A. W. Jokisch, Aged 91, Dies
   Albert W. Jokisch, prominent farmer of the Bluff Springs vicinity, died at 9:30 o'clock this morning at his farm home one mile south of Bluff Springs. he was 91 years of age last July.
   Although in failing health for sone time he had been bedfast only for the past two weeks.
   The funeral is to be held at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Bluff Springs Methodist church. Burial will be in the city cemetery.
   Surviving are the wife, Jennie: six children Arthur, Mrs Florence Bins, Rudolph, Mrs Alma Tink, Miss Bertha Jokisch and Mrs. Laura Clayton: and two sisters Miss Cora Jokisch and Mrs. Tillie Jones, all of the Bluff Springs neighborhood.
   The family will recieve friends who wish to view the body at Cline's Funeral Home tomorrow evening between 7:30 and 9 o'clock.

Anna Rose Jockisch, 1913-2007, Virginia
   Anna Rose Jokisch, 93, of Virginia, and formerly of Ashland, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 2, 2007, at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
She was born Oct. 25, 1913, in Morgan County, the daughter of Louis L. And Rose C. Newell Jokisch.
   She is survived by two sisters, Margaret Meier of New Berlin and Muriel (husband, Marshall) Baker of Alexandria, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis Lyle, in infancy and Newell; and one sister, Lucille Blank.
   Ms. Jokisch attended Illinois College and graduated from Western Illinois University. Upon graduation, she embarked upon a 43-year teaching career which included Crow's Point and Yankeetown Country Schools and Ashland and Pleasant Plains Grade Schools. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the church's Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of Ashland Woman's Club. An avid reader, she also enjoyed bird watching and traveling. She enjoyed playing bridge and belonged to several bridge clubs.
   A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Ashland with burial in St. Augustine Cemetery in Ashland. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Massie-Buchanan Funeral Home in Ashland, where a prayer service will be held at 4:45 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Augustine Church, Ashland U-Help, Inc., or Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice. Arthur E. Jokisch
   Arthur E. Jokisch, 87, of Bluff Springs, died at Schmitt Memorial Hospital in Beardstown Sunday at 10:20 p.m. He had entered the hospital on Jan. 18.
   Mr. Jokisch was born near Bluff Springs on Dec. 28, 1881, the son of Albert and Jennie Arnoldi Jokisch. He was married to Maude M. Lee on Jan. 31, 1912. To this union three daughters and a son were born. His wife passed away on November 20, 1923.
   Mr. Jokisch was again married to Meda E. Lee on October 14, 1933. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and one son in infancy, and two sisters.
   He is survived by his wife, Meda; two daughters, Mrs. Ben "Bernice" Maxwell of Champaign, and Mrs. Allan "Alta" Jackson of Pound Ridge, New York; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Rudolph Jokisch, Bluff Springs; two sisters, Mrs. Alma Tink and Mrs. Laura Clayton of Virginia; one aunt; three nieces and two nephews.
   Mr. Jokisch was a member of the United Methodist Church of Bluff Springs where services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m, The remains will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Thursday to lie in state.
    Friends may call at the Cline Funeral Home Wednesday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. There will be no formal visitation with the family.
   Burial will be in the Cline Perpetual Care Section of the city cemetery.

   Arthur R. Jokisch Arthur R. Jokisch, 98, died Sunday, July 17, 1994, in Broken Arrow, Okla. He was born Aug. 29, 1895, in Virginia, the son of Morris and Mary Musch Jokisch. He married Monell Steinbrink, on Sept 23, 1916, in Virginia. She preceded in death April 29, 1989.
   He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. James D.(Margaret) Sandidge of Tulsa, Okla.; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 12 great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Darrell; six brothers and two sisters.
   He was a member of the Church of Christ of Jacksonville He was a farmer for many years. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Cody and Son Memorial Home with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. Friends may call one hour before time of services. Memorials are suggested to the Church of Christ.

Death of C. T. Jokisch
   Carl Traugott Jokisch, residing near Bluff Springs, passed away yesterday, having been gored some weeks since by the horn of a vicious animal, which was a deathly wound from the time.
   He was born in Germany, near Bautzen, January 4, 1822. In the fall of 1834, when thirteen years of age, he came with his parents to this country. The landed in this city in February, 1835, coming by the way of New Orleans, and up the river to St. Louis, where his mother took sick and died. He was the father of twelve children, several of whom have passed on before.
   Mr. Jokisch was a man of very quiet, pleasant disposition, and industrious, unassuming and successful farmer, owning as fine a farm as there is in the county, containing 235 acres.
   He was married in this county to Mary Ellen Carls who survives him. They were both members of the German M. E. church, living consistent with the principles of their profession.

