O., Mason City; was born in Cass County, Sept 18, 1839. He received his education from the common schools of Cass County. His early life was spent at home, helping his father till the farm. He remained at home until 1862, when he enlisted in Company E. 85th Illinois, under command of Captain Scott; was in battle of Perryville, Boyle County, Ky.; was shot through left hip. In 1861, in Cass County, he married Anna M. Trumbull, who died in 1862. In August, 1865, he married Mrs. Matilda J. Turner, who has borne him eight children, five living, viz.: Ada J., Addison J., Ella M., Emerson, Leonard. He carried on farming in Cass County until 1871, when he removed to Mason County, where he is still engaged in farming. He is now the owner of about 300 acres of land. Self and wife are members of the Baptist Church; he is also a member of the Order of Knights of Honor, and the Grand Army of the Republic. Lynn Trumbull Turner = Boyle-KY Mason-IL
