Byran Hacker, 67 dies Friday afternoon
   Bryan R. Hacker, 67 of 547 Labor Drive, South Jacksonville, died Friday afternoon, November 23, 1990, at Passavant Hospital. he was born August 22, 1923 in Morgan County, the son of James Bryan and Grace Ragen Hacker. He married Ruby Launer August 12, 1943, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Arenzville. He is survived by his wife; his stepmother, Mabel Hacker of Jacksonville; one son, Larry of Jacksonville; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Darlene) Richardson of rural Jacksonville and Mrs Wayne (Debbie) Fritz of Waukegan; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister Ada Hundley of Springfield, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents and a brother, Paul. Mr. Hacker was a farmer prior to his retirement in 1978. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Liter Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home with burial at Chapin Cemetery. Friends may call after noon Sunday with the family will meet friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Liter Baptist Church.
   Funeral services for Bryan R. Hacker were held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 26, 1990, at the Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Rollet officiating. The organest was Ruth Rexroat. Special music included "Amazing Grace". Paullbearers were Wes Richardson, Dean Richardson, Chris Richardson, Greg Hacker, Kenneth Hundley and Bryan Hacker. Burial was in Chapin Cemetery. The Obituary for Mr. Hacker which appeared in Sunday's newspaper unintentionally omitted one survivor, The deceased's stepsister, Alma Fern McKenzie of Edina, Mo.

John A. Hacker, 1931-2007, Beardstown
   John Allen Hacker, 76, of Milan, and formerly of Beardstown, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at Illini Hospital in Silvis.
   He was born June 10, 1931, in Burlington, Iowa, the son of John and Ila Hacker. He married Clarice Jean Weller on Feb. 2, 1957, in Beardstown, and she preceded him in death in August 1991.
   He is survived by companion, Carolyn Shonts; four sons, Richard (wife, Nancy) of Edgington, Tim (wife, Penny) of Beardstown, Doug of Davenport, Iowa, and David (wife, Carrie) of LaCosta, Calif.; one daughter, Cathy Johnson of Galesburg; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gene of Interlachen, Fla., and Jack and Fred, both of Alexis; two sisters, Patricia McDorman of Gilson and Carol (husband, Don) Ash of Alexis; and stepfather, Clarence Skiles of Knoxville. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter.
   Mr. Hacker was a self-employed carpet layer for 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. Some of his most enjoyable times were hunting with his sons and grandsons and telling tall tales about those hunts. He was a Korean War veteran serving with the U.S. Army.
   Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown, with burial at Beardstown City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday at Wheelen-Pressley Funeral Home in Milan and one hour prior to services Saturday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Ruby J. Hacker 1922-2002 Jacksonville
   Ruby J. Hacker, 79, of Jacksonville, died Thursday morning, September 5, 2002, at the Jacksonville Convalescent Center in Jacksonville. She was born September 16, 1922, in Beardstown the daughter of Richard and Lydia Krohe Launer. She married Bryan Raymond Hacker August 12, 1943, at St, Peter's Church in rural Arenzville, and he precede her in death November 23, 1990. She is survived by one son, Larry (wife, Susan) of Jacksonville; two daughters, Darlene (husband, Charles) Richardson of rural Jacksonville, and Debbie (husband, Wayne) Fritz of Waukegan; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers Gilbert Launer and Earl Launer, both of Beardstown; one sister, Violet Reichert of Beardstown; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph, Harvey, Marvin, and Everett Launer and her twin sister Ruth Spoon. Mrs. Hacker was first employed at J. Capps & Sons in Jacksonville, and later at Hertzberg-New Method Book Bindery in South Jacksonville, from were she retired in 1988. She was a graduate of Beardstown High School and a member of the Liter Baptist Church and the church's Ladies Aid in Literberry. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Chapin Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Liter Baptist Church.