Mrs. Oswell Jokisch Dies
Funeral Services to be Held Monday
   Mrs. Oswell Jokisch, 57, died at five o'clock yesterday afternoon at her home two miles south of Bluff Springs, following a several months illness.
   The body was brought to the Cline Funeral Home in this city to be prepared for burial and funeral services will be held at the Funeral Home at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. The Rev. Glenn Crawford, pastor of the Bluff Springs Methodist church will be in charge of the services.
   Friends may call at the Funeral Home between 7:30 and 9:00 o'clock Sunday night.
   Dora Elmira Welfare was born on March 12th, 1888 in this city the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. F. E. Welfare. On January 1, 1926 she was united in marriage to Oswell Jokisch at Dallas, Texas.
   The deceased is survived by her husband, two sons, Luron of the United States army, stationed at Sheppard Field, Texas, and John Philip at home. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Welfare of Dallas, Texas and two sisters, Mrs. Theron W. Walters of Aurora, and Mrs. J. E. Burkholder of Dallas. One son preceded her in death.

   Deceased Was the Mother of Supt. H. J. Jokisch of this City
Mrs. Elinore Jokisch, widow of Gotthelf Jokisch, died at her home near Bluff Springs this morning of senility. She was born in Hanover, Germany in 1824 and came to this country in 1843, three years later being united in marriage to Charles Gotthelf Jokisch, who died in 1874. She was a life long member and a faithful worker in the Methodist church. Six children are left to survive her, namely: Maurice, of Virginia: Mary E., Bluff Springs; Philip J., Mrs. Amelia Hackman, Edward F., Virginia; and Supt. H.. J. Jokisch, of this city. The funeral services will be held at the German M. E. church, Jokisch settlement Sunday, April 13th at 2 o'clock p. m. Interment at Jokisch cemetery.
   Since the above was put in type, word has been received announcing the fact that Miss Mary Jokisch died at the family residence at 1 o'clock today after a lingering illness. The funeral service of the daughter will be held at the same time and place as that of the mother. She was 54 years of age.
At The Tomb
   Sunday, at the old homestead, occurred the double funeral of Mrs. Elinore and daughter, Mary E. Jokisch. The services were conducted by Rev. J. A. Burchit, of Virginia, One of the largest funeral corteges ever witnessed followed the remains to their last resting place, the family burying ground situated on the hill near the German M. E. church, of which denomination the were faithful members. The floral tributes were beautiful and profuse.

   Mrs Emma Jokisch, 82, native of Beardstown, died yesterday morning at Our Saviour's Hospital, Jacksonville, where she had been a patient three months.
   Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Virginia with the Rev. Floyd Brewer in charge. Interment will be in the Walnut Ridge Cemetery. The body was taken to the Massie Funeral Home in Virginia where friends may call this evening.
   Mrs Jokisch was the wife of the late Frank Jokisch. She was born in this city July 17, 1870, daughter of Henry and Katherine Serth Hessler.
   She is surivived by two sons, Orvil of Literberry and Clarence oof Virginia; a daughter, Mrs Albert Brodkhouse of Virginia; two sisters Mrs. Otto Boensel and Mrs. Albert Korte, both of Bluff Springs and six grandchildren.

Frederick Oswell Jokisch, 85, a lifelong Cass County farmer, died at the Memorial Hospital in Springfield at 6:25 a. m. today.
   He was born in Cass County on December 20, 1884, the son of John and Sarah Hackman Jokisch. He was married to Dora Welfare on January 1, 1925. Mrs. Jokisch passed away on April 20, 1945.
   He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Bluff Springs and Cass Lodge A. M. and F. M. of the Masons.
   He was also preceded in death by one son, one granddaughter, his parents, one brother and three sisters.
   He is survived by two sons, John Jokisch of rural Bluff Springs, and Luron Jokisch of Arlington, Texas; two granddaughters, four grandsons, and one great-grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Inez Chambers of Bluff Springs, and Mrs. Irene Seaman of rural Beardstown; also numerous nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services will be held at the Cline Funeral Home on Friday at 2 p. m. with Rev. Fred Harris of Jacksonville officiating. Burial will be in the City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cline Funeral Home Thursday from 7:30 to 9 p. m.

