Natalie Kae Krohe, Chandlerville
   Natalie Kae Krohe, 7, of rural Chandlerville, died early Thursday morning, Nov. 2, 2006, at her residence.
   She was born Sept. 15, 1999, in Springfield, the daughter of David Lee and Heather Dae Rich Krohe.
   She is survived by her mother of Chandlerville; her father of Beardstown; one sister, Halie; grandparents Debbie and Randy Lane of Chandlerville and Dick and Frances Krohe of Beardstown; great-grandparents, Evelyn and Junior Rich of Bath and John Ogden of Chandlerville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Barb Ogden; and an aunt.
   Natalie was in Mrs. Murphy's first grade class in Havana where she served as an inspiration to her teachers and fellow students. She loved all of the kids in her school and they all loved her.
   Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethel Baptist Church near Chandlerville, with burial at Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Norma L. Krohe, 66, former Beardstown resident, dies October 13,1980
   BEARDSTOWN - Mrs. Norma L Krohe, 66, a former Beardstown resident, died Monday morning at the Lutheran Home in Monroe, Michigan. She had moved from Beardstown in September of 1977. She was a member of the Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Monroe.
   Mrs. Krohe was born in 1914 in Beardstown, the daughter of Henry and Lucinda Roegge Huppe. She married Robert A. Krohe in 1950, and he survives.
   Two daughters, Lois Krohe of Huron, Michigan, and Mrs. Gary (Karen) Reinhardt of Monroe, and two granddaughters survive.
   Also surviving are two brothers, Arthur and William Ruppe of Arenzville, and three sisters, Mrs. Herma (Alma) Bette of Morehead, Minn., Mrs. Edward (Minnie) Carls of Arenzville and Mrs. Fred (Edna) Lotter of Palos Heights.
   Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beardstown. The body will be at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Beardstown.
   Memorials are suggested to the St. John's radio broadcast.

Norman G. Krohe, 81, Dies
   Norman G. Krohe, 81, of 1010 W. Coronado, Jacksonville, Illinois, formerly of Beardstown, died Monday evening, Dec.28, 1992, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
   Mr. Krohe was born near Beardstown on Jan. 11, 1911, the eldest son of Robert H. and Lydia Kuhlman Krohe. He married Dorthy L. Wilson on Dec. 22, 1946, in Beardstown, and she survives.
   Also surviving are five children; Mrs Dale (Norma Jean) Wilkinson of Springfield, Edward (Jennie) Krohe of Beardstown, Merl (Thelma) Krohe of Havana, Marvin Krohe of Jacksonville, and Dennis (Joyce) Krohe of Beardstown; nine grandchildren; two great granddaughters; and a brother, Floyd Krohe of Arenzville. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Robert.
   Mr. Krohe was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and was an employee of Bluff Springs Elevator, retiring in 1976.
   Private funeral services were held at Cody and Son Memorial Home, with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery. memorials are suggested to the Oncology Unit at Memorial Hospital or Salem Lutheran Church.