Hold Rites For Mrs. Ed Hackman, Impressive Services are Held At Home And Church
   Short funeral services were held at 12:30 o'clock Monday at the late home near Arenzville for Mrs. Ed. Hackman and were conducted from St Peter's Lutheran Church at one o'clock by Rev. Kenneth Bruno Newman.
   Mrs. Tillie Schweer and Mrs. Edward Hunter sang "Lead Kindly Light," "Asleep in Jesus," and "Jesus Lover of My Soul," during the services.
   Interment was made in the Hackman cemetery with the following casketbearers: Oliver Hackman, Rudy Meyers, August Hansmier, Julius Jokisch, Herman Lovekamp, and William Winkleman.
   Flower girls were: Mrs Dora Hackman, and the Misses, Mary Janet Hackman, Annie Marie Hackman and Zelma Hackman.
   Amelia Jokisch, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Jokisch was born March 26th, 1859 near Bluff Springs and passed away at the Schmitt Memorial hospital in Beardstown, Saturday November 19. On Mardh 8th, 1882 she was united in marriage to Edward Hackman, who survived her with five children: Morton at home, Orville and Elmer of near this city, Mrs. Cora Burrus and Earl Hackman of near Arenzville.
   Mrs. Hackman was a devoted member of the German Methodist church and attended regularly until it was disbanded in that community. She was a quiet loving wife who took a keen interest in her home and extended a hearty welcome to all her friends.

E. F. Hackman Dies; Funeral is Saturday
Lifelong Cass Countian Succumbs at Hospital after Illness
   Edward F. Hackman, lifelong resident of Cass county and a promient farmer in the Arenzville community, died at 5:30 p.m. yesterday at the Schmitt Memtorial hospital in Beardstown.
   More than 84 years old, Mr. Hackman died at the hospital after a six weeks illness. He entered the hospital last Friday.
   The remains were removed to his late residence in Arensville township. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. K. Bruno Newman officiating. Interment will be in Hackman cemetery, northwest of Arenville.
   Pallbearers will be Glen W. Davis, Virginia: Loren and Clifford Burrus, Arenzville; John Hackman, Wilmington; Edward Hackman, Arenzville, and Robert Farrar, Beardstown. The flower girls will be granddaughters of the decedent.
   Mr. Hackman was born Nov. 28, 1855 on a farm in Arenzville township, the son of John-Frederick and Engeline Meyer Hackman. He resided with his parents until his marriage on March 8, 1882, to Miss Amelia Paulina Jokisch. She died in November, 1932. He retired from active farming in 1914.
   He served his district as school director and as treasurer of the school board. For three years he was a district commissioner. He was member of the Methodist church.
   Surviving are the following children: Elmer F., Virginia; Orville E., Decatur; Mrs. Lorenzo Burrus, Arenzville; Morton H. and Earl R., at home; one sister, Miss Matilda Hackman, Beatrice, Neb., and ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

HACKMAN, Helen Grace - Star-Gazette, Beardstown, Illinois, February 19, 2004 - Submitted by Carol Orwig
   Helen Grace Hackman, 94, of Springfield and formerly of Virginia and Vandalia, died Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at Oak Terrace Healthcare Center in Springfield.
   She was born September 27, 1909 in Virginia, the daughter of Jacob and Lenna Way Davis. She married John Edward Hackman in June of 1937 and he preceded her in death on September 11, 1977.
   She is survived by one son, J. Richard (wife, M. Judith) Hackman of Bethany, CT; tow granddaughters, Laura Dianne Hackman of New Canaan, CT and Julia Beth (husband, W. Trexler) Proffitt of Riverside, CA; three great-grandchildren; a sister Julia Lee "Judy" (husband John) Schaeffer of Springfield; two nieces and a nephew.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Glen Davis and on niece.
Mrs. Hackman devoted her life to the care, well-being and education of children. She taught elementary school for many years in Virginia and St. Elmo. She was active member of the United Methodist Churches in Virginia and Vandalia.
   Funeral services were held Saturday, February 14 at First Presbyterian Church in Virginia, with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia.