   Mrs. Jennie Margaret Jokisch of Bluff Springs, widow of the late Albert Jokisch, died at 1:30 yesterday afternoon at Schmitt Memorial hospital where she had been a patient since last Thursday.
   The body was taken to Cline's Funeral Home to be prepared for burial.
   Friends may call from 7 to 9 o'clock tomorrow night at Cline's Funeral Home.
   The body will be taken to the late home in Bluff Springs Sunday morning.
   Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Bluff Springs Methodist Episcopal church by the Rev. J. D. Reed. Interment will be in the city cemetery.
   Mrs. Jennie Margaret Jokisch was born March 22, 1862 in Cass county, the daughter of Ernest and Amelia Arnoldi.
   She was married September 8, 1880 to Albert Jokisch at the home of her parents, southwest of Bluff Springs.
   Mr. Jokisch preceded her in death in december 1947.
   Surviving are six children, Arthur Jokisch, Mrs. Florence Bins, Rudolph Jokisch, Mrs Alma Tink, Bertha Jokisch, and Mrs Laura Clayton, all of Bluff Springs neighborhood, 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
   Mrs. Jokisch lived her entire life in the Bluff Springs vicinity. She was a member of the Bluff Springs M. E. church and was always active in church work.

John. Howard Jokisch, 76, retired insurance man of Virginia, died Saturday night at the walker Nursing home following a long illness.
   Remains were taken to the Massie Funeral Home in Virginia and later removed to the family residence where friends may call. Services will be held at 2.30 o'-clock tomorrow afternoon at the Virginia Methodist church. Interment will be in the Walnut Ridge cemetery.
   Mr. Jokisch was born at Bluff Springs, July 29, 1876. He was active in organizing the Cass County Farm Bureau and later the Cass County Mutual Fire Insurance company, serving as its secretary for 27 years when he resigned due to ill health.
   He also served as secretary and adjuster for the Country Mutual Fire company, Chicago, for 15 years. He was president of the district Mutual Cyclone Insurance company, Springfield for two years preceding his retirement.
   He was a member of the Virginia Methodist church, the Masonic lodge, and served on many boards and committees during his lifetime.
   He is survived by his wife, the former Mae Bowman; four daughters, Mrs. Reta Pratt, Springfield; Mrs. John Ross, Chicago; Mrs. George Henderson, Tullula; Mrs. Crum Sinclair, Virginia; one son; John Howard Jokisch, jr. Birmingham, Alabama; four grandchildren: six brothers, Robert, Elmer, Reuben, and Albert, all of Virginia, Lloyd of Springfield and Arthur of Jacksonville, and two sisters, Mrs. William Allison of Mason City and Mrs. Walter Way of Goodland, Kansas, also survive.

   Services held Wednesday for Mrs. R. Jokisch - Passes Away Monday At Barnes Hospital
Largely attended funeral services for Mrs. Josephine S. Jokisch were held Wednesday afternoon at the Presbyterian church in this city with Rev. T.C. Burton officiating. Organ music was furnished by Mrs. Otto L. Dour. Burial was in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Casket bearers were Edwin and Clifford Sudbrink, Charles Caldwell, Gene Brockhouse, Elmer Jurgens, Eugene Clemons, Luren and John Jokisch. Miss Betty Nan Anderson and Miss Louise Ruppel assisted with the flowers. Mrs. Jokisch submitted to surgery on Thursday of last week at Barnes hospital in St. Louis and her condition was reported to be satisfactory. On Sunday morning, she became worse, and passed away Monday at 4:30 a.m. Mrs. Jokisch was the daughter of William and Janet Taylor Sudbrink, and spent here [her] entire life in the community. She is survived by her husband, Roy Jokisch, two daughters, Mrs. Walter Adkins and Mrs. Russell Davidsmeier, both of this city, two sisters, Mrs. Otto Wernsing of Decatur and Miss Mary Sudbrink of this city. She was a member of the local Presbyterian church and was active in its various departments, particularly the choir and the Missionary society. Her passing will be felt keenly by the entire church, as the well as the community.

