Middleton Woman
Dies On Sunday

     Pearl Lulu Shaffer, 60, who has been a telephone operator at Middleton for more than 30 years, died Sunday evening at a local nursing home.
     Miss Shaffer was born in 1883 at Lawrence County, Mo., and had been a resident of Middleton since 1884.  She was a member of the Methodist church at Middleton.
     She leaves three brothers, Lee R. Shaffer of Middleton, and Bert and Marvin Shaffer of Oakland, Cal., and two sisters, Mrs. Ellie Clemons of Middleton and Mrs. Ollie Hadsall of Coquille, Ore.
     Interment will be in the Middleton cemetery under the direction of the Peckham funeral home.