Mrs. Hackman Dies Today
Funeral Services Will Be Sunday
   Mrs. Rose Katherine Hackman, a life long resident of Cass county, died at noon today in Schmitt Memorial hospital at the age of 69 years 2 months and 20 days.
   The body was taken to the Simpson Home for Services . Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the late residence, near Beardstown on a farm. The Rev. A. E. Ashton of Bluff Springs will be in charge and burial will be in the family lot at the Jacksonville cemetery.
   The decedent was born near here July 16, 1869 and was united in marriage to Frank Hackman in 1891. Mr. Hackman died in 1896 and two children also preceded her, a son dying in infancy and a daughter, Mrs. Julius Carls, dying January 3, 1923.
   Surviving are two brothers, Harry Wagner of Jacksonville and Ed. Wagner of Virginia: two sisters, Mrs. Fred Cole and Mrs. Frank Guinther of near Virginia. Two half sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Schall of near Arenzville, Mrs. James Collins of Virginia, and a half brother, George Wagner of near Virginia, also survive, together with many nieces and nephews, two grandsons, William and Arthur Carls, and six great-grand children. She is also survived by her son-in-law Julius Carls, who has operated the farm and resided at the Hackman house since the marriage to the decedent's daughter.

HAGEMAN, ? - The Cass County Historian, December 1999, taken from Rushville Times, April 25, 1866
   A man by the name of Hageman committed suicide in Beardstown Wednesday of last week. He was worth ten to fifteen thousand dollars and yet thought he was going to starve, he hung himself. His wife found him but he died an hour later. He was formerly proprietor of a lumber yard there.

   Jack W. Hageman, 78, of Beardstown died Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville. He was born August 28, 1932 in Beardstown, the son of Willard Irwin and Helen V. Orr Hageman. He married Pauline �Pat� Florey on November 21, 1954 in Beardstown. Surviving is his wife Pauline �Pat� Hageman of Beardstown; his son Jack I. (wife Tammy) Hageman of Beardstown; two daughters Christina M. Smith of Jacksonville and Vickey L. (husband Craig) Stevens of Frederick; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters Patricia V. (surviving husband Larry of Arenzville) Garthaus and Lajune C. Hageman, a brother and sister in infancy, and his brother Orville �Skip� Lee Hageman. Jack graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1950 and immediately enlisted in the Army National Guard and served until 1952. His working career was involved in construction and he was a member of First Christian Church in Beardstown. Jack enjoyed being with and sharing time with his family�especially his grandchildren. Orville Lee "Skip" Hageman, 1936-2008, Beardstown
Orville Lee "Skip" Hageman, 71, of Superior, Wis., and formerly of Beardstown, died early Friday morning, Jan. 18, 2008, at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, Minn.
   He was born Feb. 11, 1936, in Beardstown, the son of William "Burr" and Helen Orr Hageman. He married Becky Ullan on July 20, 1989, in Superior, Wis., and she survives.
   He is also survived by four daughters, Becky (husband, Jim) Young of Virginia, Terri (husband, Les) Farwell of Beardstown, Cindy (husband, Scott) Cantrall of Andrew and Tonia Murray of Brainerd, Minn.; two sons, Tracy (wife, Linda) of Beardstown and Tim (wife, Nancy) of Big Lake, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Jack (wife, Pat) of Beardstown; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by one sister.
   Mr. Hageman attended Beardstown High School and was a U.S. Army veteran stationed in Germany. He was employed at Beardstown Flour Mill and Bell Telephone in Beardstown. In Superior, he was employed at Famous Foods and retired from the City of Superior. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 1239 in Beardstown and the Color Guard of Superior, Wis., and was past president of the vocalizers of Duluth, Minn. He was also involved with the Men's Country Pool, VFW Golf and Superior Bowling Leagues. He coached Little League in Beardstown and Superior for many years. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and relaxing outside. His greatest pleasures were his children, grandchildren and friends.
   Private services will be held at Soldiers Square at Greenwood Cemetery in Superior, Wis., at a later date. Cremation Society of Minnesota in Duluth, Minn., is in charge of arrangements.