Mrs. Ralph Jokisch passes away Monday
   Mrs Juanita L. Shinn Jokisch 80 of rural Virginia died Monday February 17th at Schmitt Memorial Hospital in Beardstown.
   Mrs. Jokisch was born November 23, 1894, in St. Louis. She married Ralph Jokisch and he survives. Also surviving are a son Wilbur Daniels of Tucson, Arizonia, four grandchildren: and three great-grandchildren.
   Funeral services were held Wednesday, 2 p. m. at Massie Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Collisson officiating.
   Pallbearers were Glenn Sweatman, Ronnie Sweatman, Don Huff, Gayle Smith, Martin Davidsmeier and Brian Adkins.
   Burial was in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.

L. H. Jokisch, Cass Farmer, Dies Today
Funeral Services Will Be Held At 2:30 Sunday Afternoon At Residence
   Louis H. Jokisch, prominent farmer of the Bluff Springs community died at 8:05 o'clock this morning at his home one mile south of Bluff Springs. He was 87 years, 1 month and 14 days of age.
   The body was brought to the Simpson Home for Services to be prepared for Burial. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock.
   Sunday afternoon at the late residence. The Rev. A. E. Ashton will be in charge.
   Mr. Jokisch was born March 15, 1851 at Beardstown, the son of C. T. Jokisch and Mary Ellen Jokisch. In early childhood his family moved to a farm near Arenzville where he attended the West Point school. He was graduated from the Beardstown high school with the class of 1868 and then attended Central Wesleyan college at Warrington, Mo., graduating in 1871.
   Immediately after graduation he began teaching in the schools of Centralia, Illinois. He continued teaching in Centralia thirty years until the death of his father and then returned home to assume the responsibility of helping his mother manage the farm home where he had since resided.
   He with his sister Cora had maintained the home there for a number of years following the mother's death.
   He is survived by two sisters Miss Cora Jokisch at home, Mrs. Charles Jones and one brother, Albert Jokisch of Bluff Springs, together with 27 nieces and nephews and 33 grandnieces and nephews.
   He was preceded in death by his parents and the following brothers and sisters. Mrs. Philipena Blohm, Edward, George, Mrs. Emma Wilson, Mrs. Elizabeth Hageman, John, Ida, and Richard.
    The decedent had spent the greater part of his life in the Bluff Springs community where he was respected for his honesty and integrity. He was familiarly known to many as Uncle Louis.
   He maintained a great interest in music and while in Centralia was a member of the city orchestra for many years, being able to play a number of different instruments.

Funeral For Louis Jokisch Is Held
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the late residence near Bluff Springs for Louis Jokisch, who died Friday. The Rev. A. E. Ashton was in charge.
   Mrs. E. T. Hunter and Mrs Tillie Schweer, accompanied by Miss Hazel Yockey, sang "Nearer My God to Thee" "Lights of Home" and "Jesus Lover of My Soul".
   Pallbearers were Charles Blohm, Arthur Jokisch, Rudolph Jokisch, Richard Wilson, Edward Jones and Fred Jones.
   Mrs. Howard Tink, Mrs. Mae Newell, Mrs Emma Hageman and Miss Dorothy Jones cared for the flowers.

Margery L. Jokisch, 78, of rural Ashland, IL died Friday, May 15, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.
   She was born November 4, 1936 in rural Sparta, WI, the daughter of Floyd and Gladys Roder Livangood. She married George F. Jokisch on August 23, 1957 at the Ashland United Methodist Church in Ashland and he survives.
   She is also survived by two sons, Marshall Jokisch (wife, Julie) of rural Ashland and Todd Jokisch of rural Pleasant Plains; two grandchildren, Whitney Jokisch of Ashland and Logan Jokisch (fiancé, Raya Cloninger) of Collinsville; two sisters, Arlys Stark of Sparta, WI and Bernice “Bea” Woodworth (husband, Rev. Harold) of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gordon Livangood (surviving spouse, Emily of Sparta, WI); and a sister, Lillian Weineke.
   Margery was a graduate of Sparta, WI High School and Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She retired in 1997 following a distinguished 40 year career as a registered nurse in Labor and Delivery at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. She was a member of Ashland United Methodist Church. A talented cook, she was also a devoted homemaker, farm wife, and mother.
   Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at the Ashland United Methodist Church in Ashland with burial at Ashland Cemetery. The family will meet friends at the church from 10:00 am Wednesday until the time of services.    Mrs. Trangott Jokisch Dies at Her Home at Bluff Springs Saturday.
   Mrs. Trangott Jokisch, mother of Mrs. Chas. Wilson, of this city, died Saturday night at the family home at Bluff Springs, at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 4 days.
   Marie Eleanora Carls was born at Wimmer, Germany, August 28, 1834. She, with her parents, immigrated to America in 1845, coming direct to Cass county. On March 27, 1850, she was married to Carl Trangott Jokisch, who died January 16, 1899. To their union twelve children were born, seven of whom survive. They are; Louis H., Albert W., George F. and Richard R. Jokisch. Mrs. Chas. Wilson, Mrs. Chas. Jones and Miss Cora Jones, all residing in this county. She also leaves twenty-seven grand children and eighteen great-grandchildren. She had long been a member of the German M. E. church near Bluff Springs.
   Funeral services were held at the Bluff Springs M. E. church at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning. Rev. Stokes of Bluff Springs and Rev. Wahl of Quincy, conducting the services. Interment was made in the Jokisch cemetery.

