, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ring. She married Jacob Meyer in 1916, and he died in 1937.
   Survivors include five sons: Kenneth W., Los Alamos, New Mexico; Lawrence, Arenzville; Dr. Chris, Davenport, Iowa; Milton, Cissna Park; and Donald Jacksonville; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Chris Ring, Paris, Missouri; and a sister, Martha Meyer, Jacksonville.
   Mrs. Meyer was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church north of Arenzville. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid and the Missionary Society.
   Services will be at St. Peter's Lutheran Church 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Reverend Walter Chellberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
   Friends may call at Williamson Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Wednesday; the family will meet friends at the funeral home 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
   Memorials are suggested to the church.
Services for Rosa Meyer were held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Arenzville, with the Rev. Walter Shellberg officiating. Waldron Paul was the soloist, accompanied by organist Judy Roegge. The ushers were Raymond Dufelmeier and John Clark. The pallbearers were Bernard, Robert, Michael, Steven, Gary, Ronald, Roger and Rob Meyer, Merle Dufelmeier and John Six. Burial was in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Cass Farmer Passes Away Rudolph Meyer Funeral on Monday
   Rudolph Meyer, prominent Cass county farmer and a resident between this city and Arenzville died last night about 9 o'clock in Passavant Hospital at Jacksonville.
   The body was brought to the Cline Funeral home here to be prepared for burial
   Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the late home, and at 3 o'clock at St. Peter's Lutheran Church near Arenzville. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery.
   The Rev. Gilbert Saathoff will be in charge of the services.
   Born in Cass
   Rudolph John Meyer was born on April 1,1884 in Cass county, the son of Henry W. Meyer and Minnie nee Yost. He was baptized in early infancy in the Lutheran church and on April 10, 1898 was confirmed in St. Peter's Lutheran church.
   On November 16, 1907, he was united matrimony to Martha Ring, and to this union three children were born, a son and two daughters. His wife and children survive. The children are Opal, pastor of the Peace Lutheran church at Chester, Mrs. Marviu Launer of this City and Alberta at home. Also surviving are two grandchildren William and James Launer, his step-mother, Mrs. Lisetta Meyer and a brother Oliver.
   Always a Farmer
   Mr. Meyer was always a farmer and held several offices in the Arenzville community in connection with the Farm Bureau and the school district. In his church he served several years as Sunday school superintendent and also a member of the church council and church secretary.
   He submitted to an operation last September in Passavant hospital, recovered and was taken back to the hospital a week ago.

Funeral Rites Held Here Sun. For R. J. Meyer
Largely attended funeral services for Rudolph John Meyer, 64, lifelong resident of Cass County, were held at Grace Lutheran church, in this city, Sunday, Nov. 25th, at 1:30 p. m. The Rev. Richard Horst pastor of the church officiating.
   William Huffman, presided at the organ during the service.
   Pallbearers were Lloyd Smith, William Dodds, James Colston, and Glen Salzman of Virginia, William Ragan of Concord and William Harshman of Rockport.
    Arranging the flowers were Mrs. Lloyd Smith, Mrs. William Dodds, Mrs. James Colston, Mrs. Glen Salzman, Mrs. William Ragan, Mrs. William Harshman, Miss Donna Rae Harshman and Miss Betty Thron.
   Burial was made in Walnut Ridge cemetery. The Lintner funeral home of Chandlerville was in charge of the service.
   Mr. Meyer passed away at his home near this city at 12:40 A. M. Friday. He had been in ill health for several years.
   He was born near Arenzville, May 24, 1892, a son of the late Henry C. and Caroline Bauyan Meyer. He was confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran church near Arenzville at an early age and was a charter member of Grace Lutheran church in this city. He was a veteran of world war I.
   On Jan. 9, 1937, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Mary Huffman Niestradt, who survives.
   Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs Elizabeth Thomas of this city; a brother, William Meyer of Arenzville; three sisters, Mrs. Nina Schnake of Beardstown, Mrs. Irene Bowers and Miss Clara Meyer of Arenzville and three nephews.