   William Eric Hagen, 43, of Ashland, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007 at St. John's Hospice in Springfield.
   He was born Dec. 10, 1963 in Springfield, the son of William and Tonia Danenberger Hagen.
   He is survived by his parents of Springfield; one daughter, Caitlyn of Ashland; one son, Kyle of Ashland; one sister, Tiffani of Springfield; his grandmother, Helen Danenberger of Ashland; and companion, Linda Isaly of Springfield.
   Mr. Hagen was a graduate of Springfield Lanphier High School and attended Lincoln Land Community College and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He was self-employed as a licensed professional landscape contractor.
   Cremation rites will be accorded. Graveside memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Ashland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a fund to benefit his children.

Benson B. "Ben" Hager February 8, 1914-November 9, 2002
   Benson B. "Ben" Hager, 88, of Beardstown, died Saturday evening, November 9, 2002, at Heritage Manor South in Beardstown.
   He was born February 8, 1914 in Sangamon Valley Township near Beardstown, the son of Clarence William and Mary "Maye" Emmerson Harris Hager. He married Marie Wessel on January 29, 1939 in Palmyra, MO. She preceded him in death on May 19, 2002.
   Surviving are four daughters, Judith (husband Roger) Carlsen of Frankfort, Jean (husband Richard) Piehler and Donna (husband Bob) Hickernell, both of Rushville, and Elaine (husband Jon) Taylor of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Brian Florey, David Piehler, Andrea Florey Tatum, Todd Taylor, Amy Crum, Keith Taylor, Scott Taylor, and Joshua Carlsen; six great grandchildren, Erin Taylor, Erika Taylor, Chance Taylor, Hannah Crum, Addison Crum, and Chase Piehler; one brother,Omar Hager of Mesa, AZ; and two sisters, Betty Braden of Rudyard, MI and Margaret (husband Harry "Brock") Brockman of Jacksonville.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marie, and two brothers Vern and Dale.
   Mr. Hager attended Limbo School in the Sangamon Valley Township near Beardstown and he graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1932. He was an active member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown where he formerly served on the church council. Mr. Hager previously served on the ASCS Board in Virginia, the Bluff Springs Elevator Board, and the Bluff Springs Township Board. He served 35 years on the Brick School and Beardstown Boards of Education. He was a charter member of the Beardstown Ducks Unlimited and he was a 50-year member of the Beardstown B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1007. Mr. Hager farmed in the Sangamon River bottoms of Cass County from 1931 until his retirement in 1985. He enjoyed playing softball and baseball and was an avid duck hunter. Mr. Hager was lovingly devoted to his family and he will be sadly missed.
   Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown with the Rev. David Natzke officiating. Burial was in the Beardstown City Cemetery. Memorials have been suggested to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown or Cass County Hospice.