Oliver Krohe, 1922-2007, Beardstown
   Oliver Andrew Krohe, 84, of Beardstown, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 2, 2007, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
   He was born March 4, 1922, in Cass County, the son of Felix and Ida M. Hendricker Krohe. He married Jewel E. "Bettie" Hamblin on Aug. 12, 1943, in Corvallis, Ore., and she survives.
   He is also survived by nine children, David (wife, Lona) of Vermont, Janet (husband, Sam) Spears, Carol (husband, Charles) Wubker, Allen (wife, Jackie), Ann (husband, Tom) Bell, Audrey Perry and Ken (wife, Kelley), all of Beardstown, Myles (wife, Deb) of Virginia and Dottie (husband, Paul) Puckel of Springfield; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-granchildren; one brother, Elmer (wfie, Onea) of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Pam Krohe; three brothers, Arthur, Philip and Paul; and three sisters, Henrietta Carls, Marie Root and Dorothy Williams.
   Mr. Krohe was a lifelong Cass County farmer and also a bus driver for both the Beardstown School District and Cass County Human Resources. He also worked as a welder for Trinity Steel in Beardstown. He graduated from Beardstown High School with the Class of 1939. He was a veteran of World War II having served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Army where he received two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.
   Mr. Krohe was a member of the Beardstown Church of the Nazarene and for over 75 years was a member of the Bethel Church of the Nazarene. His greatest joys were his church and spending time with his family.
   Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Beardstown Church of the Nazarene, with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Beardstown, where military services will be conducted. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the church. Friends may also call one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Pam Krohe Nursing Scholarship Fund or the Eddie Garnier Apartments Activity Fund. Condolences may be left at www.hendrickerfh.com.    Otto A. Krohe, 72, who has been a semi-invalid since suffering a stroke two years ago, died suddenly at 7 o'clock this morning, at the home of his niece, Miss Marie Ackerman, 501 West Seventh street.
   The body was taken to the Simson Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
   Mr. Krohe who was in good spirits yesterday, seemed to be feeling fine and his death came as s shock this morning.
   Mr. Krohe and his wife returned to Beardstown last April, to make their home with Miss Ackerman, after residing in Aurora for the past 43 years.
   Otto A. Krohe, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Krohe, was born in Bluff Springs, September 19, 1876. He was married to Lydia Baumer of Beardstown on February 21, 1901 and the couple resided in this city for a few years, before moving to Aurora to make theit home.
   He was employed as switchboard maintenance man by the Illinois Bell Telephone company at Aurora and was retired in 1942 after completing 25 years service.
   He is survived by his wife and three brothers, Arthur and Herman of this city and Julius of Peoria.
   His parents, and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Krohe Rabel, who died in February, 1948, preceded in death. He was also preceded in death by a son, Virgil, who died at the age of 9 years, and a daughter, who died in infancy.

Pamela Jo Krohe
   MOUNT STERLING - Pamela Jo Krohe, 24, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and formerly of Beardstown, died Sunday night, Oct. 17, 1993, at her home.
   She was born Dec. 26, 1968, in Beardstown, the daughter of David Oliver and Lona Jo Umphryes Krohe.
   She is survived by her parents of Belleville; three sisters, Mrs. Roger (Diana) Hiebert of Overland Park, Kansas, Mrs. Daniel (Debra) Buffey of Tuscon, Ariz., and Tina Krohe of Belleville; paternal grandparents, Oliver and Bettie Krohe of Beardstown; one nephew; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Orval and Imogene Umphryes.
   Miss Krohe was a registered nurse and was working at the Mercy Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She graduated from Beardstown High School and from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Okla., where she received her bachelor's degree in nursing. She was a member of the Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Bethany, Okla., and was a former member of the Bethel Church of the Nazarene near Beardstown.
   She served as president of the Student Nursing Association and was active in the International Student Association while in college. In high school, she served as president of the Thespian Troop and was member of the Madrigal singing group. She also was a member of her church choir and was interested in missionary work.
   Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Belleville First Church of the Nazarene with burial at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Belleville. Visitation will be from 6-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Bethel Church of the Nazarene near Beardstown and 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Belleville First Church of the Nazarene. A memorial service will be held Wednesday morning at the Mercy Medical Center in Oklahoma City and Thursday morning at the Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Bethany, Okla. A memorial fund has been established. Hendricker Funeral Home in Mount Sterling is in charge of arrangements.

   Paul Felix Krohe, 66 of Beardstown, died Friday, July 27, 2012 at Heritage Health in Beardstown. He was born March 1, 1946 in Lincoln, the son of Paul Felix and Corine Edna Burton Krohe. Surviving is his companion of twenty-five years Kathleen Draves; his son John (wife Jennifer) Willis of Paradise, UT; several grandchildren; two aunts Aline Hendricker and Bettie Krohe both of Beardstown; three uncles Paul Burton of Reynoldsburg; OH, Enfor Burton of Las Vegas, NV, and Rev. Bob Williams of Yukon, OK; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Mary Jean Dyson (surviving husband Jamie). Paul attended Brick School in Beardstown and later graduated from Western High School in Las Vegas, NV in 1964. He worked at McDonald's as a janitor and was a member of Bethel Church of the Nazarene. Paul enjoyed visiting with his friends and was known as a man with a caring heart who liked to help people who needed assistance. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 10-10:45 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Paul Krohe, sr., 53, of Near Bluff Springs
Dies of Injuries Received in 12-ft.Fall
   Paul Felix Krohe sr. 53, of south of Bluff Springs died at 5 o'clock Friday afternoon at Schmitt Memorial hospital. Death was due to a fractured skull received in a 12-foot fall shortly before noon yesterday at the Beardstown Implement company where Mr. Krohe was doing some wiring in the attic of the firm.
   Mr. Krohe was born January 15, 1903 near Beardstown. He was engaged in farming near here as well as being an electrician.
   Surviving are his wife, the former Corene Burton: a son, Paul jr. at home; his mother, Mrs. Felix Krohe. rural route 2, Arenzville; four brothers, Arthur and Philip both of near Beardstown: Oliver of Beardstown and Elmer of Springfield: and three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Williams of Carnegie, Oklahoma: Mrs. Marie Root of Rushville and Mrs. Henrietta Carls, Arenzville.
   An inquest will be held tonight, at 7:30 p.m. at the city hall.
   The body was taken to the Cline Funeral home where friends may I call Sunday afternoon from 2:30 to 4:30 o'clock and from 7:30 to 9:00 o'clock Sunday evening.
   Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the Church of the Nazarene in this city. The Rev. Cecil Carroll, Pastor of the Bethel Nazarene church will officiate at the services.

