Winifred Coatney

     Winifred LaVerne Coatney, 81, of Greenleaf, died June 26, 1993, at home of natural causes.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2;30 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 1993, at the Oregon Trail Church of God, Caldwell.  The Rev. William Shepherd and Rev. Don Hardenbrook will officiate, under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel.  Burial will follow at the Greenleaf Cemetery, Greenleaf, Idaho.
     Winifred was born August 25, 1911, a daughter of John F. and Susie Bridgford Higgins, in South Dakota.  She married Coval Coatney on August 1, 1928, in Willow Springs, Missouri.  They moved to Idaho in 1953.  She was a member of the Oregon Trail Church of God.  She enjoyed needlework and her flower garden.
     She is survived by her husband, Coval of Greenleaf; two daughters, Barbara Christenson of Yukon, MO, and Doris Lankford of Elk Creek, MO; two sons, Jerry Coatney of Chouteau, OK, and Lawrence Coatney of Caldwell; fourteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Means of Caldwell; and two brothers, Ralph Gushwa of Caldwell and Glen Gushwa of Pryor, OK.