Janet L. Hager - 1935-2003 Ashland
   Janet L. Janet L. Hager, 67 years, of Ashland, IL died Tuesday morning, April 1, 2003 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
   She was born Oct. 5, 1935 in rural Virden, the daughter of Ivan Kendrick and Lillian Green Burris. She married Richard E. "Dick" Hager April 5, 1958 in Ashland, and he preceded in death June 8, 1990.
   She is survived by two sons, Rick (wife, Alicia) of Ashland and Ben (wife, Susie), both of Ashland; five grandchildren, Adam, Christopher, Nicholas, Lexi, and Alec Hager; one brother, Dick (wife, Martha) of Jacksonville; two sisters, Barbara "Bobbie" (husband, Carol) Hacker of Springfield and Deanna (husband, Jim) Hedderich of Bastrop, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Scott K. Hager on April 4, 1999.
   Mrs. Hager was a graduate of Springfield High School and was employed by Illinois Casualty Insurance, Commodity Merchants, and Timberlake Sales, all of Springfield. She later worked several years as church secretary for Ashland United Methodist Church, where she had been a member for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and antiques. She also enjoyed music and often played the piano and organ. She collected ducks, many of which were made by her husband.
   Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Ashland United Methodist Church in Ashland with burial at Ashland Cemetery.    Joe Hager, life long resident of Cass county, and prominent farmer near Ashland, Illinois, died at his home near that city at 10:30 o'clock this morning.
   The deceased had been ill for several months suffering from an incurable malady. Every possible effort was made for his relief but to no avail, and he gradually grew worse, succumbing this morning.
   The deceased was born in Sangamon Valley, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Hager and was about 59 years of age at the time of his death.
   He grew to manhood in the home where he was born. He was first united in marriage to Miss Bessie Dobbs and to this union two sons were born, Elmer and Glen. Mrs. Hager passing away a good many years ago.
   He was later married to Mrs. Katie Sweatman of near Beardstown and for some time they made their home in Beardstown where Mr. Hager was employed by the Burlington. They later moved to Ashland where the decedent has since farmed.
   He is survived by his wife and his tow sons, Glen and Elmer and two step children, Clarence and Marguerite Sweatman and by the following brothers and sisters; Doug of Clear Lake, Charles of Sangamon Valley, Mrs. Emma Crum of Winchester, Mrs. Mary Thompson of Beardstown, Mrs. Wm. Redshaw, Barry and Eva Brannan of Virginia.
   He is also survived by his step mother Mrs. Anna Hager of Beardstown.
   The following brothers and sisters have preceded him, Mrs. Rose Phelps, Mrs. Clara Phelps and Willie Hager, the latter who died while quite young.
   Funeral arrangements were not announced today.

HAGER, Omar E.
Omar E. Hager, January 9, 1912-January 19, 2014
   Omar E. Hager, 102 of Beardstown, died Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Heritage Health in Beardstown.
   He was born January 9, 1912 in Beardstown the son of Clarence and Maye Harris Hager. He married Beatrice Nelson and she died June 19, 1974. He later married Evelyn Benson who also died.
   Surviving is his step granddaughter Nancy Peterson of Iowa; his step great granddaughter Laura Webster of Iowa; his sister-in-law Phyllis Hager of Beardstown, several nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, his first and second wife, a step daughter Patricia Nelson, a step son Robert Nelson, a step great grandson Jeffrey Phippen, three brothers Vern, Ben, and Dale Hager, two sisters Betty Braden and Margaret Brockman, two nieces Janet Fyke and Jennifer Marie Hager, and a special nephew William “Bill” Hager.
   Omar graduated from Beardstown High School and in 1934 from the University of Illinois School of Commerce and Business Administration. He worked on his family farm for two years and then moved to Chicago and worked for the Anaconda Copper Mining Company until it closed in 1946. He then worked at Federated Metals in Indiana for two years and after that he moved to California to work with his college roommate to work in a paint pigment plant which later closed. Omar moved back to Indiana to work in the Business Office of the Hammond City School where he retired from in 1975.
   Omar was of the Methodist Faith. He was very active and proud member of the Masons in the Chicago and Indiana area. He was a member for over fifty years and received many awards for the positions he held as a Mason. Omar enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and spending time with his family.
   A service of remembrance will be held at 3 PM Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. The family will meet with friends from 1:30 PM until the time of services at the funeral home. Private family burial will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, IN at a later date.

