Former Local Boy
Reported Drowned
At Ontario, Cal.


     George Edward Meador, 13-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. P. N. Meador of Ontario, Cal., formerly of Caldwell and the Apple Valley community was reported to have drowned Saturday at Ontario, Cal.  Details of the accident were not available today.  The body will arrive at the Peckham chapel here Wednesday morning.  Arrangements are incomplete.
     He was born at Caldwell April 29, 1929.  The family moved from the Apple Valley community to Lincoln, Neb., about four years ago and in 1941 they moved to Ontario.
     Survivors besides the parents include a brother, Paul Meador of Ontario;  maternal grandmother, Mrs. J. N. Meador. Sr., of Caldwell;  paternal grandfather, L. E. Bebb of Notus and sever aunts and uncles.

Youth Buried
Here Thursday


     Funeral services for George Edward Meador, 13, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Meador, Jr., of Ontario, Calif., formerly of Caldwell will be held at the Peckham chapel Thursday at 2:30 p.m.  The Rev. George Roseberry will officiate and burial will be in Canyon Hill cemetery.  Mr. and Mrs. Meador and son, Paul, arrived in Caldwell this morning with the body of their elder son.
     Born at Caldwell, April 29, 1929, Goerge Edward was reported to have accidentally drowned while swimming in the Chaffey plunge at Ontario Saturday afternoon.  He was a member of the Red Cross swimming class and had only recently learned to swim, the instructor reported.  He attended Vina T. Banks junior high school and was a member of Ontario Boy Scout Troop No. 9 and the Nazarene church.  He attended school at Apple Valley before his parents moved to Lincoln, Neb., in 1939 and to Ontario two years later.
     Before the body ws sent to Caldwell, funeral services were held at the Draper chapel in Ontario Monday afternoon with the Nazarene pastor in charge.
     Survivors besides the parents and brother, are his grandmother, Mrs. Jesse Meador, Caldwell;  his grandfather, L. E. Bebb, Notus;  also the following aunts and uncles of Caldwell and vicinity, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lantzer, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kohtz, Mr. and Mrs. Erven Heckathorn, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Lantzer, Mr. and Mrs. Emery Royce and Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Bebb.
