I. W. Mitchell, for a
number of years a resident of the Wilder community, died
Tuesday at his present home at Salem, Oregon. The body
will be shipped to Caldwell arriving at the Peckham Funeral
Home Friday noon. Funeral services will be held Saturday
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Peckham Chapel. Burial
will be in Canyon Hill cemetery |

WILDER (Special)
- Funeral services for I. W. Mitchell, who died at Salem,
Ore., October 16, were held at the Peckham chapel Saturday
afternoon. The Rev. George G. Roseberry, pastor of the
Caldwell Methodist Episcopal church was in charge.
A quartet comprising Mrs. Gene Smith, Mrs. L. F. Kowalk,
H. G. Peckham and the Rev. Willis J. Douglass, Jr., sang.
Mrs. Harold Peterson was the accompanist.
Pall bearers were Piercie Trunnel, W. W. Kreider, A. W.
Paulsen, I. H. Law, J. W. Weeks and W. R. Graham.
Burial was in the Canyon Hill cemetery at Caldwell.
Isaac Willard Mitchell was born June 13, 1858 in Green
county, Ill., where he grew to manhood. At the age of
27he moved to Peabody, Kans., and in July, 1885, he married
Miss Rose Jane Bates of that city. The couple lived
there until 1918 when they came to Caldwell. They lived
in Caldwell for some time and then moved to Wilder where they
resided until three years ago when Mr. Mitchell moved to Salem
to live with his only daughter, Mrs. J. Calvin Mitchell, of
Salem, Ore.
Surviving Mr. Mitchell besides his daughter are seven
grandchildren, one great-grandchild and sever half sisters and
brothers.
Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell accompanied the body here from
Salem. |