    Mary Musch was born in Cass County December 7, 1854 and died at her late home east of town yesterday morning. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church Rev. E. M. Jeffers officiating and interment will be made in Walnut Ridge cemetery.
    The deceased was married December 4, 1874, to Morris Jokisch and to them nine children were born, all of whom survive. They are Howard, Robert, Elmer, Reuben, Lloyd, Arthur, Albert, and Lena, all of this vicinity and Mrs. Grace Allison of Muskogee, Okla. The husband also survives together with twelve sisters and brothers. The are Frank Musch, Hartford, Kan.; John Musch, Chapin; Mrs. Lena Carls, Beardstown; Mrs. George Harris, Edmund Okla.; Mrs. George Cosner, Lake Charles, La.; Mrs. L. L. Savage, Ashland; Mrs. W. B. Conover, Lake Arthur, La.; Mrs. Julia Selman, Bloomfield, Iowa; Mrs. C. H. Bentley, Lebanon, Mo.; Mesdames Herman Carls and J. A. Thornborrow and W. H. Musch of this city. The aged father, John Musch also survives. The deceased had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church for thirty-three years. She was a member of the Martha society and a prominent church worker. She had spent her whole life in this community. Her last illness was prolonged and her death was not unexpected.

MORRIS JOKISCH AGED VIRGINIA RESIDENT DIES
Funeral Services To Be Held At Church Today
   Morris Jokisch, 94, one of Virginia's oldest residents, died shortly before noon Wednesday at the White Convalscent home. He was a life long resident of Cass county.
   Mr. Jokisch was born near Bluff' Springs September 21, 1849, the son of Chas. G, and Elnora Carls Jokisch. In December 1874, he was married to Mary Musch, who preceded him in death on April 28, 1910. In 1880 he moved to a farm five miles southeast of Virginia and farmed extensively until 1927.
   He is survived by nine children, Howard, Robert, Elmer, Reuben, and Arthur, of this city; Lloyd of Springfield, Albert, of Covina Calif. Mrs. William Allison, of Mason City and Mrs.Walter Way, of Goodland. Kansas; one brother, Edward Jokisch of Virginia, 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
   Funeral services for Mr. Jokisch will be held at two o'clock this afternoon at the Methodist church with Dr. M. M. Blair, officiating.
   Mrs. J. S, Haywood will sing "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Nearer My God To Thee" accompanied by Mrs. Lyle Turner.
   Pallbearers will be Roy Jokisch and Ralph Jokisch, of Virginia; Earl Hackman, Morton Hackman and Lorenzo Burris of Arenzville, and Oswell Jlisch, of Beardstown. Burial will be in Walnut Ridge cemetery.

Newell L. "Bud" Jokisch
   Newell L. "Bud" Jokisch, 83, of Ashland, died Thursday, September 29, 1994 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
   He is survived by one son, Louis L. Jokisch of Ashland: one daughter, Mrs. L. W. (Andrea) Woodworth of Rowayton, Conn.; four grandchildren; Three sisters, Anna Rose Jokisch of Ashland, Margaret Meier of New Berlin and Muriel Baker of Alexandria, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. br>   Burial was in Ashland Cemetery.

