Stivers Rites
Are Arranged
For Saturday

Frank Wade Stivers, 46 year-old Wilder merchant, died Monday
at a Boise hospital. He was born in Olin, Iowa, and has
resided in Wilder many years, operating the Green Lantern
tavern in Wilder the past year.
Survivors are his wife, Irene C. Stivers, Wilder; four
brothers, Harry, Tim of Monmouth, Ore., James and Theodore of
San Francisco; also three sisters, Mrs. Helen Demmon of
Elsie, Ore., Katherine Stivers, Kansas City, Mo., and Bernice
Stivers of San Francisco, Calif.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30
in the Methodist church in Wilder. Rev. M. W. Burres and the
Masonic lodge will be in charge of the services. Burial will
be in the Wilder cemetery. The body is at the Peckham funeral
chapel. |

WILDER (Special) -
Funeral services for Frank W. Stivers, who died at a Boise
hospital June 27, were held Saturday afternoon at the Wilder
Methodist church. The Rev. Merle W. Burres was in charge
of the service. A quartet comprising Mrs. Harold Thomas,
Mrs. Gene Smith, H. G. Peckham and Merle Jenkins sang with
Mrs. Harold Peterson as accompanist.
Pall bearers were James C. Karn, E. G. Lee, Charles V.
Karn, T. C. Phillips, J. W. Weeks and Carl Pielstick.
Burial was in the Wilder cemetery.
Mr. Stivers was born at Olin, Ill., December 21, 1891.
He enlisted in the United States army June 7, 1917 at
Missoula, Mont., and served overseas during the World war with
company C, fourth engineers. He was engaged in four
major battles and was wounded twice.
After the armistice was signed he served with the army
of occupation until August of 1919. Soon after his
discharge from service he came to the Fargo community where he
was later joined by his parents. For about ten years he
served as bookkeeper in the local watermaster's office.
Ill Two Years
On February 14, 1926 he married Miss Irene Clark,
only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Clark of Wilder. In
1934 Mr. and Mrs. Stivers moved to Colber, Wash., and lived
there until about a year ago when they returned to Wilder.
Mr. Stivers has been ill for two years but the illness
became critical only a short time before his death.
Surviving are Mrs. Stivers; four brothers, Harry
of Allegheny, Ore., Tim B., of Monmouth, Ore., James of San
Francisco and Theodore of San Francisco; three sisters,
Mrs. Helen B. Denman of Elsie, Ore., Kathryn Stivers of Kansas
City, Mo., and Bernice Stivers of San Francisco. |