   William Owen �Bill� Hager, 58 of Beardstown, died Saturday, June 09, 2012 at his home. He was born September 2, 1953 in Beardstown, the son of Dale and Phyllis Crisman Hager. He married Sunny Fussell on July 2, 1972 in Beardstown, IL. Surviving is his mother Phyllis Hager of Beardstown, his wife Sunny Hager of Beardstown, one daughter Becky (husband Jon) Stock of Beardstown; two sons Brice (wife Brandy), and Brandon Hager both of Beardstown, and five grandchildren Cole, Mackenzie, and Megan Stock, and Rachel and Molly Hager all of Beardstown; two brothers Terry (wife Linda) Hager of Beardstown and Aaron (wife Amy) Hager of St. Joseph, IL; and two sisters Vicki (husband Kent) Haberman of Beardstown and Emily (husband Kevin) Roberts of Osco, IL., one uncle Omar Hager of Rushville also survives. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister Jennifer Hager. Bill graduated from the Beardstown High School in the Class of 1971. He worked for the Bluff Springs Elevator Company for many years. He was then hired at the First State Bank of Beardstown where he worked for over 27 years. While employed at the bank he attended the IL Banking Association Ag Lending School at IL State University in June of 1987, and the Midwest School for Community Bankers at IL Wesleyan University in 2003 and 2004. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Beardstown, and was an member and past trustee for the Beardstown Elks B P O Lodge 1007. Bill was an avid duck hunter, and charter member of the Beardstown Ducks Unlimited Chapter. He loved coaching and attending his children�s sporting events and later in life watching his grandchildren�s sporting activities. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the First Christian Church in Beardstown. Burial will be in the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 4-7 PM Tuesday at Sager Funeral Home. Memorials have been suggested to the Elks Crippled Children�s Fund and Ducks Unlimited.    Died at his residence in the Sangamon Bottoms, Willie, son of Lyman and Ann Hager on the 25th. He was four years old and scaled in an accident and died 17 hours later.

Betty R. Hagloch, 1928-2007, Virginia
   Betty R. Hagloch, 78, of Virginia, died Wednesday morning, January 24, 2007 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
   She was born Feb. 2, 1928 in Red Bay, Ala; the daughter of Timothy Charles and Marietta Smith Stembridge. She married Vernon M. Hagloch on Nov. 10, 1944 in New Bern, N.C. and he preceded in death on June 9, 1985.
   She is survived by three sons, Charles (wife, Jan) and Vernon (wife, Janet), both of Virginia, and Jonathan (wife, Shelley) of Naperville; three daughters, Mary Catherine (husband, George) McKennedy of Virginia, Nadine (husband, Jack) Tackitt of West Chicago, and Lee Ann (husband, Tom) Folder of Chatham; 13 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one step greatgrandchild; one brother, Jimmy Mack (wife, Barbara) Stembridge of Grantsboro, N.C.; two sisters, Maudie Slade and Dorothy (husband, Alton) Cuthrell of Grantsboro, N.C.; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, William "Bud" (surviving wife, Charlotte of Grantsboro, N.C.) Stembridge; and one sister, Hattie Clement.
   Mrs. Hagloch was employed as a nurse's aide at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia, and later at Norris Hospital and Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville. She retired from Passavant Hospital Central Supply Department following many years of employment. She was a member of St. Luke's Parish in Virginia and a devoted mother and grandmother.
   A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke Catholic Church in Virginia, with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Tri-County Relay For Life or Virginia Memorial Public Library.    Marshall Hall, 71, of Beardstown went to be with his Heavenly Father surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 27, 2011, in his home. He was born August 30, 1939 in Brown County, the son of Seldon Leroy and Loretta Pearl Thomas Hall. He married Pat Wilson on May 28, 1971 in Beardstown. Surviving is his wife Pat Hall of Beardstown; his mother Loretta Hall of Mt. Sterling; nine children Terri (husband Mark) Canada of Beardstown, Greg Sikes of Beardstown, Mike (wife Rikki) Hall of Peoria, Karen (husband Johnny) Ballew of Atlanta, GA, Tammy (husband Jerry) Tassart of Pekin, Debbie Pate (companion Jamie Waters) of Beardstown, Shannon (husband Ray) Thurman of Beardstown, Jeremy (wife Kara) Hall of Versailles, and Jason (wife Danette) Hall of Detroit Lakes, MN; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one brother William Leroy (wife Linda) Hall of Colorado Springs, CO. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister Clarabelle �Sug� Merrill. Marshall graduated from Brown County High School in the class of 1957 and then served in the US Navy for two years. He was previously employed with Bohn Heat Transfer in Beardstown. He also owned and operated Hall�s Roofing for 47 years retiring in November 2010. Marshall was a strong family man who treasured his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as life�s greatest blessings. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday, September 2, 2011, at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Burial will be in Versailles West Side Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 5 until 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials have been suggested to Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta, GA.