Oren Jokisch Dies At Home, Near Bluff Springs, Last Night
Oren Philip Jokisch son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Jokisch residing south of Bluff Springs, passed away at 10:30 o'clock last night following an illness of six days duration.
   The deceased was 41 years, 8 months, and 29 days of age at the time of his death. He was never married and having made his home with his parents.
   He was taken ill with pneumonia last Thursday and has been critically ill since that time. Everything possible was done for his relief but he gradually grew worse succumbing last night.
   He is survived by his parents, one brother, Oswald, and four sisters, Mrs. Chas. Feidler, Springfield and Mrs. Wm. Thompson Mrs. Oscar Chambers and Mrs. Roy Seaman all of Bluff Springs.
   Funeral services will be held Friday, February 17th, at the home at 2 o'clock and interment will be made at the Jockisch cemetery.

DEATH CLAIMS PHILLIP JOKISCH
   Mr. Philip Jokisch, prominent farmer of Cass county, passed away this morning following an illness of but a few days.
   Mr. Jokisch was taken ill only last Sunday, developing pneumonia almost immediately and was seriously ill from the first. Everything possible was done for his relief but he gradually grew worse, succumbing this morning.
   The deceased was about 76 years of age and his death comes just two months following that of his son, Orin, who passed away in the home, succumbing to the same illness.
   Mr. Jokisch has resided for many years on his farm near the old Jokisch homestead and has always been held in the highest esteem of all who have known him, being a man of sterling worth and integrity and always ready and willing to lend a helping hand. He will not only be greatly missed in the community but also in the Methodist church in Bluff Springs, where he has always been an active member.
   He is survived by his wife and four daughters, Mrs. Viola Fiedler, Mrs. Verna Thompson, Mrs. Inez Chambers and Mrs. Irene Seaman and one son Oswald, who lives at home, together with a number of grandchildren and other relatives.
   Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at the late home at 1:30 o'clock with Rev. Hall officiating. Interment in the Jokisch cemetery.

Ashland Cass County Ill. Friday February 1, 1963 Rose Jokisch Rites held Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Catherine Jokisch who died at Our Saviour's hospital Saturday at 4:45 a.m. were held Monday morning at St. Augustine's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Vincent Heraty officiating.
   Mrs. Jokisch was born in Morgan County, August 13, 1885, the daughter of John J. and Mary Collins Newell. She married Louis Lee Jokisch June 1908 in Ashland.
   She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the Altar Society.Five children survive; Mrs. Lucille Blank, Springfield: Newell Jokisch of Ashland: Mess Anna Rose Jokisch of Ashland: Mrs. Margaret Mieir, New Berlin and Mrs. Muriel Baker, Montgomery, Alabama: one brother, Frank Newell of Ashland: two sisters, Mrs Alberta Scheferkort, Ashland and Mrs. William Freitag, Delphi Ind.
   Twelve grandchildren and four Great-grandchildren also survive.
   Paulbearers were; George Jokisch, James Newell, John L. Blank, Alferd Newell, Charles Newell and Lee Reynolds.
   Those in charge of the folwers were Marilyn Meier, Carol Meier, Andrea Jokisch, Margaret Selinger, Ann Baker and Delores Blank.

Funeral Rites Tuesday for Mrs. Edward Jokisch
   Mrs. Jokisch, 82, An Invalid For 20 Years, Passes Away Sunday At Her Home.
   Funeral services were held at 2:30 P. M. Tuesday at the residence for Mrs. Edward Jokisch. Rev. W. S. Neely of the Presbyterian church officiated and burial was in Walnut Ridge cemetery.
   Mrs. Jokisch who was 82 years old died Sunday evening at her home two miles south of here. She had been an invalid and had been confined to a wheel chair the last twenty years.
   Sarah Catherine Hageman was born July 20, 1859 west of Virginia, the youngest child of Isaac and Susan Lischey Hageman. She was united in marriage to Edward F. Jokisch on October 9, 1889 and lived all her married life in this vicinity. To this union were born three sons. William Earl who preceded her in death in 1904, Roy, and Ralph. She is survived by her husband, two sons and two granddaughters, Janet and Sara Katherine Jockisch.
   Pall bearers were Lorenzo Burrus, Earl and Martin Hackman, Arenzville; Oswald Jokisch, Bluff Springs; Robert and Arthur Jokisch of this city.
   Those who helped care for the floral offerings were Mrs. Clarence Jokisch, Mrs. Albert Brockhouse, Mrs. Bertha Petefish, and Mrs. Oswald Jokisch.