Philip Krohe of Beardstown Dies Funeral Thursday Jacksonville Journal July 30, 1974
   Beardstown - Philip Krohe of Beardstown route 1 died Monday at memorial Medical Center at Springfield. He was 60 years of age.
   Mr Krohe was born in Cass County September 13, 1913, son of late Felix and Ida Hendricker Krohe. He married Dollie Jockisch August 2. 1936. She survives with these children: Marvin and Evelyn, Beardstown: Henry (Bud), Columbus Miss.: Ruby Hess, Rushville: Joyce Dittmer, Sesser and Judy Hendrickson, Springfield. There are 12 grandchildren.
   These brothers and sisters survive: Arthur, Oliver, both of Beardstown: Elmer of Springfield: Marie Root, Rushville: Henrietta Carls, rural Arenzville: and Dorothy Williams, Carnegie, Okla.
   A brother, Paul and infant sister, Edna preceded in death.
   Mr. Krohe was a member of the Nazarene church in Beardstown, where services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday. Rev. Lawrence Wright and Rev. Bob Williams, the latter from Oklahoma, will officiate. Interment will be in Jockisch cemetery south of Bluff Springs. The remains will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Thursday.
   Friends may call at the Cline Funeral Home 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Robert Krohe, Retired Farmer, Dies Friday November 14, 1969
   Beardstown Robert H. Krohe, 85, a Sangamon Valley farmer, died at 10:45 Friday night in a Jacksonville hospital.
   He was born January 8, 1884, near Beardstown, the son of Edward and Bertha Witte Krohe. He married Lydia Kuhlmann February 10, 1910. She preceded him in death February 7, 1969.
   His parents, two sisters, and a brother preceded him in death.
   Surviving are: four sons, Norman, Henry and Robert A. of Beardstown; and Floyd of Arenzville. Thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
   Mr. Krohe was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran Church, where the funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Edward Lang will officiate.
   The body will lie in state in the church from 1 p.m. Sunday until time of services. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
   Friends wishing to do so may consider a memorial in the form of a contribution to their favorite charity.

Robert Krohe, 69, a Cass native, dies
   Robert A. Krohe, 69, of Monroe, Mich., a native of Beardstown, died 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 1986.
   He was born May 26, 1916, in Beardstown, son of Robert H. and Lydia Kuhlmann Krohe. He married Norma Huppe April 9, 1950. She preceded him in death Oct. 13, 1980.
   He is survived by two daughters; Lois Krohe and Karen Rinehart, both of Michigan; three grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Krohe of Jacksonville and Floyd Krohe of Arenzville; and several nieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by a brother, Henry.
   He was a member of the Holy Ghost Lutheran Church of Monroe, Mich., and a veteran of WWII.
   Services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beardstown. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery at Beardstown. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Cline Funeral Home in Beardstown. Memorials suggested to the donor's choice.

