Mary Ann Peter

     Mrs. Mary Ann Peter, 90, who homesteaded in the Roswell community near here in 1905 with her husband, died Tuesday in a local nursing home following an illness of several months.
     Born Oct. 9, 1867, in Rice Lake Minn., Mrs. Peter spent her girlhood in Minnesota and was married to Robert W. Peter Dec. 5, 1888, in Ellington, Minn.  Following their marriage they moved to North Dakota where he operated grain elevators.  Later they farmed in Minnesota, moving to Utah in 1900, farming there, then moving to Roswell in 1905.  Mr. Peter died in 1942.  Mrs. Peter was a worker in the Roswell Presbyterian Ladies Aid.
     Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Leora Benson, Roswell; one grandchild and three great grandchildren.
     Services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Roswell Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Shaw officiating.  Interment at Roswell will be directed by the Flahiff chapel.