OLD RESIDENT OF CASS DIES AT HER HOME
   Mrs. Philip Jokisch, lifelong resident of Cass county, died at her home in Bluff Springs this morning at 6:15 o'clock following an illness of several months.
   The body was brought to Beardstown and taken to Cline Funeral home to be prepared for burial, and will be taken back to the home in Bluff Springs Sunday morning.
   Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon from the late home in Bluff Springs at 2 o'clock.
   Sarah Lydia Hackman was born on October 28, 1857 near Arenzville, Ill., where she lived until her marriage to Philip Jokisch on February 7, 1884. Following her marriage she resided on a farm south of Bluff Springs where she has lived until her death this morning.
   The deceased was a member of the German M. E. church at the Jockisch settlement until that church was discontinued, when the memberships were transferred to the Bluff Springs Methodist church and up to the time of her illness she was an active worker in the Ladies Aid Society of which she was a member.
   Mr. Jokisch preceded her in death on April 14, 1928 and her son Orin on February 14, 1928. A daughter , Edna also preceded her in childhood. One brother Henry Hackman and two sisters Mrs. Minnie Winklehake and Mrs. Sophia Kors have also passed away.
   The surviving are the following children: Mr. Oswell Jokisch, of Bluff Springs: Mrs. Viola Fiedler, Springfield: Mrs. Verna Thompson, Mrs. Inez Chambers and Mrs. Irene Seaman of Bluff Springs, together with one sister Miss Tillie Hackman of Beardstown and two brothers, Herman Hackman of Beardstown and Ed Hackman of near Arenzville, and nine grandchildren.

Walter Jokisch of near Bluff Springs dies this morning.
   Walter August Jokisch life long resident of Cass County, died at his home two miles south of Bluff Springs this morning following an illness of some time. The deceased was born on April 30th, 1862, near Bluff Springs and was 70 years, 1 month and 10 days of age at the time of his death.
   He was united in marriage to Miss Anna L. Phillipps on April 29th 1886. To this union eight children were born, six of whom preceded him in death.
   He is survived by his wife, one son Carl at home and one daughter, Mrs. Harold Ore of Arcadia, Illinois, and one grandson Harold Edward Ore. The body was brought to the Simpson Home for Services to be prepared for burial and was returned to the home this afternoon.
   Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence and at 2:30 o'clock from the Methodist church in Bluff Springs with the Rev. Halfyard pastor of the church in charge. Interment will be made in the family lot in the Jokisch cemetery.

William Jokisch May 7, 1993
   William Fred Jokisch, 95, of Taylorville, formerly of Arenzville, died at 10:04 p.m. Friday at Taylorville Care Center.
   He was born March 9, 1898, in Arenzville, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Jokisch. He married Gwendolyn Becker in Jacksonville, and she preceded him in death.
   Mr. Jokisch was a retired farmer and a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Arenzville.
   Surviving are two stepdaughters, Mrs. Jessie Damarin of Taylorville and Mrs. Joy Beath of Springfield: three step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
   Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Arenzville.
   Sutton Memorial Home, Taylorville, is in charge of arrangements.

Services Held for William Jokisch
   Funeral services for William E. Jokisch of Arenzville, who died Wednesday at the age of 88 years, 7 months and 25 days, were held yesterday afternoon in Arenzville.
   A prayer service was held at 1:45 o'clock at the Simpson Funeral home in Arenzville, after which services were held at 2:30 o'clock at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Arenzville. The Rev. E. A. Slottag was in charge of the services. Interment was in the St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
   "Have Thine Own Way, Lord" and "What A Friend We Have in Jesus" were sung by Mrs. Robert Brasell, Mrs. E. A. Slottag, Miss Rose Ann Ruppel and Miss Ruth Dahman. Mrs. Inez Dahman played the organ accompaniment.
   Flowers were cared for by Mrs. H. C. Brockhouse, Mrs. Garce Zulauf, Mrs. Norma Schweer, and Inez Lovekamp.
   Pallbearers were Dick Fricke, Ralph Schweer, Herman Lovekamp, Robert Hierman, William Bielschmidt, and Chester Carls.
   Died March 22. 1950