October 15, 1944 Memorial Service Sunday for Sgt. Robert Irl Krohe
   A memorial service for Sergeant Robert Ir1 Krohe, who was killed in action August 7, 1944, will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran church.
   The Rev. E. F. Sommer, pastor of the local church, will conduct the service.
   Sergeant Krohe was born November 20, 1920 at Chandlerville, the son of Mr, and Mrs. Ir1 Krohe who now live in Cuba, Ill.
   He graduated from the Chanderville high school where he was active in all types of athletics. He moved to Beardstown in 1941 and entered service from here in the spring of 1942.
   Survivors include his parents and two brothers, Tom, who is in the Navy, and Francis, at home; and his grandmother, Mrs. A. H. Krohe, 203 East Seventh street. He was a nephew of A. A. Krohe, formerly of this city, but now of San Diego, California.
    The program for the Memorial service Sunday afternoon follows: Organ Prelude. Hymn by congregation. Girls' Chorus: "Beloved, It Is well! God's Ways Are Always Right. Sermon: Pastor Edwin Sommer.    Services for Roland L. Krohe, 34, who died Thursday afternoon in a tractor accident near his home at R. R. 1 Arenzville, will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran church in Arenzville. The Rev. Rene James will officiate with burial in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
   The family will meet friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home.
   Mr. Krohe was born July 5, 1946 in Beardstown, a son of Floyd and Betty Turley Krohe.
   He married Sandra Renz April 6, 1968 in Jacksonville.
   In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter, Rebecca Kristine, and a son, William Chris, both at home. Also surviving are his parents, who live in Arenzville, and three brothers, Gale and Richard Krohe, both of Virginia, and Wayne Krohe of Manchester.
   He was employed by Oscar Mayer Co. in Beardstown and farmed partime. He was a Vietnam War veteran. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, chairman of the church school's board of education, President of the Aid Association of Lutherans and a member of the Fellowship League.
   Memorial gifts may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Christian Education Fund.
Services
   Services for Roland L. Krohe were Monday morning at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville, Reverend Rene James officiating. Mrs. Judy Roegge was organist.
   The congregation sang "Jesus, Jesus, Only Jesus," "Jesus And It Shall Ever Be" and "Behold A Host Arrayed In White."
   Ushers were Harold Witte and Willard Peck. Pallbearers were Keith Zemple, Reverend Louis Knief, Ross Houston, Richard Lovekarnp, Gary Schone and Ronald Engelbrecht.
   Burial was in Camp Butler Cernetery at Springfield.
   Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

KROHE, Sophia - Beardstown Illinoian, Beardstown, Illinois, March 23, 1888, reprinted in The Cass County Historian, June 1992
   Died March 21, of rheumatism of the heart, Mrs. Sophia Krohe, age 73. She was born in Hanover, Germany in 1816. Her parents died in Cass County. She came with her husband to this country in 1834, they lived three years in Cincinnati, Ohio, coming here in 1837. Her husband, Fred, died eight years ago. They were parents of six children, four survive, Mrs. Mary Boeme and Mrs. Rose Schneider, of Omaha, Nebraska, Henry Krohe and Fred Krohe, Jr. of here. (Her maiden name may have been Haveluft.)

Mrs. Glen Krohe, 56, Dies at Hospital Here
   Mrs. Glen (Teddy) Krohe, 56, of 101 Clay St., died at 7 a. m. today at Schmitt Memorial Hospital here shortly after being admitted.
   She was born September 23, 1906 in Beardstown, daughter of William and Maude Lashbrook Wells.
   Surviving are her husband, Glen; a son Dick; one grandchild; her mother, Maude Wells of Beardstown; four brothers Bob Wells of Beardstown, Gerald Wells of Texas, Cleon Wells of Beardstown and Ira Wells of Meredosia; one sister, Mrs. Peggy Lyons of Virginia.
   One son, a brother and her father preceded her in death.
   She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid.
   The Northcutt Funeral Home is in charge of services.

Theodore Douglas Krohe
    Theodore Douglas Krohe, 72, Bentonville, Arkansas died Thursday February 14, 1991 at St. Mary's Mogers Memorial Hospital in Bentonville.
    He was born March 24, 1918 at Beardstown, the son of Arthur A. and Bernice Shinefield Krohe. He married Anna Cadylak.
    He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Carol Kennedy, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and of Carlene Durham of Rayville, Louisiana; Four sons, Terry, of Kwethluk, Alaska, Rich of Alliance, Nebraska, Randy of Davenport, Iowa, Tim of Maryland; one sister, Darlene Edwards, Springfield and 15 grandchildren.
    He moved from Beardstown to Bentonville in 1977. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Viet Nam retiring after 21 years of service. He was a business administrator of Illinois School of the Deaf in Jacksonville. He also was employed in the funeral industry as a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church at Bentonville.
    Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 18 at Faith Lutheran Church in Bentonville with the Rev. Donald Wesener officiating. Burial will be at 10:30 a. m. Tuesday, February 19 at Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma.

