David W. Lawler 1916-2002 HENDERSONVILLE, N.C.
   David Woodrow Lawler, 85, of Hendersonville, N.C., and formerly of Davenport, Iowa, and Rushville, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, in Hendersonville.
   He was born Dec. 29, 1916, in Bainbridge Township, rural Rushville, the son of Robert E. and Grace Lucille Hood Lawler. He married Wilhelmia Nordsiek Dec. 6, 1941, at St Peter's Lutheran Church in Arenzville, and she preceded him in death Oct. 12, 1990.
   He is survived by one sister, Helen Maurine Lawler Hyde of Sheboygan, Wis.; and one brother, Richard D. Lawler of Mendota. He was preceded in death by five sister (one in infancy); and two brothers.
   Mr. Lawler attended rural Center 85 Grade School in Schuyler County, and he graduated from Rushville High School in 1934. He spent his entire working career with one company, the MA Ford Co. of Davenport, Iowa.
   A memorial service for the cremated remains will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St, Peter's Lutheran Church in Arenzville. Memorials are suggested to the St, Peter's Lutheran Cemetery Endowment Fund. Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown is in charge of local arrangements.

Wilhelmina Lawler, Cass native, dies
   Wilhelmina M. Lawler, 75, of East Flat Rock, N. C., a native of Cass County, died Friday evening, October 12, 1990 at Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville N. C.
   She was born January 20, 1915, near Beardstown, the daughter of Henry and Mary Ring Nordsiek. She married David W. Lawler on December 6, 1941
   She is survived by her husband, three brothers, Floyd Nordsiek of Pleasant Plains, Dr. Paul K. Nordsiek of Jacksonville FL. and Harold Nordsiek of Beardstown; two sisters, Bernita Winkelman of Plano, Illinois and Katherine Dotzert of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother.
   Mrs. Lawler was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hendersonville, N. C., where she was active in the women's organizations. She started her career in Jacksonville as secretary for Dr. F. A. Norris and Dr. Reginald Norris. Later, in Davenport, Iowa, she was employed at the arsenal and then for 18 years as secretary for Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Co.
    Memorial services were held in Hendersonville, N. C., and are scheduled at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, October 21, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church near Arenzville with Burial at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, Hendersonville, N. C.; St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery Fund, Arenzville; or the American Cancer Society.

Ralph C. Lawson, Sr. - 1916-2003 - Arenzville
    Ralph C. Lawson, 87, of Arenzville, died Friday morning, Aug. 29, 2003, at his residence.
   He was born Feb. 2, 1916, in Beardstown Township, the son of Samuel and Nellie M. Darrow Lawson. He married Barbara Mae Daniels on Nov. 15, 1941, in St. Louis, and she survives.
   He is also survived by one son, Ralph C. Jr. of Beardstown; one daughter, Ann (husband, Charles) Koch of Arenzville; three grandchildren, Becky (husband, Bob) Saylor of Beardstown, Scott Koch (companion, Tammy Lacy) of Jacksonville and Angie Koch (companion, Brock Rohn) of Beardstown; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ellen Gabbert of Warrenton, Mo. He was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters; and one granddaughter, Tina Lynn Lawson.
   Mr. Lawson attended rural Cass County schools. During World War II, he and his wife were employed at the Savanna Ammunitions Plant in Savanna. He was also formerly employed with CB & Q Railroad in Beardstown and with the Arenzville-Hagener Elevator. He was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church in Beardstown. He enjoyed camping with his family and was a member of Cloud 9 Ranch in Caulfield, Mo.
   Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown, with burial at Arenzville North Cemetery. Family will meet with friends from noon until the time of funeral services Sunday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at [email protected].
