   Died at her residence in Arenzville on the 8th, Mrs.Adam Herbert. She was buried at Arenzville cemetery on Wed. She was 45.

Donald R. 'Duck' Herron, 1939-2007
   Donald R. "Duck" Herron, 67, of Chandlerville, died Thursday morning, May 31, 2007, at his residence.
   He was born July 30, 1939, in Beardstown, the son of Huey Thomas and Henrietta LaVerne Turner Herron. He married Mary Ross on May 5, 1961, in Mount Sterling, and she survives.
   He is also survived by three daughters, Diana L. (husband, Barry) Bussone of Springfield and Dona C. (husband, Robby) Huffman and Susan J. (husband, Tony) Towery, both of Chandlerville; six grandchildren; and one brother, Richard E. of Jacksonville.
   Mr. Herron was of the Baptist faith. He worked for seven years on the Illinois and Mississippi River as a deck hand. He then worked for Holsom Bread in Jacksonville for five years and worked for Oscar Mayer in Beardstown for 15 years. Following that he worked as an evening shift supervisor in the housekeeping department of Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville from where he retired. In addition these occupations, he operated the Family Theater in Chandlerville from 1968 until 1980, and also delivered newspapers for the Jacksonville Journal-Courier and the Springfield State Register.
   Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Chandlerville Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the time of services Sunday at Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville. Memorials are suggested to Memorial Hospital Hospice. Condolences may be left at www.hurleyfh.com.

Charles 'Chuck' Herter, 1958-2007, Beardstown
   Charles "Chuck" David Herter, 49, of Beardstown, died Wednesday morning, Oct. 10, 2007, at his residence.
   He was born July 6, 1958, in Springfield, the son of Don and Glenda Gietl Herter. He married Sherry Weishaar on Aug. 7, 1982, in Beardstown, and she survives.
   He is also survived by one son, Adam at home; one daughter, Alyssa at home; four brothers, Don Jr. (wife, Marcie), Mike, Joe (wife, Kelly) and Steve (companion, Kendra Kallas), all of Beardstown; two sisters, Ginny (husband, Scott) Reller of Rushville and Janet (husband, Harvey) Pate of Ashland; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one child; and one brother, Richard Douglas.
   Mr. Herter graduated from Beardstown High School in 1976. He was a member of B.P.O. Elks 1007 in Beardstown and he previously coached for Beardstown Little League. He and his business partner, Randy Epping, owned and operated West End Builders in Beardstown since 1982. He was always willing to volunteer his time, services and carpentry talents in community service projects including building seats at Beardstown Little League Park, installing gym floor for St. John's Lutheran School and remodeling the Beardstown Elks Club. Not only being a local sports fan and supporter, he was also an avid Vikings football fan.
   Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown, with burial at Beardstown City Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, where the family will meet friends from 4-7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the family. Condolences may be sent to [email protected].

Michael Dennis 'Mike' Herter, 1957-2008, Beardstown
   Michael "Mike" Dennis Herter, 51, of Beardstown, died Sunday March 23, 2008, at his residence.
   He was born March 21, 1957, in Springfield, the son of Don and Glenda Gietl Herter.
   He is survived by one son, Ryan Michael (companion, D.J. Coats) of Beardstown; three brothers, Don Jr. (wife, Marcie), Joe (wife, Kelly) and Steve (companion, Kendra Kallas), all of Beardstown; and two sisters, Ginny (husband, Scott) Reller of Rushville and Janet (husband, Harvey) Pate of Ashland. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles David "Chuck" and Richard Douglas.
   Mr. Herter graduated from Beardstown High School with the class of 1975. He worked at Trinity Steel, Bohn Aluminum, and in Fort Myers, Fla., for several years doing carpentry work before returning to Beardstown. He was also employed by West End Builders prior to his illness. He was an avid Jacksonville Jaguars fan, deer hunter, and enjoyed boating on the Illinois River.
   Cremation rites were accorded. The family will meet with friends and family at one of his favorite stomping grounds, Harvey's Equipment Service, 4800 Boulevard Road in Beardstown, from 2-8 p.m. Saturday, where refreshments will be provided. HERZBERGER, Conrad - The Cass County Historian, March 2000, taken from Virginia Gazette, March 10, 1882
   Died at his residence in Sangamon Bottoms, Conrad Herzberger. He was born November 9, 1831 in Queckborn' Kreis, Gruenberg, Hessen Darmstadt, Germany. He came here in 1863. He leaves a daughter from his first marriage. In 1865 he married Miss Dorre of Jacksonville, she survives with four children.

HERZBERGER, Donna - Cass County Star Gazette, January 25, 2012
   Donna Herzberger, 46, of St. Louis (formerly of Virginia, IL) died peacefully at the home of her parents. A church memorial service will be held at King City Presbyterian Church in King City, Mo on Saturday, January 28, at 2:00 o'clock pm. A memorial for friends and family in the Virginia, IL area will be held Sunday, July 22nd (place TBD). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