PASSED FROM EARTH THEODORE W. KROHE - HE WAS WELL AND FAVORABLE KNOWN IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS AND MADE HIS HOME IN CASS COUNTY DURING HIS ENTIRE LIFE AND MUCH OF Which was Spent in Beardstown Where he was Engaged in Business for a Number of Years.
   Theodore W. Krohe is dead. He passed away at the family residence at number 1020 South Jefferson street, at 6:40 a.m. Monday, January 27th.
   Deceased was born in Cass county and resided in this county his entire life. He was raised on a farm near Grigg Chapel on Sangamon valley.
   In his youth he attended school at the Cottonwood about eight miles east of Beardstown. While yet a young man he was joined in marriage to Miss Margaret Zimmer. For several years following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Krohe made their home on a farm near Bluff Springs. Later they moved to a farm near Arenzville. Some years later they moved to Beardstown and Mr. Krohe engaged in the farm implement business at the corner of Main and Lafayette streets.
   It was while engaged in business at that location that he was chosen a member of the city council and served as Alderman for the years 1893 and 1894.
   Some time later he formed a partnership with George Huss and under the firm name of Krohe and Huss engaged in the farm implement business on corner of Second and Jefferson street.
   After the dissolution of this partnership relation, Mr. Krohe accepted a position as traveling salesman for the International Harvester company and he continued in this service until failing health compelled him to give up his work.
   His wife preceded him to the grave, her death having occurred about 9 years ago. Father and mother are now both gone. The children that survive them are Otto, of Aurora, Ill., Julius, Herman and Arthur all of Beardstown, and one daughter, Miss Margaret, who also resides here, having been since her mother's death the keeper of the home for her father and younger brother.
   Deceased is also survived by his father F. A. Krohe, his brothers, Edward and A. R. both of Sangamon valley, two sisters, Mrs. Adam Schaefer, of this city and Mrs. Louis Zimmer of Jacksonville.
   Funeral services will be held at the family residence, corner of Eleventh and Jefferson streets, at 1:30 p.m. and at Sixth Street Lutheran church at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 29. The services will be conducted by the Rev. G. Luecke, of the Sixth Street Lutheran church. Interment in Oetgen cemetery.

Thomas A. "Tom" Krohe March 19, 1925-September 10, 1996
   Thomas A. "Tom" Krohe, 71, 105 North Middle Park Drive and a former Cuba resident, died in the Graham Hospital at Canton at 6:26 p.m. Tuesday, September 10.
   He was born on March 19, 1925 at Whitehall, IL to Irl and Adah Knight Krohe. He married Mary Francis Jayne at Cuba in 1951. She preceded him in death on April 4, 1987. He later married Janet Huff at Macomb on August 22, 1991. She survives. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Krohe.
   He is survived by three stepsons, John Huff'of Farmington and Patrick Huff of Canton; three step grandchildren; a brother, Franc Krohe of Cuba and four nieces.
   He worked for the Freeman-United Coal Coal Co. for 27 years prior to his retiring in 1973. He and his wife, Mary owned and operated the Marshall True Value Hardware store in Cuba for 17 years until his retirement in 1987.
   He served in the Navy during World War 2. He was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church, Cuba Russell Smith American Legion Post 533, Lewistown Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5001, Canto Country Club, Wee Ma Tuk Hills Country Club and the Canton Moose and Elks lodges.
   Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 13 at the Henry Memorial Home in Cuba with the Reverend Randv McGeehon officiating.
   Burial was in the Cuba Cemetery.
   Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Walter Krohe Dies
    Walter Krohe, 74, former Beardstown resident, died Tuesday evening at Pekin Hospital, Pekin.    
    He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Lucille McCombs, and a daughter Susan at home.
    Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p. m.  and 6 to 8 p. m. today at Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin.
    Funeral services will be at 1 p. m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
